Bel-Ray Race Report - Weekend Wrap-Up

When the rest of the industry over looked former multi-time champion Chad Reed this winter as a non-contender, Bel-Ray was proud to step up and stand beside the Australian racer. Reed’s hard work, dedication, and consistency was rewarded this past weekend as his second place finish in the main event vaulted him past title contender, Ryan Villopoto and into the points lead of the Monster Energy Supercross Series.

Qualifying went well for Reed with the third fastest time, followed by a second in his heat race. Reed then got a good start in the main event and despite challenging race leader, Ryan Dungey; he was never able to make the pass and had to settle for a second at the end of the 20 lap main event. Reed’s second place, coupled with James Stewart’s fourth and Ryan Villopoto’s ninth, pushed him into the points lead.

After an excellent weekend in Jacksonville a week ago, the Hart and Huntington / Dodge Motorsports team of Ivan Tedesco and Chris Blose had an off weekend marred with crashes. After a fourth place in his heat race, Tedesco could only salvage an eighteenth and Blose a seventeenth at the end of the main event. Both racers remain in the Top 15 in the season points standings. Tedesco sits in eleventh and Blose in fourteenth going into the next round in Dallas, Texas.

Another great weekend of racing awaits team Bel-Ray next week. Watch www.belray.com  for results and race reports all season long.    Was this post helpful? Add yours to our service or subscribe to our feed above.
