Luke Renzland signs with Horton Racing/Rock River/Yamaha
Just before the 2013 Mini O's, Luke Renzland signs with Horton Racing/Rock River/Yamaha. Luke will finish out his amateur career on the Yamaha brand. That is the same brand that he won the 450A title at Loretta this year on. We asked the Team Manager of Horton Racing , Ed Torrance, about his program and the signing of Luke Renzland. Ed stated,
"We are extremely excited to be working with the Yamaha brand this year. The entire team and sponsors are working extremely hard to put the new Yamaha models on the podium. We are looking forward to exceeding the expectations of everyone this year with the program we have put together. Horton Racing has put together a very solid roster for 2013/2014. The riders we have signed are  John Short, Cody Williams, Henery Miller , Zeb smith, and now Luke Renzland. I feel like with the addition ofRenzland he can help our program progress forward and I also know we can help Luke get to that next level."
Renzland is coming off a title at Loretta and looks to be a serious contender for several more titles in the 2013/2014 season. We asked Luke about his program and the move to Horton Racing/Rock River/Yamaha and this is what he had to say,
" I'm looking forward to a great working relationship with the entire Horton Racing program and I am very excited to remain on the Yamaha brand. Rock River/Yamaha has really stepped up to support the Horton Racing program and I feel like that is a winning combination. We have a lot of great sponsors that will help us secure many top finishes this season. I am also excited to work with Ed as he has a lot of experience with working with some of the best riders that now race at the professional level. The combination of Ed's experience, the great sponsors we have, my program and hard work, we will have a successful run at some titles."
Renzland also stated this about his current program,
" I had some pretty good results at Loretta but I have made some big changes in my training program and feel much more solid compared to when I was at Loretta. I have put some solid people in my camp to help me tailor a program that will help me succeed with my final year as an amateur and with my transition into the pro ranks. I started working with a new trainer, Ross Muinzer, and my strength and cardio have really improved. It has transitioned into my riding the bike and allowed me to train at peak performance. I am very excited about the progress we are going to make in the future and can' thank my entire team of people, which includes my entire family, enough.
I would also like to thank all of the sponsors that have come on board to help make this program the very best. Thanks to Horton Racing, Rock River, Yamaha, Fly, Horton Tree Service, MX Solutions, Yamalube, GYTR, Fit-n-Wise, Twin Air, Dunlop, Renegade Fuels, Scott Goggles, Speed Graphics, Pro Curcuit, Mac Tools, Work Connection, Dubya Wheels, RK Excel, Gaerne Boots, Matrix Racing Products, Motion Pro, UFO, and Renthal."

2014 Motocross Schedule Announced

Courtesy of MX Sports

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (November 7, 2013) - Following another extremely successful racing season, MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli Sports, a division of the NBC Sports Group, announce the 2014 schedule for the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. Making its highly anticipated return to Lucas Oil Pro Motocross, the Glen Helen National will kick off the season Saturday, May 24 in San Bernardino, Calif. The 12-round series will then make stops throughout the summer at premier motocross facilities in the country, while introducing a brand new venue in Indiana before concluding with the Utah National in Tooele, Utah on August 24.

Joining the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship for the first time is the Midwest's Indiana National in Crawfordsville, Ind., serving as the penultimate round in 2014. Lucas Oil Pro Motocross' newest venue has played host to a round of the Grand National Cross Country Series for nearly 20 years.

Many of the series' traditional stops return in 2014, including Hangtown, Thunder Valley, High Point, Budds Creek, RedBud, Spring Creek, Washougal and Unadilla. Additionally, following two highly successful inaugural events, both the Tennessee and Utah Nationals return to the 2014 schedule. The world-class venues included in the 2014 season will provide returning fans and new guests the chance to witness the fastest racers on the planet in head-to-head competition, while enjoying a day outside interacting with elite series sponsors.

"It has long been our goal to present the most legendary, spectacular tracks in American motocross on the schedule, as well as mixing in a few new facilities to add diversity to the schedule and new challenges for the best riders in the world," said MX Sports Pro Racing President Davey Coombs. "In 2013 we presented new rounds in Tennessee and Utah, both performed even better than we hoped. Now we look forward to yet another new venue in Indiana, as well as the return of the iconic Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California as the 2014 opener. Adding those events in with such premier motocross tracks as RedBud, Unadilla, Washougal, Hangtown and more, and you have the makings of an exciting summer of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross for fans all over the country."

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is the pinnacle of professional motocross racing, attracting the world's most talented athletes to compete on the country's toughest and most scenic motocross tracks.

Reigning 450 Class Champion, Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto, will look to defend his Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship crown during the 2014 season, while 250 Class Champion Eli Tomac makes his move to the 450 Class. Additionally, Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey will be joined by former world champion Ken Roczen in the 450 Class, while former champions James Stewart and Chad Reed, along with Trey Canard, all hope to return to the top of the leader board. Add in Team Honda Muscle Milk's Justin Barcia, Villopoto's Kawasaki teammate Jake Weimer, Toyota/JGR Yamaha's Josh Grant and Justin Brayton, plus a talented pack of up-and-comers and you have what must be considered one of the most competitive fields in motocross history.
