Payson, UT (June 18, 2018) – After a week off, the fourth round of the 2018 Pro Motocross Championship series made its first appearance on the East Coast at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, PA, this past weekend. Blake Baggett put on a heroic charge to finish 7th, while Benny Bloss continued to show his speed with an 8th place finish.

Fresh from the break, Blake Baggett was on the gas during qualifying and showed the rest of the field the fast way around the High Point track to grab the top 450MX qualifier spot. As the gate for moto 1 dropped, his race unwound right at the start as Blake got tangled in a first turn pileup and went down. After remounting his KTM, the FMF Racing-sponsored rider dug deep and proceeded to put on the charge of the race from last place. He put in a series of fast laps, slicing his way through the field to work his way to 5th place by the checkered flag.
The second moto started with Blake rounding the first turn in 4th and held that position until the large set of rollers where he tucked the front end in mud from water laid down right before the start. Just like the first moto, he would once again remount in dead last and charged all the way up to 7th by the finish. His 5-7 score earned him 7th overall and 5th place in championship points, just one point out of 4th.
“Today didn’t go as planned,” said Baggett. “I had the speed to run up front and felt like I had a chance at the overall today. We will regroup and come back strong next weekend at Muddy Creek.”

The start to Benny Bloss‘s day didn’t begin easily as he was caught up in the same first-turn pileup as his teammate in moto 1. Benny remounted quickly and focused his charge to the front. Pulling a tear-off from his Scott goggles, he put his head down and with a blistering pace worked his way inside the top ten within four laps. The Acerbis-sponsored rider kept the pace, making a few more passes to finish 6th at the end of the moto.
Benny fared better off the start in moto 2, rounding the first turn inside the top ten. He continued to battle as the ODI-supported rider worked his way forward to 8th place at the checkered flag. A 6-8 score earned him 8th overall for the weekend, and he holds down 7th place in championship points.
“I’m happy with my ride today,” said Bloss. “While I went down in the first moto, I showed that I am a front-runner with my speed. I’m ready for another top-five finish at Tennessee next weekend.”
Dakota Alix did not suit up at High Point as both Dakota and the team opted to take an extra week for him to be 100 percent for his return at the Tennessee National.
Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS now travels to Blountville, TN, for round five of the 2018 Pro Motocross Nationals at Muddy Creek Raceway on June 23.
