Registration Now Open for the Third Annual FLY Racing ATV Supercross at Daytona International Speedway

Courtesy of MX Sports

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (December 5, 2016) – MX Sports Pro Racing and the ATV Promoters Group (ATVPG) is pleased to announce the FLY Racing ATV Supercross will be returning on Tuesday, March 14, to Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Serving as the opening round of the 2017 ProX ATV Motocross National Championship, presented by CST Tires, an AMA National Championship, and a unique non-points paying opportunity for amateur racers, registration is now open for the third annual event.

ATVMX will take center stage for its season opener following the opening weekend of “Bike Week” in 2017. The weekend will feature the renowned Daytona Supercross by Honda on Saturday, March 11, and the popular Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross on Sunday, March 12, and Monday, March 13. The track on the infield of the speedway is legendary for its challenging terrain and demanding nature, and is often considered a challenging hybrid of a motocross and supercross track.

“Fans were treated to an epic showdown at the ATVSX last year, and we are certain the battle will only continue this year,” said Tim Cotter, director of MX Sports. “The re-designed Supercross track accommodates the ATVs perfectly and makes it a great way to kick off the pro season.”
Following the format from years past, this event will implement an elimination format that mimics a true supercross style, via heats, an LCQ  and main event for the AMA Pro ATV Class, rather than a pair of motos that determines an overall score.

Unique from the other rounds of the ATVMX season, Daytona will have a limited class line-up of 17 support classes, including youth, amateur and pro-am classes to accompany the premier AMA Pro ATV Class. However, only the professional competition will account for points towards the championship.

RacerTV.com will also be returning to ATVSX on March 14. The live streaming broadcast will offer race fans from across the world the opportunity to tune in and watch their favorite racers battle for a number one plate.

Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Dates Announced

Courtesy of MX Sports

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – MX Sports is pleased to announce that online registration is now open for the Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross (RCSX), sanctioned by AMA. For the eighth year, Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida will host the biggest two-day amateur Supercross event in the world. Amateur racing will kick off Sunday, March 12 after Saturday night's Daytona Supercross by Honda, with the finals continuing on Monday, March 13.

With 35 years of experience operating the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the historic Loretta Lynn Ranch, MX Sports always looks forward to producing this special two-day amateur supercross event at the World Center for Speed, Daytona International Speedway. Unlike the Loretta Lynn Amateur National format, riders do not need to qualify to participate at the event.

"Less than a decade ago, this was all a dream. It's hard to believe we are hosting the eighth year of amateur supercross at the famous Daytona International Speedway," said Tim Cotter, director of MX Sports. "With the help of the ‘World Center for Speed' and Ricky Carmichael, we look forward to producing this event on the same track that the best athletes in the world just competed on the night before."
The class structure includes 35 classes for youth riders on 50cc bikes all the way up to vet and senior classes. The race will follow a supercross format, using heat races and last chance qualifiers to seed the field of riders into a main event in each class, over the course of two days.

"RCSX has quickly grown into a premier amateur race, and I always look forward to returning to Daytona International Speedway in the great state of Florida," said 15-time Champion, Ricky Carmichael. "This event provides the perfect time for me to re-connect with the up-and-coming amateur racers, their families and fans. Of course, we can't forget how much fun it is to watch the guys and girls battle it out on the track in their journey to a number one plate."

Amateur riders and their families are encouraged to come down early and camp on the Daytona infield where hookups are available. Move-in, check-in and camping begins on Friday, March 10, so amateur families can watch the pros compete on Saturday night at the legendary Daytona Supercross by Honda.

To reserve your gate position for the 2017 RCSX, please click HERE.
The Eighth Annual Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Championship will take place Sunday, March 12 through Monday, March 13 at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Monday's main events will return to RacerTV.com for live broadcasts, giving race fans across the world the opportunity to tune in and watch their favorite amateur racers battle for a number one plate.

RCSX will once again serve as the opening round of the American Motocross Majors, which is composed of five premier amateur motocross events in the United States. This event will include OEM support, rider contingency, along with the industry's leading companies in attendance following the pro racing action. In addition, many long-time sponsors will provide on-site activation and support throughout the two-day event.

Ricky Carmichael's Spring National Prep Camp is set to take place the week before RCSX, March 6-10. The camp offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn from Ricky Carmichael at his personal track featuring curriculum from Carmichael's Riding Program. ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA’S GRAHAM JARVIS WINS ROOF OF AFRICA 2016

Courtesy of Husqvarna Motorcycles

Wrapping up a stellar 2016 season in the best possible way, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Graham Jarvis managed to successfully defend his Roof of Africa title taking a decisive win at the 48th edition of South Africa’s prestigious annual extreme enduro event.

Following his winning performances at Erzberg, Romaniacs, Battle of the Vikings, GetzenRodeo and Ukupacha during 2016, Jarvis entered this year’s Roof of Africa with only victory on his mind. Following a well-calculated plan he placed 17th at the ‘Round The Houses’ qualifying run, before going on to post the fastest outright time at the opening’s days closing Time Trial session.

With probably two of the season’s longest days of competition laying ahead, the British extreme enduro star knew exactly what he had to do to battle for his fourth career victory in South Africa. Launching the first bid of his attack on day two, the TE 300 mounted rider crossed the line second behind Alfredo Gomez.

Providing some nail biting action, the third and final day of competition in the mountains around Lesotho was decisive for the outcome of the event. Racing most of day three alongside Gomez, Jarvis tried to reserve as much energy as possible in order to strike as the event got close to its final stages.

Finishing the third and final day with a race time that was less than 20 seconds behind the total time of Gomez, Jarvis took full advantage of the 10-minute gap he’d created against his KTM rival during the Time Trial session to earn a well-deserved 2016 Roof of Africa victory. It was the fourth career victory for the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider at South Africa’s famous extreme enduro event.

Graham Jarvis: “To end the season with another win is just great. To be fair this year the Roof was different to any other year I’ve raced it. It was just so difficult to get a gap on anybody so I ended up riding most of the race with Gomez. I guess that was a good thing for both of us, as we were helping each other in our navigation. I knew I couldn’t get a gap on Alfredo so I prepared myself for a sprint finish towards the end, making sure I had the energy at the end to go for it. We had a great setup throughout the weekend and my Husqvarna worked great despite the heat. The terrain is always loose at the Roof and lacks grip, so it’s always a difficult race to win. It’s been a fantastic season for me and I can’t thank Rockstar Energy Husqvarna enough for their support.”

Results – 2016 Roof of Africa
1. Graham Jarvis (Husqvarna) 16:14:40
2. Alfredo Gomez (KTM) 16:14:49
3. Scott Bouverie (KTM) 16:21:56
4. Travis Teasdale (KTM) 16:23:55
5. Blake Gutzeit (Yamaha) 16:28:01
6. Brett Swanepole (Yamaha) 16:53:25
…
24. Mauritz Meiring (Husqvarna) 25:24:59

COLTON HAAKER & PASCAL RAUCHENECKER TO REPRESENT ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING AT SUPERENENDURO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Courtesy of Husqvarna Motorcycles

REIGNING WORLD CHAMP AND UP-AND-COMING ROOKIE ALL-SET FOR THRILLING 2016/17 SEWC CAMPAIGN

Featuring defending SuperEnduro World Champion and recently crowned AMA EnduroCross Champion Colton Haaker together with highly promising SuperEnduro rookie Pascal Rauchenecker, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing are fired up for success in the 2016/17 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship that kicks off in Poland on December 10th.

Following what has so far been the most successful year of his racing career, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Colton Haaker returns to the SuperEnduro World Championship with just one goal in mind – to successfully defend his title in the 2016/17 series.

Fresh off his impressive 2016 AMA EnduroCross Championship campaign where he claimed five
wins and a total of eight podium results from the eight-round series, Colton has his sights set on retaining his top form at the European-based SuperEnduro series. Racing aboard Husqvarna FE 350 machinery, he will aim for victory in each of the four rounds of the soon-to-start championship.
Austrian Pascal Rauchenecker, who is excited to continue his first year of enduro competition by making the switch to indoor competition and the SuperEnduro series, completes the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team.

Claiming three Enduro 1 podium results during his debut Enduro World Championship campaign the 23-year-old has been working hard ahead of the first SuperEnduro event in Poland.
The four-round 2016/2017 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship kicks off on December 10th, with the season opening GP of Poland taking place in Krakow’s Tauron Arena.

Colton Haaker: “I truly am excited about getting back to racing in Europe and getting my SuperEnduro championship started. Winning the title last year was incredible. I was one of three riders gunning for that championship, the fact that it came down to the last corner of the last race of the series is something I’ll never forget. I learned so much during the championship last year. I started out off the radar a little but a lot has changed since then. Winning the US Endurocross title recently has been another important step in my career. I really feel good right now and I feel like I’m in a much better place starting this SuperEnduro championship. I know the competition and the tracks will be tough, but I’m excited for the challenge. Defending my championship title is what I’m focused on, I can’t wait to get over to Poland and kick things off.”

Pascal Rauchenecker: “Competing in the SuperEnduro World Championship is something I’m really excited about. It’s something that’s completely new to me. I know I don’t have any real SuperEnduro experience, but to be a part of the series is something I’m very happy about. I’ve followed SuperEnduro and Endurocross closely this year, and have trained as much as I could after the ISDE to be ready for the first race. There’s going to be so much for me to learn, but my goal is to improve at each race and just to do my best. It’s great having Colton as my team-mate. He’s the number one rider right now, so I know I can learn from him. The first race in Poland will be a very special event for me.”

Calendar – 2016/2017 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship
Round 1: 10 December: Grand Prix of Poland (Krakow)
Round 2: 7 January: Grand Prix of Germany (Riesa)
Round 3: 4 March: Grand Prix of Euskadi (Bilbao)
Round 4: 18 March: Grand Prix of France (Albi)

RCH YOSHIMURA SUZUKI SIGNS TICKLE & BOGLE

Courtesy of Team Suzuki Press Office

RCH/ Yoshimura/ Suzuki Factory Racing have signed Broc Tickle and Justin Bogle to race Suzuki RM-Z450s in the 2017 Monster Energy AMA/ FIM World Supercross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with full factory support from Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (SMAI).

Tickle returns to the seat of the No. #20 Suzuki after spending the previous four seasons with RCH. Last season, he was fifth in the points and off to his best Pro Motocross start since 2012 before being sidelined for the final third of the campaign after suffering an injury at Spring Creek.

Bogle, the 2014 Eastern Regional 250 SX Class Champion, makes the move to RCH from Geico Honda where he will pilot the No. #19 RM-Z450. Last season, he notched one top-five and six top-10 finishes during his rookie 450 class Supercross season.

“Combining the strengths of RCH, Yoshimura and Suzuki into a single factory racing effort has been rewarding,” said Kerry Graeber, Vice President, MC/ATV Sales and Marketing for SMAI. “And with Broc returning and Justin joining the Suzuki family, we are eager for the 2017 season to begin.”

RCH is coming off its most successful season to date after finishing second in the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship and collecting its first premier class title where Ken Roczen rode the No. #94 Suzuki RM-Z450 to the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.

“Broc has been with RCH since 2013,” said RCH Racing co-founder Ricky Carmichael. “He’s one of the sport’s most respected veterans and one of those guys who gets better every year. We’re really happy to keep Broc in the mix at RCH and to bring him along with us as part of our Suzuki Factory effort. Justin won a championship in the 250 class and has shown great promise on a 450. We're excited to see how quickly he meshes with Broc, the team, and our championship-winning Suzuki RM-Z450.”

“After winning the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship this summer, we’re chomping at the bit to get back racing,” added fellow RCH Racing co-founder Carey Hart. “We have been working alongside Suzuki and Yoshimura to refine this new program for 2017. We are excited to have Broc back and to be able to bring a rider of Justin’s calibre on board.”

RCH/ Yoshimura/ Suzuki Factory Racing will be led by Team Manager Kyle Bentley and will make its 2017 debut on January 7th at the Monster Energy Supercross season opener in Anaheim, California.
