MORGANTOWN,
W.Va. (May 20, 2015) - MX Sports Pro Racing, Alli Sports and the Lucas
Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, announced
today that core motocross company and longtime supporter of the
nationals, FMF Racing, will expand its sponsorship of the series for the
2015 season. Highlighting the Southern California-based company's
support of the championship is title sponsorship of the FMF Glen Helen
National, the second stop on the 2015 schedule on May 23, and the
introduction of the FMF Privateer Power Award.
FMF, an acronym for Flying Machine Factory, is synonymous with the sport of motocross, with its roots as an aftermarket high-performance exhaust company firmly entrenched within off-road motorcycling for over 40 years. Throughout that time, FMF has been a mainstay supporter of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship for decades and the 2015 season served as an ideal opportunity to step up its support of the most prestigious off-road motorcycle racing series on the planet.
"This is a key sponsorship renewal for the Pro Motocross Championship," said Mark Carter, Vice President and General Manager, NBC Sports Ventures, Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. "FMF means so many things to motocross, and having them step up their partnership and take on the entitlement of the popular race at the famed Glen Helen track is a win for the entire industry."
The FMF Glen Helen National will bring the world's best riders into
the heart of the motocross industry over Memorial Day Weekend. Arguably
considered the most physically demanding and challenging track in the
world, Glen Helen Raceway is synonymous with the sport in the same vein
as FMF. The Southern California roots of both entities, and their
influential legacy in motocross, makes an ideal fit for the
championship's annual visit to San Bernardino.
As part of its title sponsorship, FMF will host a 2-Stroke Invitational at the Glen Helen National. FMF became a powerhouse within the industry by virtue of its 2-stroke exhausts and it will honor that legacy by inviting competitors, including several familiar names to longstanding fans of the sport, to fill a full 40-rider gate and put on a show for the Glen Helen spectators with a 20-minute moto preceding the start of the FMF Glen Helen National. The sound and smell of the 2-strokes will fill the many caverns of the track, in the shadow of the iconic Mt. Saint Helens.
FMF will also be represented in both the 250 and 450 Classes, providing exhausts for several of the championship's top teams, including the defending 250 Class Champion squad of Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing, Autotrader.com/Toyota/Yamaha, Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/KTM and BTO Sports KTM.

"Supporting and sponsoring the Pro Motocross Championship is part of FMF's identity and the opportunity to step up our efforts this season by partnering with a track we have supported for equally as long in Glen Helen made perfect sense," said Donny Emler Jr., FMF Marketing Director. "Our company's success was founded on developing exhausts for 2-strokes, so to host an invitational alongside the National will be something special for all the hardcore fans and enthusiasts in SoCal."
In addition to the Glen Helen National, FMF will also provide series-wide support with the introduction of the FMF Privateer Power Award. Throughout the season, FMF will recognize the privateers that continue to overcome the odds at each round in pursuit of their racing dreams. Whether it‘s a tough race, some financial hardship or another obstacle, FMF will pay tribute to the core of the competitors in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship that keep fighting through it all each and every weekend by any means necessary.
