Tentative Area Qualifier and Regional Championship Schedules Announced for
2012 Red Bull Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn Ranch
Morgantown, W. Va. (November 21, 2011) -
MX Sports, producer of the 2012 Red Bull Amateur National Motocross
Championship presented by Amsoil, announces the tentative 2012 Area
Qualifier and Regional Championship Schedules. Taking place in 32 states
throughout the country, this season's schedule of 50 Area Qualifiers
will begin February 18-19 and run through Memorial Day weekend. The 12
Regional Championships will take place in six major geographical regions
throughout the United States during the month of June.
The
Area Qualifiers serve as the first step in qualifying for the world's
largest and most prestigious amateur motocross championship. The
Regional Championships then serve as the next step to seed riders into
the National Championship at Loretta Lynn Ranch. Only riders who finish
in a qualifying position at a Regional Championship are eligible to
race the National.
"As
always, we're excited to have our Area Qualifiers and Regional
Championships at the premiere racing venues in America," said Director
of MX Sports, Tim Cotter. "Our goal at MX Sports is to schedule events
relative to our rider base, being mindful that our racing families often
travel a great distance to participate in our events."
Back
by popular demand, seven of the premier Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross
Championship tracks will return to the amateur national motocross
schedule in 2012. The schedule also boasts new venues such as South of
the Border in South Carolina, CLCR MX in Indiana and Romp MX in
Missouri, and includes a stop in Hawaii for the first time ever in
Loretta Lynn history.
The
2012 Red Bull Amateur National Motocross Championship will take place
Sunday, July 29 - Saturday, August 4 at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane
Mills, Tenn. For more information, visit the series website at www.mxsports.com.
