July 12.

Justin Bogle (RCH Yoshimura Suzuki) 9-13 for 10th
Justin Barcia (JGR Autotrader Suzuki) 12-12 for 11th
Weston Peick (JGR Autotrader Suzuki) 36-8 for 14th

RCH Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing’s Justin Bogle endured a trio of crashes and a late-race brake issue, but still managed to make the most of a challenging day to finish 10th overall in the weekend’s Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Red Bull Southwick National at The Wick 338 in America.

Bogle’s RCH teammate Broc Tickle was sidelined for the event after being diagnosed with a shoulder injury following Round 6 that will keep him off his factory-backed Suzuki for the remainder of the Pro Motocross season.

Despite battling his share of adversity, the rider of the # 19 Suzuki RM-Z450 turned in a 9-13 performance but only lost one spot in points where he now sits sixth in the standings, 15 points outside the top five.

Said Bogle: “This weekend wasn’t that great, but all things considered, it ended up being ok. Fortunately, we managed to finish 10th overall. I had a first-lap crash in the first moto and a first turn crash in the second. The second moto was miserable: First turn crash and then I crashed again after I passed a few people. I had to pass everyone again after I’d already passed them once and then about 20 minutes into the moto, my back brake had an issue. I was definitely glad when the chequered flag waved and the race was over with.

“All in all, I’m out of there healthy and I still feel very good with everything. I just kind of had one of those off-weekends. Not much I could do about the first moto and the second moto… stuff happens. I’ll get back to work this week, pull it back together and come in after the break and get back up front.”

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship heads into the second weekend off this season before returning to action in two weeks at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minnesota.

JGR AUTOTRADER SUZUKI:

Justin Barcia continued his run of strong starts, coming out with top-10s in both motos. Unfortunately, Lady Luck had the upper hand on this day. While running fourth in the opening moto, Barcia’s bike ran out of fuel on the last lap. He was scored 12th when all was said and done. In the second moto, he came out in third place. However, a mechanical issue hampered his advance early in the race. By the end of the moto, Barcia crossed the line in 12th and finished 11th overall on the day.

Like Barcia, it was a ‘should have, could have, would have’ day for Weston Peick. The SoCal native suffered a mechanical issue while running a torrid pace in fourth. A 36th place moto finish meant a difficult gate choice for the second moto, but that didn’t dissuade him from putting up a fight to make amends: He blasted out of the gate and into 11th place by the end of the opening lap and worked up to eighth position by the time the chequered flag flew. His 36-8 moto scores netted him 14th overall.
