Madera, CA (February 17, 2018) – The 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series continues to bring us entertaining racing with fan filled events. One major take-away from this past weekend of racing, is H.E.P. Motorsports riders Henry Miller and Kyle Cunningham making it into the main event. This season’s ceiling continues to look high as H.E.P. Motorsports preps for Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
H.E.P. Motorsports riders Dustin Pipes, Henry Miller, and Kyle Cunningham all started off Friday with press events in the morning and afternoon. Friday night H.E.P. Motorsports attended the local Suzuki dealer Arlington Motorsports for another jam packed autograph signing. This event gave Dustin, Henry and Kyle the opportunity to promote our sponsors and meet the fans one on one.
Rider Key Takeaways-
Henry Miller: Missing the week prior to San Diego due to a grade 1 right shoulder injury, Henry wasn’t expected to ride. However, with grit and determination, Henry showed up to Dallas ready to ride and made the night show without any problem. In his 450 heat race, Henry jumped out in front with a great start into ninth place, as the race progressed Henry dropped back to 12th and was forced to ride the LCQ. When the 450 LCQ gate dropped, Henry continued to get the starts that were accustomed to seeing, getting the jump and putting himself in second place. During the race Henry rode smart and stayed consistent as he held on to a third place transfer position throughout the race. After a long night off riding and putting himself to the test, the pain in his injured right shoulder injury finally caught up to him. With a few laps to go, Henry had to pull out of the 450 main event and was scored in 22nd position.
Kyle Cunningham: Kyle Cunningham continued to perform in Arlington. Making it into the night show with ease, Kyle looked to impress his hometown crowd; racing in three out of the four 450 events available, (450 heat #2, 450 LCQ, and 450 Main Event) Kyle had a busy night. In his 450 heat class filled with talent we saw Kyle jump out to a great top ten start, however as the race progressed Kyle found himself caught behind crashes which dropped him back to 13th place. Only four spots shy of qualifying for the main event. Kyle lined up for the 450 LCQ. When the 450 LCQ gate dropped we really saw how resilient Kyle can be. After getting caught behind a down rider in the first corner; and seeing the top 4 qualifying positions separate from the pack; the night looked to be over for Kyle. With under four minutes to go, Kyle raced hard and smart, coming from as far back as 18th to 6th. With the white flag waving Kyle charged his way through the track catching and passing the final two riders ahead of him for the last transfer position. In the 450 main event Kyle continued to ride hard and smart for a 19th place finish.
Dustin Pipes: The night ended early for Dustin, missing the night show by a half a second. With another week of practice, look for Dustin to get back to the results were accustomed to seeing from him next week in Tampa, Florida.
Tallon LaFountaine: The 250 West Series is on a break until the 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series moves to Indianapolis, where the East and West series will collide.
The 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross continues this weekend in Tampa, Florida. The season continues to bring us entertaining racing with fan filled events. H.E.P. Motorsports looks for team riders, Henry Miller, Kyle Cunningham and Dustin Pipes to build on their performance from race to race. With our riders healthy and in a groove, Tampa looks to be filled with results for H.E.P. Motorsports.
