HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Veteran Davi Millsaps
has re-signed with the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team for the 2012 racing
season. Millsaps, who claims nine amateur national titles, a Lites
Supercross Championship, wins in the premier class and numerous podium
finishes will join James Stewart in completing the 2012 Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team.
“Davi
is really talented, but has been saddled with injuries the past couple
of years. I think this is going to be a really good year for him,” said
Coy Gibbs, President of the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team.
“I am glad Davi chose to remain in the Joe Gibbs Racing family, he was riding really well until his knee injury at Red Bud
where he led half the first moto,” commented team manager Jeremy
Albrecht. “He is fully recovered from the subsequent surgery and I feel
is as prepared as he has ever been starting a new season,” he added.
“I
have a lot of confidence in the people who make up this team, and my
Yamaha is really dialed in year. With my fitness where it should be I
think we are going to have the strongest team out there,” said Millsaps.
Millsaps
and his teammate Stewart will begin the AMA Supercross Championship
Series Jan. 7, 2012 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim. Calif.
