FARMINGDALE, NJ – February 15, 2011 – Bel-Ray Company, Inc.  – Bel-Ray Race Report-Houston SX

The 6th round of the Monster Energy Supercross series took place on Saturday night, February 12th at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The Bel-Ray backed teams of Two Two Motorsports and Dodge/ Hart & Huntington Racing were both in attendance, looking to improve on their prior week’s performance. Additionally, Houston marked the first round of the east coast lites series with 3 Bel-Ray sponsored racers signed up to compete.

Timed qualifying started off well on the technical track with Two Two Motorsports’, Chad Reed setting the 9th fastest time with a 49.831, followed by Dodge / Hart and Huntington teammates, Ivan Tedesco in 13th with a 50.365 and Chris Blose in 18th with a 50.959. In lites class racing, Steve Roman was 30th fastest with a 52.760, followed by Ronnie Stewart in 45th fastest with a 53.676 and Frankie Lettieri was 47th fastest with a 53.874.

The night program got underway with Chris Blose taking a direct transfer to the main event via his 8th place in Heat #1, while in Heat #2 Reed was 2nd and Tedesco was 9th. With only the 40 fastest times qualifying for the night show, only Roman was able to make the cut. Unfortunately, he finished out of the qualifying position and wouldn’t make the main event.

The main event began with both Chad Reed and Chris Blose on the ground. Tedesco got caught up in the melee and was back about mid-pack. Once off the ground, Reed started working his way through the pack, picking off riders one at a time. Tedesco too was moving forward through the field. Once off the ground, Blose was circulating the track trying to shake off an injured arm. By the end of the race, Reed worked his way up to 6th, salvaging championship points. Tedesco ended the night in 9th and Blose finished the night in 18th.

The season points standing now have Reed in 4th, Tedesco in 9th and Blose in 15th.

The series heads back west this weekend for round 7 in San Diego, California.
