AURORA, Ill. – Feld Motor Sports® announced
today that Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) will become one of the
newest sponsors of AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road
to Supercross. This multi-year agreement is MMI’s first sponsorship of
AMSOIL Arenacross.
At the core of MMI’s support of the world’s most intense racing is
the MMI/Ricky Carmichael Scholarship, which awards $20,000 to help a
deserving recipient attend the nation’s leading provider of
post-secondary education for students seeking careers as professional
motorcycle technicians. Additionally, MMI’s presence will be seen at the
races through track signage, jumbotron commercials, PA announcements,
and exhibit space at the Monster Energy Track Party.
“I have been fortunate to make a career and achieve my dreams through
motorcycle racing, and the MMI/Ricky Carmichael Scholarship will
provide an aspiring motorcycle technician the opportunity to follow his
dreams,” said five-time Monster Energy Supercross Champion Ricky
Carmichael. “This is a great way for the fans of AMSOIL Arenacross to
pursue a career as a motorcycle technician”
“Feld Entertainment® is excited to announce for the first
time that Motorcycle Mechanics Institute has signed a multi-year
agreement with AMSOIL Arenacross,” said Ryan McSpadden, Vice President
of Sales for Feld Entertainment. “We are looking forward to expanding
MMI’s commitment to the motorcycle technician into AMSOIL Arenacross.”
With rigorous, hands-on training that integrates technologies and
procedures used by dealerships across the country, MMI’s core program is
considered the industry gold standard for motorcycle technician
education. With campuses in Phoenix, Ariz., and Orlando, Fla., MMI’s
specialized curriculum features partnerships with the industry’s most
recognizable brands, including brands commonly used in AMSOIL Arenacross
competition Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha.
“Many of the technicians participating in AMSOIL Arenacross received
their education at MMI and it has correlated to success out on the
track,” added Mike Muye, Director of AMSOIL Arenacross. “Thanks to MMI’s
support, one of the fans attending a round of action during the 2014
season could very well become a future technician in AMSOIL Arenacross.”
“MMI bridges our students’ love for motorcycles into rewarding
careers,” said Jocelyn Omen, Market Segment Manager, Universal Technical
Institute. “Through the partnership with AMSOIL Arenacross, we can
share our passion for motorcross with some of the most fervent racing
enthusiasts around, as well as open the door to potential students
looking to gain the professional training and experience necessary to
work on the industry’s most prestigious brands.”
AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross,
will have all 12 rounds of the arena-based North American off-road
