ROCKSTAR MAKITA SUZUKI SET FOR ANAHEIM OPENER
Team Suzuki Press Office - January 6.
The Rockstar Makita Suzuki Supercross team is prepped and ready to compete at Anaheim 1, the first round of the 2010 Monster Energy AMA/ FIM World Supercross Championship, this weekend.
With the direction of motocross legend and Team Manager Roger DeCoster and Assistant Team Manager Ray Tetherton, the entire team is at the top of their game with the help of the championship-winning RM-Z450 and all-new fuel-injected RM-Z250. And with a roster of winning athletes that includes Lites Champion Ryan Dungey and Australian Lites Champion Matt Moss moving up to the pro Supercross class and Austin Stroupe in the Lites East series, the team is looking to have a great 2010 season.
Reigning Supercross Lites West Champion and AMA Motocross 250 Champion Dungey - a member of the winning U.S. Motocross of Nations team - is moving up to the 450 class this year. He's been putting the RM-Z450 to the test, and both racer and bike are in winning form. "We have a lot of hopes resting on Dungey for the 2010 season," DeCoster said. "He will be our main guy and I believe he is capable to adapt to the big boy's class, yet we need to stay realistic as everyone moving up has needed some time to adapt. Maybe the biggest difference is that now it's not eight or nine SX events to compete in but 17 in row and there is no time for a break or to regroup."
Dungey's fluid riding style and his ability to race smart will help him make a big impact in the Supercross series. "I'm really looking forward to this season, and I'm excited," Dungey said. "We've done a lot of preparation in the off-season, and the goal is to go out there and get my first win. I want to be in the hunt and I think we can make that happen. I'm going to do my best, I have a great team that works 100 per cent and I can't wait to get out there and race. I'm ready."
Adding to Dungey's chances of winning is mechanic Mike "Goose" Gosselaar, who wrenched on Ricky Carmichael's championship-winning Suzukis in the past.
Australian Pro Lites Supercross and Australasian Pro Lites Champion Moss is coming to the U.S. series and will be taking on the competition with his race-ready RM-Z450. Moss sustained an injury in the final Australian SX race of the season on December 5th in which he compressed the T5 vertebrae in his back, but he's on track to make his U.S. Supercross debut in the coming weeks. DeCoster said, "We had big hopes to see Matt Moss making the move up from Lites at the same time as Ryan, but due to his injuries sustained on a 450 after wining the Lites title in Australia, Matt will probably miss the first six events. I have been told that he is pretty resilient and should be able to come back strong." Moss is expected to recover in time to line up at the starting gate for most of the Supercross races and is looking forward to competing alongside Dungey aboard the Suzuki RM-Z450.
Austin Stroupe will be riding the RM-Z250 and competing in the Pro Lites East series after finishing second in the series in 2009. "Our Lites rider, Austin Stroupe, will do the East Coast Lites and will take the place of Moss in the Supercross class while we are at the West Coast events. Austin has been doing well in his preparation."
Stroupe is consistently one of the fastest racers on the track, and with the help of the all-new fuel-injected RM-Z250, he's poised to take the Pro Lites class by storm and get some valuable experience riding Moss' RM-Z450. "I'm really looking forward to getting out there and racing this year," Stroupe said. "I've got a great team, a great bike I've been putting in a lot of time on, and I feel really good. I'm ready to go."

Mototown USA, America's largest indoor motocross specific riding facility, reopened its doors for the 09/10 winter season on Dec 12.
Courtesy of Mototown
Windsor, CT - 1/5/10 - Mototown USA, America's largest indoor motocross specific riding facility, reopened its doors for the 09/10 winter season on Dec 12. The opening weekend was very strong and the facility's visitation has increased steadily every day as more and more riders find out about the reopening. With over 200,000 sq. feet of open riding area, the track offers more of a natural outdoor format that riders are used to, unlike a tight supercross format found in smaller facilities.
Mototown USA is offering Sessions this year, much like a local skatepark, which limits the number of bikes on the track at any one time offering riders more of a quality experience. Gone are the days of 10 minute motos and then sitting around for 90 minutes as you wait for everyone else. And now, much like a Tee time reservation at a golf course, Mototown offers its customers the convenience of making a reservation so they know they won't have to worry about getting to ride when they want. Reservations are not required however, as walk ins are always welcome providing the session has room. Again, this is just a convenience, and many riders are taking advantag of it. Riders are also able to call ahead on their way to the track to check on session availability. Reservations are made online by emailing nemx.mototownusa@yahoo.com for a reservation form.
Pricing as been adjusted to reflect affordable packages as well, and so far the riders who have tried it seem to really like it. "By offering sessions we were able to actually lower the prices dramatically over year's past," reports Director of New Business Development, David Olcott, "and by limiting the riders per session we are able to offer a much better experience for our guests. Riders are enjoying the convenience of planning ahead and making a reservation - which insures that they get to ride when they want, but even people who just show up get to ride that day since we are usually able to get them in the next session without much trouble. Our mission statement is 'Everybody goes home happy' "
The track and soil became the focus before opening as Mototown used to have a very hard clay surface. This year that was replaced with a sand/top soil mix which allowed the track designers to offer much more of an outdoor layout. The 2 hour sessions are broken up by 15 minute breaks to allow the air to clear and often a groomer will jump on the track and fix rough spots like a zamboni on an ice rink. "We are a far cry from where we want (and need) to be, but we are very happy with the progress so far," Olcott said, "Everyone on board is committed to seeing this venue succeed!"
Riders have come from as far away as Pennsylvania, Ohio, upstate New York and Maryland, not to mention everywhere in New England. Mototown is primarily a practice facility open Wed-Fri (12-9), Sat (9-9), and Sun (9-6), however plans include a few events and races this winter. Private track rentals are also available and several shops, distributors, and industry manufacturers have already reserved time to entertain their clients for this season.
For more information, check out their web site www.nesupercross.com. Mototown USA is located at 1001 Day Hill Road in Windsor, CT. It is just 10 minutes north of Hartford, just off exit 38 on I-91. Call them at 860-919-6711 or email them at nemx.mototownusa.com

JGRMX to Use Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oils
Courtesy of JGRMX
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (January 5, 2010) - For 2010, The JGRMX Muscle Milk/Toyota Team will use a new oil derived from the synthetic racing oil used by the Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR teams. Blended for four stroke wet clutch racing applications, Joe Gibbs Driven XP7 was developed specifically for JGRMX.
To achieve maximum horsepower gains and excellent valve train protection, JGRMX will utilize the "system approach" of breaking-in new engines with Joe Gibbs Driven BR Break-In Oil and racing with XP7 Racing Oil. This system has been used by the Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR teams for 10 years.
Extensive dyno and track testing proved that XP7 delivers measurable horsepower gains and excellent wear protection for both supercross and motocross racing. This oil is not intended for non-racing vehicles. It is for closed course use only.
Many of the top NASCAR teams use the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oils in competition. "Joe Gibbs Racing originally developed these oils in response to the ever tightening environmental regulations that made standard oils better for the environment during street use, but worse for competition engines in closed course racing," said Ed Fennell from Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oils. "By making the oil for racing use only, we can use more zinc, phosphorus and sulfur that would not be allowed under regulations for street use. This results in less friction, more horsepower, and less wear."
To learn about the oil, as well as the full Joe Gibbs Driven line of lubricants, visit www.joegibbsracingoil.com or contact Ed Fennell at efennell@joegibbsracing.com or by phone at 704-944-5153.

Team Suzuki Press Office - January 5.
American Suzuki has announced its Xtreme Rockstar Suzuki amateur team plans for the 2010 season.
Led by Team Manager Ed Torrance and team owner Bobby Hewitt, the 2010 Xtreme Rockstar Suzuki team will consist of two riders and will focus on preparing them for their pro careers. The racers will be competing on Suzuki's line-up of championship-winning bikes, the all-new RM-Z250 and race-proven RM-Z450.
The Xtreme Rockstar Suzuki line-up will consist of Ian Trettel and Landon Currier. "I'm really excited about the opportunity we have with American Suzuki.
"Ian just came off a dominating performance at Mini O's and I believe the Xtreme Rockstar Suzuki team will be able to provide him the tools to win more championships and gain the skills to begin a successful pro career," stated Brian Noah, Suzuki Motocross Support Specialist. "Landon Currier is new to Suzuki in 2010, and after only weeks on his new bikes, is showing the speed required to win races in the hotly-contested B classes."
With Hewitt and Torrance, the Xtreme Rockstar team was created to help cater to riders who are getting ready to make the next step and prepare for their professional debut. "I'm really excited about the opportunity we have with American Suzuki. Having two great riders who understand the program and the commitment that is required with Ian and Landon is going to make this year another successful season at Xtreme Rockstar Suzuki," stated Hewitt, owner of Xtreme Amateur and Pro Lites, LLC.
The Xtreme Rockstar Suzuki team offers a semi, top-notch race mechanics, and the best equipment possible to provide the riders the best opportunity for victories. The team also helps riders prepare for the future by bridging the gap from amateur to pro racing. Trettel, from Silver Springs, Florida, will compete in the 250A and 450A classes. From Brush Prairie, Washington, Currier will compete in the 250B and 450B classes.
The Xtreme Rockstar Suzuki team is currently preparing for its debut at the Lake Whitney Spring Classic which takes place on March 8-13.

AURORA, Ill. – With a first-time champion leading the way, the AMA Arenacross Series kicks off its 2010 season with two nights of exciting bar-banging action from Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich. Tuf Honda’s Jeff Gibson returns to defend his 2009 crown with a long list of challengers ready to dethrone him, including a pair of past champions.

Additionally, Ludington’s own Kelly Smith hopes to rebound from a rough 2009 season and get back atop the podium in his home state for Funmart Cycle Center KTM.
At last year’s season opener, Bobby J’s Yamaha’s Keith Johnson raced to his lone win of the 2009 season on Friday night while Spinechillers/Storm Lake Honda’s Nathan Skaggs captured his first career Arenacross class victory on Saturday to begin what would be a breakout season for the young rider.
In the AMA Arenacross Lites class, Codi Adams and Willy Browning claimed the overall victories. For Browning, it led to the Arenacross Lites East Region title.

The 2010 BAD BOYS OF ARENACROSS SERIES returns to the SUN NATIONAL BANK CENTER
(most recently known as the Sovereign Bank Arena) in Trenton, New Jersey Friday
and Saturday nights January 8th and 9th for two incredible nights. This is the
first time in two years and the spectators and racers in New Jersey and western
Pennsylvania are excited.
There are 3 chances to race or see them with the first event beginning Friday
night January 8th at 7:30pm and then twice on Saturday. The first race on
Saturday is the qualifier heats as part of the show on 2pm and then again
Saturday night at 7:30pm for the finals
The crew from Checkered Flag Productions will design a track that is challenging
to the Pro Riders but safe enough for the Amateurs to race on also.
Professional riders, some with factory backing from Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and
KTM will be going at it big bucks and who knows they just might use each other
for traction! If you think the amateur riders will race any easier think again.
With motorcycles flying through the air off jumps and banging handlebars through
the corners the edge of your seat will be all you will use.
To add to the excitement BIGFOOT and his buddies are there to race side by side
and will probably line-up and jump the AX triple jump.
