DAYTONA Monster Energy Supercross Kicks Off Bike Week At DAYTONA on March 10

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – January 6, 2018 –Monster Energy, the popular energy drink and lifestyle brand, will serve as the sponsor of the longest continuous Supercross event in America at Daytona International Speedway. The event, scheduled for Saturday, March 10, will be officially known as the DAYTONA Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship.
The sponsorship, which was announced during the Monster Energy Supercross season-opening press conference in Anaheim, is a natural fit due to Monster Energy being the series sponsor.
“We look forward to expanding our relationship with Monster Energy and have them serve as the sponsor of our prestigious Supercross event,” Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said. “This sponsorship provides a new opportunity for us to collaborate and continue to grow the DAYTONA Monster Energy Supercross to provide the best experience possible for our fans.”
The DAYTONA Monster Energy Supercross was first held at Daytona International Speedway in 1971 and has developed the reputation of being the toughest and most demanding event on the circuit. This is due to both the Florida sand and the course, which has been designed by five-time race champion Ricky Carmichael for the 11th straight year.
In 2018, DAYTONA Monster Energy Supercross will follow the same format of the other Monster Energy Supercross events with timed races and the new qualifying format that consists of two heat races and a Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). The semifinal races have been removed from the lineup, placing even more importance on the LCQ as riders battle for a spot in the main event.
Tickets for DAYTONA Monster Energy Supercross start at $40. Kids 6-12 are $15 and ages 5 and under are FREE in general admission areas. Trackside Access allows fans to view the race while standing on the frontstretch of the 2.5-mile tri-oval, getting them closer to the action than anywhere else on the circuit for an additional $20 – kids 5 and under are FREE. Access to the Monster Energy Supercross pits is FREE during the day with the purchase of a race-day ticket. Tickets can be purchased online at www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com or by calling 1-800-PITSHOP. Fans can stay connected with Daytona International Speedway on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and Snapchat, and by downloading Daytona International Speedway’s mobile app, for the latest Speedway news throughout the season.

About Daytona International Speedway

Daytona International Speedway is the world’s only motorsports stadium and was awarded the SportsBusiness Journal’s prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500. Though the season-opening Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention – as well as the largest audience in motorsports – the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex, also known as the “World Center of Racing,” boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe. In addition to at least nine major event weekends, the Speedway grounds are also used extensively for events that include concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.
