Bill's Pipes is back

Longtime Exhaust Manufacturer Launches New Website Marking its Return

CORONA, Calif. Feb 25, 2013 – Bill’s Pipes, Inc., a legendary name in the motocross industry, today announced the launch of a brand-new website and return to the motocross exhaust market. The new website showcases a full line of performance exhausts for 2-stroke and 4-stroke dirt bikes, and officially kicks off the re-birth of the company.
“I am extremely excited about the website and for the revival of Bill’s Pipes,” said owner and founder of Bill’s Pipes, Bill Cervera. “We have been working really hard this past year to bring manufacturing back up to par and produce new and innovative exhausts to reestablish ourselves as one of the top exhaust manufactures.” With more than 35 years of manufacturing high performance exhausts under his belt, Cervera knows a thing or two about making power and winning races, allowing multiple championship seasons to be proof enough. With the launch of the new website, Bill’s Pipes will once again be available to the motocross community and gives riders a new and proven option for performance. Bill’s Pipes will initially offer their highly regarded 2-stroke exhaust systems for most 85cc and 250cc models, but is working to have a full line available for 85cc, 125cc, and 250cc models later this year. A complete line of slip on and full system exhaust systems will also
be offered for 4-stroke models.
Cervera continued, “We have really been testing a lot with our 4-stroke exhausts since that is what everyone is riding these days, and are excited for the new things that are coming out real soon. We have already been working with top riders to develop some really neat and innovative exhausts.”
There is also rumor of a completely new high-performance 4-stroke exhaust system to be launching in the coming months. Along with the full exhaust line, Bill’s Pipes will also offer various parts and accessories, including an exclusive custom designed M2 Work Stand by Matrix Concepts.
The SA-4 exhaust system can already be seen mounted on some riders’ bikes in the premier AMA Supercross racing series, and has already garnered much praise from riders and teams alike. With all manufacturing done under one roof in Southern California, Bill’s Pipes is centrally located in the hub of the motocross industry, allowing for extensive testing and the ability to constantly push the boundaries of what is possible in terms of performance.
Visit the new Billspipes.com for more information about the company and its performance products, or call (951)371-1329.
About Bill’s Pipes, Inc.
Founded in 1976, Bill’s Pipes is a company remembered and known as an innovator in the motocross industry, garnering countless championships in its 2-stroke heydays. Bill Cervera, the brain child behind the brand, has been building high performance motorcycle exhausts for more than 35 years and has worked with countless top riders and just about every motorcycle manufacture. During the 1990’s, Bill’s Pipes was at the pinnacle of success, sponsoring many top teams, and selling thousands of their highly sought after 2-stroke pipes. As the 2-stroke market faded and 4-stroke motorcycles came to dominate the scene, Bill’s Pipes took a step back, but
never stopped building. On somewhat of an almost decade-long hiatus, Bill’s Pipes continued to build exhausts for other top brands in the industry. In 2012, Cervera decided to plan a return to the motocross market and in 2013 re-launched the brand to once again be a dominant force in the aftermarket performance exhaust market. A newly revamped company, workforce, and manufacturing process, will allow Bill’s Pipes to cater to every customer and build the brand back to where it left off. Velocity 3 Atlanta SX Report

Velocity 3 Yamaha : Atlanta Supercross Report
Chicopee, MA (February 25, 2013) - Another packed house of nearly 69,000 fans filled the Georgia Dome in Atlanta to watch Round 8 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series.  For Velocity 3 Yamaha it would be the #39 of Bobby Kiniry who would put the team and his YZ450F out front.
In the first 450 heat race of the night, Bobby Kiniry was mired toward the back of the pack and completed the first lap back in the 15th position.  Despite a valiant effort and passing a handful of riders Bobby would come up short of a qualifying position and would need to race the LCQ to keep his Main event string alive.
If there’s a rider that knows how to get the holeshot in the LCQ it’s Kiniry”, expressed commentator Jeff Emig during the live Speed TV broadcast.  Kiniry and Factory Honda rider Trey Canard battled for several laps with Kiniry in the number one position.  Canard was able to get by a few laps later but it was a great race for Kiniry overall who transferred to the main following Canard across the finish line.
With the last gate pick for the Main event Kiniry could not duplicate his holeshot from earlier.  Despite just finishing the LCQ minutes prior, Bobby showed determination and speed and worked his way up from the back of the pack.  At the half-way point in the race Kiniry had worked his way up to the 13th position and was gaining ground on the riders in front of him. Unfortunately, Bobby would suffer a flat rear tire and be forced out of the race at that point.
Despite the bad luck in the Main, Kiniry was clearly one of the fastest riders in Atlanta and is determined to improve his results as the series moves to St. Louis, MO next weekend.

Following a heat race victory, Millsaps started in the top five and was in third place early in the 20-lap main event. During the race, he held off challenges from fourth-place rider Justin Barcia while still keeping sight of the leaders in case they made a mistake; but that mistake never came, and Millsaps raced to his seventh podium finish in the first eight races.

Kyle Chisholm Joins the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team

Courtesy of JGRMX

Chisholm Will Substitute for Josh Grant
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 21, 2013) – Kyle Chisholm will join the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team beginning this Saturday for round eight of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Atlanta, Ga.  Chisholm, already riding a Yamaha in the series will substitute for Josh Grant.
Grant was injured at the third Anaheim round of the tour suffering a broken ankle and a shoulder contusion.  Grant heroically attempted to race the previous two rounds but was unable to due to the pain his shoulder was generating.  Upon reevaluation by his doctors it was found that a rare condition was present within the shoulder that requires surgery to correct.  Grant will return to racing once he is fully recovered and fit for competition.
“Josh showed a ton of heart trying to ride through this shoulder injury, not to mention his ankle,” said team owner Coy Gibbs.  “His health is the main concern, he should be 100 percent for the outdoors.  In the meantime we are excited to have Kyle come on board.  He was available and already familiar with the Yamaha so it’s a perfect fit,” Gibbs added.
"I am really excited. I can't thank Jeremy, Coy and the whole JGRMX team enough for giving me this opportunity!  I can't wait to get on the bike, get out there and do my best! I also want to wish Josh all the best on his recovery!" said Chisholm.
Kyle will join Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX rider Justin Brayton this Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga.  SPEED will air the entire race live starting at 7:30 p.m. (EST).  Supercross Live will begin streaming from Atlanta at 2:00 p.m. (EST) on supercrossonline.com.

Velocity 3 Racing Releases Kyle Chisholm

Courtesy of V3 Racing

Velocity 3 Yamaha PR Chicopee, MA - Velocity 3 Yamaha, a team that came together only weeks before the opening round of Supercross, has released Kyle Chisholm from his contract. During the time V3R experienced financial strains, as expected sponsors monies had not materialized, Kyle Chisholm was presented with an opportunity to change teams while remaining on his preferred, and accustomed, YZ450F.

Kyle has been nothing short of a true professional for V3R and the team honored his request for release. Kyle will join the JGRMX team for the SX season in place of the injured Josh Grant. We know Kyle will have a great season and wish him the best.

Velocity 3 Yamaha will continue its racing efforts (a decision to fill Kyle’s spot has not be determined) and will have their full support behind Bobby Kiniry. Bobby Kiniry is having his best Supercross season; making the main in all but one round. Kiniry has been up front at times throughout the season and the New Yorker brings a level of personal determination that surely will improve his results as the series shifts to East Coast.

AG Motorsports Dallas Race Report

Courtesy of  AG Motorsports

Arlington, TX – With the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series heading east, it was time for new stars to shine as the 250 SX Eastern Region kicked off in the Lone Star State at Cowboy Stadium. Under the lights of the $1 billion stadium and with a live broadcast, excitement filled the chilly air and everyone was making their predictions for who was going to come out on top. But on this night, AG Motorsports rider #50 Kyle Peters was going to be the dark horse that surprised many.

With a solid performance in Heat 1, Kyle finished 6th and was just warming up for the Main Event.
When the gates dropped for the Main, Kyle grabbed a handful of throttle on his Dragon Racing Fuels powered Honda and took the Holeshot Award before finally giving up the top position to Wilson by the end of lap one. With Wharton, Thompson, and Hahn within striking distance, Kyle stayed in the battle and fought hard before Wharton made his move and took the position bringing Thompson along with him. When Thompson went down, Kyle picked up the 3rd position again and held it for most of the race until Hahn made his move on lap 12 to take the final podium spot. Kyle stayed in the hunt all the way to the checkered and finished 4th.

“Had an awesome weekend and am pumped for the way the season started” stated Peters. “Now, I just have to keep it going… I’m really looking forward to Atlanta.”

“Today went very well for us," said Al Albiker, Team Manager. “We could not have scripted it much better. We are very fortunate to have Kyle on our team. He is everything you could ask for in a rider. He works hard, he listens, and he wants it. I think we work well together and of course our goal is to improve week to week.  We are building something here and are working day and night to give Kyle everything he needs.”

Renegade Arlington Report

Courtesy of Renegade Fuels

Arlington, TX USA February 16, 2013. The eastern swing of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship got underway Saturday night in the Lone Star state, where 55,000 enthusiastic fans saw red, the same red we've seen since round 1 - on the number plate of Rockstar Suzuki fueled by Renegade ace Davi Millsaps. The night was full of mini triumphs and epic disappointments and though consistent, Millsap's 450sx performance was anything but business as usual. Winning his heat race and pulling the hole-shot in the main, the 7th round's top qualifier and championship points leader battled the flu before battling the competition en route to the second step on the podium and continued championship lead. Yoshimura Suzuki fueled by Renegade's James Stewart has clearly returned to form as he posted his second consecutive heat win on the strength of good starts and smooth fast riding - but his night's momentum was quashed by a freak clutch failure that kept him from lining up for the main. Broc Tickle did line up for the main and continued adding to his consistent string of main top-10's on his Rockstar fueled by Renegade Suzuki.

Texas stadium also kicked-off the 250sx Monster Energy Supercross Eastern Region championship, where an all-new group of challengers did battle for rights to hold their championship's first lead. Rockstar Suzuki fueled by Renegade challenger Blake Wharton had his own challenges early on, missing out on the final transfer spot in his heat with a last turn fall. The 250sx standout fought back strong, taking the LCQ win in front of Honda rider and Renegade stable-mate Zack Bell; then just missing out on the hole-shot, he charged his way up to a second place in the main and the same spot in the 250sx Eastern Region championship. Honda fueled by Renegade riders Wil Hahn and Jimmy Decotis weathered the crash-filled 250sx heats to capture 'opener top 10's in the main and the championship standings.
Several Renegade fueled privateers also had outstanding outings in Texas, with Jimmy Decotis and Cole Thompson finishing 3rd and 4th respectively in heat race 1 and Vince Friese, Levi Kilbarger and Brad Ripple covering 2nd through 4th respectively in heat 2; in all, 50 percent of the combined 250sx and 450sx top-20 finishers were fueled by Renegade.

Decotis Back at Monster Energy Supercross

Cowboys Stadium Arlington, TX Round #7 of the AMA MONSTER ENERGY SUPERCROSS:

Supercross headed to Arlington, TX for the first round of the 250 east coast lites class. Dedicated Athletics rider Jimmy DeCotis #613 found himself back racing after sitting out 2012 with injury. Despite being out of racing, DeCotis qualified 10th out of 53 entries. In his heat race (Heat #1), DeCotis started near the inside gate. DeCotis clipped a tuff block and bounced off another rider heading around the first turn. DeCotis held it on and came out in 5th. DeCotis put in a solid ride and finish third!
In the main event, DeCotis again would line up towards the inside gate. Not getting the best of starts, DeCotis found himself near the back of the pack. DeCotis quickly moved forward as the race progressed. After some passing and a few crashes by other riders, DeCotis crossed the finish in 8th place!
Dedicated Athletics is extremely proud to be a part of DeCotis’ racing efforts. We look forward to next week as the series heads to Atlanta, Ga. We would like to thank High Octane Harley Davidson, Fox, Spectro Oils, Pro Circuit, 100%, Ryno Power, DC Shoes, Factory Connection, Ever Rev, CRF Stuff, Hinson, Dunlop and Renthal for being a part of DeCotis’ return to racing!

Velocity3 Race Report

Courtesy of Velocity 3

Chicopee, MA - After a great week of testing, Velocity 3 Yamaha anticipated strong results coming into the San Diego Supercross.  The team, with the backing of Factory Yamaha, has put in impressive performances this year despite the team coming together just weeks prior to the season opener in Anaheim.
V3R racer Kyle Chisholm (#11) looked fast all week aboard his YZ450F and and a top 10 was certainly in his sights.  Unfortunately, early in the day during practice, Kyle had a bad crash exiting a rhythm section that bit many riders throughout the night and he slammed the ground hard on his left side.  Kyle was taken to the Asterisk Medical Center and was ruled out of action for the rest of the evening.  Battered and bruised, Kyle remains optimistic he’ll be able to race this coming weekend in Texas.
Fortunately, Kyle’s teammate, the stoic and determined Bobby Kiniry (#39) would do himself and the V3R team proud at San Diego.  As a new father, Bobby has been busy juggling testing, traveling and parenting but his busy calendar and lack of sleep was not apparent each time he threw a leg over his YZ.  Bobby got a mid-pack start in 450 Heat #1 and skillfully raced his way past other riders on the tight, short San Diego track transferring directly to the Main.
In the Main, Bobby would suffer from a poor start and bottlenecks with other riders; after the first lap he was back in the 20th position.   Putting his laps down and trying to make up time, Bobby was able to get by a few riders and finish the night in 16th; not where he expected but with strong lap times and encouraged by his speed leading into the next weekend.
V3R thanks those supporters of the team including Yamaha Motor Corporation, Yamalube, GYTR, DRD, Dunlop, Costa Rica Unlimited, Ironclad, Ride Engineering, Moto-Master, Twin Air, Athena, Cycra, DID, Dubya, ICW, 360 Unlimited, Pro Taper, Supersprox, Works Connection, Matrix, Hinson, Motoseat, Renagade Fuel, STS Graphics, and Freegun Underwear.

Fueled by Renegade Supercross Race Report

The San Diego round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross was a great night for Renegade fueled riders.

San Diego, CA - February 9, 2013. The Monster Energy Supercross Championship bided farewell to its western states tour with an awesome night of racing witnessed by an enthusiastic 55,000 plus in attendance.
The afternoon warmth of day turned to down-right chilly night, as rider introductions were made shortly after dark for round six of the premier AMA championship. A favorite stop for many of the teams, Renegade fueled riders were on form from the start, setting fast qualifying time going into the heats under the Qualcomm stadium lights.
Yoshimura Suzuki fueled by Renegade star James Stewart found early form, charging to the 450sx heat-1 win after stocking then passing Suzuki/Renegade stable mate Davi Milsaps for the lead. But the main quickly turned into the Davi Milsaps show, as the Rockstar Suzuki fueled by Renegade ace rocketed into the lead, landing him Holeshot honors en route to his wire-to-wire romp. James Stewart looked to be mending well from his nagging injuries as he rode to a very competitive fourth overall. With his second victory of the season and a string of consistent rides, Milsaps is on form to keep the coveted red plate as the circus now heads to the weather battered east for round seven.
Renegade fueled team domination continued in the 250sx Western Region Championship, with Rockstar Suzuki fueled by Renegade rising star Jason Anderson snatching the 250sx Holeshot award and the final podium spot in the main. Geico Honda fueled by Renegade championship contender Eli Tomac returned to the form that put him in the early season championship lead, riding a near flawless race that came down to a few bike lengths at the flag. Tomac moves to within 17 points of the championship lead as the 250sx teams take a scheduled break before picking up the fight in Seattle. Austin Politelli (Honda/Renegade), Kyle Cunningham (Yamaha/Renegade) and Zach Osborne (Honda/Renegade) rounded out the 250sx main top ten.
