Regional Championships for Loretta Lynn’s Begin on May 30
PAYSON, UT (May
18, 2015) – The next step of the journey to the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC
AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn Ranch
(commonly referred to as Loretta Lynn’s) takes place on May 30 with the
first Regional Championships. All riders who pre-register for a Regional
Championship will receive a $20 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC gift card as part
of the Fast Track program.
Riders
who qualified at an applicable Area Qualifier will be able to compete
in the corresponding Regional Championship. A total of 13 Regional
Championships will be held in eight regions across the United States
between May 30 and June 28. The first Regional Championships will be
held May 30-31 at Birch Creek in Sutherlin, VA; Freestone Raceway in
Wortham, TX; and Glen Helen in San Bernardino, CA.
“The
end of spring and the beginning of summer brings with it the most
competitive time of the year for the AMA Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Amateur
Motocross Regionals. This is the biggest hurdle for the estimated 8,000
regional entries,” said MX Sports Director Tim Cotter. “Our Regional
Championship organizers have been planning for months to host these
prestigious events.”
“Loretta
Lynn’s represents the pinnacle of our sport at the amateur level,” said
Dan Thomas, CEO and Founder of Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. “As the title
sponsor, we want to congratulate all racers who have qualified for a
Regional Championship and wish them luck as they attempt to qualify for
the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship in
July.”
Those
who have qualified for a Regional Championship must pre-register online
in order to guarantee their spot. In order to help offset the costs of
participating, Rocky Mountain ATV/MC will provide one $20 gift card to
each rider who pre-registers. Riders are eligible for one gift card for
every Regional Championship they pre-register for. Gift cards are mailed
to eligible racers after each Regional Championship has ended. This is
part of the Fast Track program which was implemented last year with
great success.
Pre-registration is currently open and closes the Monday before each Regional Championship. Please see http://mxsports.com/pages/regional-championship-registration for more details.
About the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship
The
Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at
Loretta Lynn Ranch is the world’s largest and most prestigious amateur
motocross racing program. The national qualifying program consists of 57
Area Qualifiers (February through May) and 13 Regional Championships
(May through June), hosted at select motocross facilities across the
country. The qualifying system culminates in the National Final (last
week of July) hosted annually since 1982 at the home of country music
star Loretta Lynn in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Nearly 20,000 racers attempt
to qualify in 38 classes for the 1,482 available positions at the
National. Christened “The World’s Greatest Motocross Vacation,” the
National event serves as a launch pad for some of the biggest names in
professional motocross and supercross, including Ricky Carmichael, James
Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Ryan Dungey. The national program is
produced by MX Sports, Inc., a West Virginia-based race production
company and sanctioned by AMA. For more information, please visit www.MXSports.com.
