Langenthal, Switzerland - March 15, 2018 - Arriving at the highly challenging Valkensward circuit in The Netherlands for round two of the 2018 FIM Motocross World Championship this coming weekend, MOTOREX supported teams and riders return to European soil following a wealth of success enjoyed across the MXGP and MX2 classes at the series-opening MXGP of Patagonia, Argentina. With no fewer than five MOTOREX supported riders finishing on the MXGP and MX2 class podiums, all eyes are now set on the first European round of the 2018 series taking place at the famous Valkenswaard circuit.
Spearheading MOTOREX' representation in the Motocross World Championship were the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team riders. With Jeffrey Herlings topping the MXGP standings after a dramatic last lap pass on his teammate Antonio Cairoli, the two Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders placed on the first two steps on the final MXGP podium. Dominating both motos in the MX2 category, KTM 250 SX-F mounted Pauls Jonass was the overall winner in the 250cc class.
Continuing their support of the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team, MOTOREX saw team rider Clément Desalle round out the overall MXGP podium in third, making it an all-MOTOREX podium. Remaining consistent around the fast Nequén track, the Kawasaki KX450F-SR powered rider made a strong start to his 2018 campaign in Argentina with two third-place moto result.
Announcing a strategic global partnership with Husqvarna Motorcycles at the start of 2018, MOTOREX were pleased to see the brand's official representative in the Motocross World Championship – the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team - wrap up the season opener with a podium result. Securing two top three moto results, team member Thomas Kjer-Olsen claimed second overall in the 250cc MX2 class.
With MOTOREX' support expanding to more than 11 different teams in both the MXGP and MX2 classes for 2018, the Swiss lubricants, care and maintenance products manufacturer looks forward to a successful year ahead.
