The story of LOP privateer Marty Moates' special day in the upcoming film has never been told like this before.
FULLERTON, CALIF. (October 26th, 2009) – The documentary about the historic day in American motocross history, "The Carlsbad USGP:1980" will have a short, sneak peak this Saturday at Lucas Oil's "Monsters of Motocross" event prior to the films 2010 release in conjunction with the 30th Anniversary of the race. From the producer's of "The Motocross Files", "One Chance to Win", and "Bob Hannah's 1981 Massacre at Saddleback" comes their newest project.
Over three years in the making, Pipeline Digital Media has secured rights for the original ABC Wide World of Sports television broadcast to up-convert to high-definition. This footage plus dozens of interviews from people who were there and additional photographs and footage taken will bring life to the story that until now has only been told in print or by word of mouth by those witnesses to Marty Moates unbelievable ride that hot June day in 1980. The producers of secured interviews from Brad Lackey, Andre Malherbe, Danny LaPorte, Andre Vromans, Chuck Sun, Gavin Trippe, Laurens Offner, Bob Hannah, Larry Grismer and many, many more in addition to the late Marty Moates' family, brother David and mother Jackie.

"To show a small piece of the film to a core audience like those at the '2009 Monsters of Motocross' this Saturday will be very special." Huffman added.
The sneak peak will be shown during the main event part of "The Monsters of Motocross" this Saturday, October 31st, 2009 at the Sturges Center for the Fine Arts in San Bernardino, CA. Bob "Hurricane" Hannah is the the event MC as they honor Tony "D" DiStefano with the Edison Dye Motocross Lifetime Achievement Award. Larry Huffman will also be hosting the Tony D roast. This event raises money for spinal cord injury research and the Reeve-Irvine Research Center.
