MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (May 12, 2016) – With less than two weeks remaining until the official start of the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship,
sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, MX Sports Pro Racing and the National
Promoters Group (NPG) have announced that tickets to the first two
rounds of the season are now available through VetTix.org,
a national non-profit, non-governmental 501c(3) tax-exempt
organization. Additionally, series sponsor GEICO Motorcycle has donated
an extra 50 tickets to the opening GoPro Hangtown Motocross Classic and FMF Glen Helen National, bringing the total to 100 free tickets for members of the military.
The tickets donated to Vet Tix are made available at no cost to both active duty and retired military veterans. Tickets to additional rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will become available two weeks prior to its respective date on the schedule via VetTix.org.
GEICO Motorcycle, a longtime supporter of the United States Military,
leveraged its partnership of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
to take advantage of a new avenue in its continued outreach with the
military via Vet Tix. It serves as another perfect way for GEICO to give
thanks to the service and sacrifice made by our veterans, particularly
in two of the most densely populated military regions in the country.
In addition to GEICO’s donation of 50 tickets, the insurance provider will host a special hospitality area at both Hangtown and Glen Helen, providing free access to any attendees that show a valid military ID.
Vet Tix boasts partnerships with nearly all major sports leagues, including Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, National Football League and National Hockey League. Additionally, respected sports entertainment franchises World Wrestling Entertainment and Professional Bull Riders have also worked with Vet Tix to provide veterans and their families to opportunity to attend marquee events across the country for free.
Lucas Oil Pro Motocross continues to serve as one of the first prominent motorsports properties in the country to offer this one-of-a-kind service to all veterans of the armed services, and is proud to enter its fifth year of partnership with the Veteran Tickets Foundation.
Vet Tix is a national nonprofit organization based in Phoenix that provides free tickets to veterans and active-duty members of the military and their families. U.S. Navy veteran Michael Focareto developed Vet Tix in 2008, and since then the organization has given away more than 1 million tickets to veterans nationwide.
All active and retired military veterans can create an account on VetTix.org to receive emails and reminders about when 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship tickets become available. More information can be found at VetTix.org.
The 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will kick off on Saturday, May 21, with the GoPro Hangtown Motocross Classic from Prairie City SVRA in Sacramento, California. The fastest riders on the planet and the world’s most prestigious off-road motorcycle championship will continue its 44th season by visiting the country’s most iconic facilities before crowning a pair of champions from Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on August 27.
