FARMINGDALE, NJ – March 28, 2012 –
Bel-Ray Company, Inc.-the
leading USA-based lubrication manufacturing company would like
congratulate Ben Townley and the Bel-Ray Honda team on their 2012 New
Zealand Motocross Championship.
Townley won all but 1 race on his way to the championship that concluded in his hometown of Taupo, New Zealand on March 18th.
Shortly following his championship, it was announced that Townley would
be
joining another Bel-Ray backed team for the rest of the 2012 racing
season. He will be the lead rider on the TwoTwo Motorsports Bel-Ray
racing team, following team owner Chad Reed’s season-ending injury.
Townley’s first race under the TwoTwo tent will be in
Sacramento, California on May 19th.
Team Bel-Ray Honda was
the most successful team in New Zealand motocross during the 2012
season. Backing up Townley’s overall victory in the MX1 class, Justin
McDonald and Michael Phillips competed to 4th and 5th
place overall finishes respectively. In MX2 action, Peter Broxholme finished 4th overall and Cameron Dillon finished 15th overall.
Townley will now begin
preparing for his assault on the AMA National championship series with
the hopes of adding a second #1 plate to his 2012 collection.
