Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Colton Haaker had a podium night at the Denver Endurocross, the third round of the series, on Saturday. After dominating the bracket race and earning the extra championship point, he rode a solid main event to finish second.
Haaker was fifth at the start of the gate pickup race before pushing through the pack to finish second and earn a spot in the bracket races. He pulled the holeshot in all three of his bracket races before taking the win in the final to earn the important additional championship point.
He was mid-pack at the start of the main then made the pass for third in the rock pile shortly after the start. He worked his way into second by the end of the second lap, then put his head down and caught the leader in the 11th lap before making the pass for the lead. He stayed in the lead for the next few laps before taking the no-joke lane in the final lap, which put him back to second. He put in a charge in the last half of the final lap and finished a strong second place.
Haaker: “Denver was great. I did awesome in the bracket races and am happy to get that extra point. I’m looking forward to the next race in Washington."
The team will now take a week off before returning for the fourth round of the series being held on October 14 in Everett, Wash.
