Jeff Emig Returns to Ricky Carmichael University Faculty
at the Daytona Amateur Supercross
Morgantown, W.Va. (January 31, 2011) -- Ricky Carmichael University is proud to announce the return of past AMA Supercross Champion Jeff Emig as a faculty member for the 2011 school, Monday, March 7 at Daytona International Speedway.Emig will work alongside Ricky, Mrs. Carmichael and other RCU faculty members to teach the class of 100 students. The combined knowledge of this year's faculty will provide riders with expertise in all levels of the sport of Supercross.
"I am honored to be a part of RCU for the second year in a row. Last year I really enjoyed spending the day with the all of the students," said Emig. "Daytona is such a special place, I know what it's like as a pro to experience it for the first time and I can only imagine what kind of experience it is for the students."
In addition to being a past AMA Supercross Champion and Daytona Supercross winner, Emig is currently a color analyst for the SPEED and CBS coverage of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, as well as a team manager for Fox Racing.
"I'm really happy to have Jeff back as an instructor this year. Last year he provided our students with some great insight on the track and he definitely knows what he's talking about," said Carmichael, the 15-time AMA Supercross Champion. "Fro is a great guy and a huge asset to the faculty for our program."
Emig taught at RCU last year and focused on the basic foundation of starting technique, his specialty. He is one of several guest professors that will form the faculty for the Ricky Carmichael University classes at Daytona International Speedway.
"I'm going to try to bring a bike with me this year, that way I can demonstrate some of the techniques to the class," the former Daytona Supercross winner added.
Amateur riders and their families are encouraged to camp on the world famous Daytona infield, where hookups are available. Move in, sign up and camping begin on Saturday, March 5, so amateur racers and their families can watch their mx heroes compete on Saturday night in the Daytona Pro Supercross. Amateur racing takes place on Sunday, March 6, followed by Ricky Carmichael University commencing on Monday, March 7.

Ricky Carmichael is the principal of Ricky Carmichael University. Carmichael won 102 AMA Motocross Nationals and 48 AMA Supercross main events for a record 150 major wins between 1997 and 2007.
