Ross Maeda of Enzo Racing suffered paralyzing injuries last Friday in a crash at SoCal’s Starwest MX Park. Maeda is currently recovering from the surgery in which titanium rods were bolted to his spine to stabilize the three damaged vertebrae in his lower back. As is the case with any spinal injury, only time will tell if the damage to his spinal cord is permanent or not.
A figurehead in the MX industry for well over 30 years, Ross has many friends in the sport. Calls, text messages, and e-mails of support have poured in from his friends and associates. That said, with the help of Jarrett Austin at Factory Backing, we’ve created some support stickers for those who know Ross and are keeping him in their thoughts and prayers. To obtain a “Rossi” sticker, send a self-addressed, stamped-envelope, to TransWorld Motocross, Dept: Rossi, 1421 Edinger Ave, Suite D, Tustin, CA 92780
Although Swap is currently in Italy for the MXoN, he is in close contact with his family and will do his best to post updates on his blog, at www.swap.transworld.net
