BAGGETT KNOCKED-OUT OF FOXBOROUGH SUPERCROSS

Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing’s Blake Baggett had a tough outing at the weekend’s Foxborough AMA/ FIM World Supercross in New England after getting caught-up in unavoidable crashes in both the Semi and Last Chance Qualifier, which cost him any shot in making the Main Event.

Baggett started-out the day well by qualifying his Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 in seventh place with a time of 1:02.906. From there he ran a solid pace in the second qualifying Heat race of the day, but came home fifth, just one position short of qualifying straight into the Main.

In his Semi, the 24-year-old Californian was en-route to qualifying when a rider crashed in front of him in a whoop section, with the bike cartwheeling sideways in front of him, leaving Baggett nowhere to go: He collided with the bike and crashed.

He then got back underway quickly, but in the short race he was only able to come back to sixth, putting him into the LCQ.

Right off the gate in the LCQ, Baggett was in the middle of the pack when he was caught-up in a multi-rider crash going into the first turn, damaging his Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing RM-Z450; and his day was done.

The team now moves on to New Jersey and MetLife Stadium for next weekend’s penultimate round of the series.
