January 7, 2014 – iON America, the company that brought Shoot/Share™ Wi-Fi connectivity to point-of-view (POV) cameras, today announced that seven-time AMA Supercross Champion Jeremy McGrath—considered
an icon in the Supercross and Motocross communities—has joined Team
iON, the growing roster of pro athletes using iON cameras.
McGrath will be signing autographs with iON America at CES 2014
on Wednesday, January 8 at two locations: from 11am to 1pm at the WYNIT
Distribution booth #31412 and from 2pm to 3pm at the Trading Unlimited
booth #14446 in the Central Hall.
With seven Supercross titles—a feat no other racer in Supercross
history has even come close to—plus two additional 125 Western Region
Supercross Championships, one 250 Outdoor National Championship and two
FIM World Supercross Championships—McGrath is credited with catapulting
the sport of Supercross into the mainstream.
While he has retired from Supercross, McGrath is currently one of the
top drivers in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series in addition to a
Honda factory test rider and avid mountain bike rider.
“iON is allowing me to provide a first-person view of my racing
experiences to my fans. I’ll be using an iON Air Pro 3 camera with the
newly-announced Techmounts system to capture and share video and stills
that would otherwise be impossible to get,” McGrath said. “I’m
incredibly impressed with iON cameras. They are easy to use and able to
withstand the rigors of motocross racing. I look forward to pushing
these cameras to their limits.”
McGrath joins current Team iON members, which include freestyle
motocross biker Clinton Moore; snowboarders Kelly Clark, Sarka
Pancochova and Scotty Lago; freeskiers Nick Goepper and James “Woodsy”
Woods; BMX dirt biker Corey Bohan; big-wave surfer Reef McIntosh; and
skateboarder Manny Santiago.
