KENNESAW, GA. (Feb. 6, 2017) – Ronnie Stewart and the MicroBilt/PRBC Yoshimura Suzuki
wrapped up another great race weekend of hosting sponsors, meeting new fans and putting in
dozens of competitive laps in spite of challenging conditions at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in Oakland, California.
The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series made its final stop in the Golden State Saturday night, and an enthusiastic crowd of 47,061 braved the weather to watch some entertaining races.
Stewart turned in another strong performance in qualifying, using the ample power of his MicroBilt/PRBC Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 to clock a time of 1:09.418, placing him 30th of 48 riders and once again punching his ticket into the evening program.
At that point, the on and off rain began to take a toll on track conditions and Stewart found the going treacherous. Even with the challenges Stewart rallied in the LCQ and came close to making the main.

“We had to contend with the weather. It was on and off rain throughout the day making the track very rutted and changing from lap to lap. You would jump and land in ruts, so it was a bit scary.
“In my semi I finished eighth and in the LCQ finished sixth. It felt good to make passes and move forward. It was good going into the first turn in the LCQ and then the guy in front of me rolled the first jump and that completely messed me up because I was directly behind him. The pack doubled the jump and I found myself buried back in the field. I was able to move up and get to within two spots of qualifying for the main event.”
“All in all, we’ll take the positives. We also had a really good day with company business, hosting 38 clients here in Oakland,” Stewart added. Stewart came away with some newfound confidence in his ability to make passes in rapid succession, something he’ll take with him
into the next round. The series now moves to the breathtaking AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“I’m looking forward to heading east,” Stewart said. “I love racing on the west coast, but the tracks and surfaces we race on back east really make me feel at home.”
Stewart and Team MicroBilt/PRBC Yoshimura Suzuki now shift focus to round six of the 17-race series this Saturday Feb. 11, at AT&T Stadium. It will mark the second consecutive afternoon race of the championship. The action can be seen via tape delay on FS1 at 7:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. ET.
