100% Supports American Hero Doug Henry

100% Supports American Hero Doug Henry
100% is proud to support motorcycle legend Doug Henry as he prepares to compete in Adaptive SnoCross at the 2013 ESPN Winter X Games. Henry will be equipped with a snowmobile specific Racecraft goggle as he lines up at the gate this weekend in Aspen, CO.
Doug’s racing achievements throughout the years are nothing short of amazing. Henry is a three-time AMA Motocross National Champion and played a big role in changing motocross racing forever by becoming the first rider to professionally race a four-stroke motorcycle in Supercross back in 1997. Henry claimed the 1998 AMA Motocross Championship aboard his Yamaha YZ400F becoming the first four-stroke rider in history to win a title.
Once Henry retired from motocross racing, he turned his attention to Supermoto. Popularity in the sport was growing, and Doug quickly became one of the most dominating riders in the world and went on to win a gold medal in the 2005 Summer X-Games.
100% Supports American Hero Doug Henry
While Doug has enjoyed great success in racing, he has also been forced to overcome a great deal of adversity. Henry broke his back in a huge crash at the Budds Creek Motocross National in 1995. He amazingly fought back to race motocross again before starting his Supermoto career. A crash during a Supermoto race in 2007 left him partially paralyzed. No matter what challenges Doug has faced, he always perseveres. His determination and strength really exemplifies what giving 100% is all about.
Doug has now turned his attention to snowmobile racing. He has always enjoyed snowmobiling and entered his first X Games Adaptive SnoCross in 2010 where he won a bronze medal. Doug is heading into Winter X prepared and has his sights set on a win. Tune into ESPN this Sunday, January 27th starting at 2:00 PM EST to watch the race.

Velocity 3 Race Report

Courtesy of Velocity 3 Racing

Chicopee, MA - Velocity 3 Yamaha, in only its first season, is making an immediate impact in the 2013 Supercross season. Under the tutelage of industry championship veteran mechanics Kenny Germain and Brian Berry, racers Kyle Chisholm (#11) and Bobby Kiniry (#39) have a wealth of talent and strong YZ450Fs under the V3R awning.

To start the week, V3R added a new team member. Returning home to New York after the Phoenix Supercross, Bobby Kiniry collected his best trophy to date as he and wife Brittney became new parents with the birth of their first child, Everly.

Crisscrossing the country, Bobby returned to California on Friday and joined teammate Chisholm for a Team Appearance in Los Angeles at Del Amo Motosports meeting fans and signing autographs...then it was off to Anaheim.

In the first 450 Heat of the night, Bobby Kiniry shook off the lack of sleep and jet lag with a good start on his Yamaha YZ450F. Bobby stayed out front with the leaders; his epic battle with Trey Canard featured extensively on the CBS broadcast. Everly surely was cheering on her father as he finished fourth to transfer directly to the main.

Not to be outdone, teammate Kyle Chisholm in his flashy new O’neal gear, put on an incredible performance in his respective heat race. Up against RV, JS7, Reed, Barcia, Short and a host of factory talent, Chisholm proved he’s back to form and his ailing ankle healing, as he equalled Kiniry’s result to finish 4th and join his teammate in the main event.

When the gate dropped for the Main Event and the riders charged into the first turn, both V3R riders would be mired in the back of the pack. With atypical starts and against the fastest riders on earth, both riders put in valiant efforts but came up short of their personal expectations. Chisholm and Kiniry would finish the night in 15th and 18th but with knowledge that, with their lap times, top 10 finishes are certainly within reach next week in Oakland.

V3R thanks those supporters of the team including Yamaha Motor Corporation, Yamalube, GYTR, DRD, Dunlop, Costa Rica Unlimited Ironclad, Ride Engineering, Moto-Master, Twin Air, Athena, Cycra, DID, Dubya, ICW, 360 Unlimited, Pro Taper, Supersprox, Works Connection, Matrix, Hinson, Motoseat, Renagade Fuel, STS Graphics, and Freegun Underwear.

Team Rockwell / Fire Police MX Phoenix Race Report

Courtesy of Fire Police MX

Carlsbad, Calif. — All three Team Rockwell/FirePoliceMX riders were on hand to brave the frigid temperatures and slick track Saturday as Chase Field played host to the second round of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship.

Nick Paluzzi looked to avenge the bad luck he had at round one in Anaheim with fast times in qualifying practice. During the second B practice, Nick put his (#838) Yamaha to the top of the Monster Energy board with the fastest time, ultimately qualifying 25th overall. In the first 250SX heat, he crossed the finish line on lap one in 13th position and managed to make his way up to 11th before experiencing a serious crash on the final lap. He was transported from the track to the hospital having suffered a fractured C-7 vertebra. Before the 250SX main, the broadcast crew addressed the crash and wished him well.

Killy Rusk managed to make it out of Phoenix unscathed but is still trying to put his (#66) Honda into a main event. Killy made the night program qualifying 39th overall, giving him the 20th gate pick in his heat race where he managed a 15th place. In the LCQ, he lined up on the inside gate but was squeezed off, and he was unable to qualify for the main.

It was an exciting day for Trevor Ivey as he made his rookie supercross debut aboard his (#400) Honda. Trevor looked fast after the first timed practice with times placing him near the top 40. The second timed practice did not go well for the rookie as he crashed and broke his collarbone. He has plans to have it plated, but the timetable for his return is still in question.

The team returns home to sunny SoCal down, but not out, this Saturday Jan. 19 for round three in Anaheim with Killy Rusk as the lone rider. Stop by the Rockwell/FirePoliceMX tent from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m. to show your support for the team.

RCH Racing A1 Report

Courtesy of RCH Racing

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The new-look Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki RM-Z 450 racing team had an evening of mixed results during Round 1 of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross Series season Saturday at jammed-packed Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.

Former AMA Lites champion Broc Tickle (No. 20 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki RM-Z 450) was on pace for a top-10 finish when a mid-race mishap with two-time defending series champion Ryan Villopoto dropped the first-year RCH rider 10 positions and out of race contention.  He finished 18th.
Tickle started 12th in the 20-lap Main Event.  He broke inside the top 10 by Lap 5 and was racing bar-to-bar with Villopoto in a battle of Suzuki against Kawasaki when misfortune struck on Lap 8.  The RCH rider found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time and couldn’t avoid the havoc in front of him.

“I didn’t see much until I got right up on him,” said Tickle.  “He must have hit the tuff block when he landed because they were all across the track.  I dodged one, dodged his bike but ran into Villo (Villopoto) and crashed.  It’s a bummer for everyone on this No. 20 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki RM-Z 450 team.  We’re outta here healthy and I’m looking forward to next week in Phoenix.  We’re making positive progress.”

The Michigan native was solid throughout the event aboard the Tony Berluti-tuned Suzuki.  He rode mid-pack in both afternoon practice sessions and finished sixth in his Heat Race for an automatic transfer to the Main Event.  Tickle’s was impressive in his heat, rebounding after getting pinched in Turn 1 which dropped him five positions in the eight-lap race.  He regained four spots over the final four laps on the ultra-fast Anaheim track.

“We had a really good day until the Main Event,” said Berluti.  “Broc was running about 10th; he and (Ryan) Villopoto were battling hard for a few laps.  Villopoto hit a tuff block and knocked it out of place and Broc had nowhere to go.  It took Broc a few seconds to get back going.  By then, he was all the way back in 20th. We ended up 18th.”

Teammate Josh Hill (No. 75 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki RM-Z 450) suffered his second-consecutive, season-opening disappointment after the Oregon native wobbled his Suzuki during the first qualifying practice, cross-rutting a portion of the rhythm section which sent him to the dirt.

Hill’s head-banging tumble forced the second-year RCH rider to sit out the remaining event schedule.  He was evaluated by medical personnel for precautionary reasons.  Hill suffered a broken left leg at last year’s season opener which sidelined him for the majority of the season.

BTO Sports at A1

Courtesy of BTO Sports

Anaheim, CA – The BTO Sports - KTM team headed in to the opening round of the Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship Series at Anaheim ready for the competition.  Team riders Matt Goerke and Les Smith would be all business as the gate dropped Saturday night.

Matt Goerke came in to round one with confidence and it showed as he put down a respectable 17th place in qualifying. He was all business in his heat race as his Pirelli tires helped him to a great start, running up front for most of the heat.  He would secure a spot in the main event with a 5th place finish.  As the gate dropped for the main event, Matt rode strong, battling with Kevin Windham and Josh Grant for most of the race.  As the checkered flag flew, Matt would finish the night in 12th place. Les Smith didn’t have the night he was hoping for. Filling in for BTO Sports - KTM team rider Michael Byrne as he prepares to come back to racing, Les would use the power of his FMF Exhaust system to rocket out of the gate in his heat race.  He would go down a few laps later while running inside the top ten. In the LCQ, he would go down again and not make the main.  A rough night for Les, but look for him to bounce back at next weekend’s round at Phoenix.

“I’m very happy with Matt’s performance tonight.  He rode strong all night and this is a great start to the season.” said team manager Forrest Butler.

Team Honda Muscle Milk Ready for 2013

Courtesy of American Honda

Torrance, CA: With round one of the 2013 Monster Energy AMA Supercross only days away, Team Honda Muscle Milk is ready to take on the competition.
Honda has been at the forefront of American Motocross and Supercross action since the beginning, winning its first AMA 250 National Championship in 1973 and amassing an unparalleled race record over the past 40 years, and that winning tradition looks to roll into 2013 as well with champions Trey Canard and Justin Barcia ready for action.
For 2013, Canard and Barcia will compete on Honda’s all-new 2013 CRF450R in the AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross series. The 2013 CRF450R made its debut during the off-season at the Monster Energy Cup, where Barcia won the event overall. Since then, the team has continued to develop the CRF450R in the hands of Canard, Barcia and Jeremy McGrath, who also provided valuable input during hundreds of testing laps during the off season.
After an exciting 2012 season, Muscle Milk is eager to continue their partnership with American Honda in 2013. “We’re extremely proud to be partnered again with Honda Racing. They have a great tradition in racing, a strong commitment to winning, and we both share a common goal of making the highest quality products for consumers,” says CytoSport’s SVP of marketing, John Peirano. “The 2012 season was a great opening year for us as the title sponsor of Team Honda Muscle Milk. We are even more excited about the 2013 season with riders Trey Canard and Justin Barcia leading the way. Both riders embody what a Muscle Milk athlete represents with their determination and commitment to be the best.”
Team Honda Muscle Milk also had some changes during the off season.  First, Mike Tomlin moved from GEICO Honda to the Team Honda Muscle Milk factory team to continue wrenching for Barcia. Three-time WMX champion, Ashley Fiolek, announced she would retire from racing the WMX series. During her four years as a Team Honda factory racer, Ashley consistently demonstrated a professional approach to racing and reflected a racing spirit that is at the core of the Honda brand.
Two more changes to the team effort this year include the addition of Replay cameras and Honda Racing HPD as team sponsors. They join returning sponsors Troy Lee Designs, Pro Honda Oils and Chemicals, Dunlop, Showa, Renthal, D.I.D, VP Racing Fuels, Twin Air, Yoshimura, Hinson Racing and Throttle Jockey.
About the Riders
Canard returns to the team in 2013 for the third year in a row. Since his professional debut in 2007, Canard has become a fan favorite with his humble personality, fierce competitive attitude and undeniable talent. In the 2010 AMA Motocross Lites series, young Canard rode to his first-ever outdoor championship, adding to his long list of accomplishments, which includes a 2008 Supercross Lites East title. After his devastating accident last February that led to a long recovery, Canard believes 2013 is all about new beginnings, and he is confident in his ability to win races.
Barcia enters the 2013 season as the newcomer to the premier class. However, he is nothing new to winning—or to Honda. After making an impressive professional debut in 2009, the young phenomenon has continued to top the podium in both Supercross and Motocross races around the country. In the 2011 AMA Supercross season, Barcia appeared on the podium at every round of the nine-race series and was able to clinch his first Lites East Championship title on his GEICO Honda CRF250R. During the 2011 outdoor Motocross season, he was given the opportunity to ride the last four rounds aboard a factory CRF450R. He showed that he could run up front with the fastest riders in the series by taking third place overall at both Unadilla and Pala, and grabbing a moto win at Southwick. Barcia’s 2012 season proved just as successful as he earned five race wins, maintaining his points lead throughout the entire Supercross Lites season and wrapping up his second Lites East Championship on the GEICO Honda team with one round remaining. He ended his 2012 season by winning the Monster Energy Cup, beating the best 450 racers in the country. His agenda for 2013 is simple: Get out front, get on the podium and win races.
Team Honda Muscle Milk would like to invite fans to stop by for an autograph in the Supercross paddock and to keep an eye on Barcia and Canard on the racetrack. They’ll be the easy to spot: Just look at the front of the pack.
