MX Sports Pro Racing Welcomes GoPro® as the Official Wearable Camera of the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship
MORGANTOWN, W.V. (June 8, 2010) - In its continued efforts to usher American motocross into the new era, MX Sports Pro Racing welcomes GoPro as one of the newest supporters of the world's most prestigious motocross championship. As maker of the world's best selling and highest performance wearable HD video cameras, GoPro and its flagship HD HERO line will now serve as the Official Wearable Camera of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
Since the opening round at Hangtown and throughout the remainder of the 12-race 2010 season, HD HERO cameras will be the featured product of the outdoor nationals, worn by several of the world's best riders and integrated into broadcast coverage on AlliSports.com, SPEED and NBC Sports. Highlight edits and on board lapping footage, including the Rockstar Energy Hangtown Classic, can be seen at www.goprocamera.com/ourheros.
"Motocross is one of the most intense sports in the world," said Nicholas Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro. "The speed, risk and athleticism is incredible. We're excited that MX Sports Pro Racing has chosen GoPro and our HD HERO wearable cameras to capture the intensity of the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship from the rider's perspective. You think these guys are quick and then you see if from their perspective and you realize...these guys are really quick!"
The GoPro HD HERO captures professional 1080p and 720p HD video with eye-popping clarity that is normally only seen from cameras costing considerably more. Used by professional athletes and cameramen alike, the HD HERO is now used regularly by production companies filming for the Discovery Channel, NBC and now the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. While the resolution and clarity is impressive, the HD HERO's 60 frames per second performance in 720p allows for jaw-dropping slow motion HD video to capture the world class talent of the best riders on the planet.
Ideal for the demands of motocross, the HD HERO camera's durable polycarbonate housing protects the camera from anything the track can throw at it. Its compact size and minimal 5.9oz weight allows it to be worn on rider helmets without them even knowing it's there. GoPro cameras represent the ultimate in performance, durability and convenience; necessary requirements for a camera to be worn by athletes competing at the top level of the sport.
GoPro's incredible HD HERO camera retails for $299 and can be found at motorcycle accessory dealers nationwide or online at www.goprocamera.com
The Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship continues this weekend with the Rockstar Energy High Point National Presented by Centra Bank from High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris, Pa., on Saturday, June 12. Gates drop at 1 p.m. EST.

Extensive Amateur Day Racing Accompanies Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Weekends in 2010
MORGANTOWN, W.V. (May 10, 2010) - Continuing the longstanding tradition of promoting amateur motocross competition in the U.S., MX Sports Pro Racing and the National Promoters Group (NPG) announce the 2010 Amateur Days schedule, which will run in concert with the 12-round Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship series.
The amateur programs present a very special opportunity for local motocross racers to be a part of the most prestigious motocross nationals on the planet and on the same weekends as the world's best riders. This season, 11 of the 12 tracks on the schedule will host amateur events, including night racing at both Freestone and RedBud.
"I remember being out there when I was younger," said Rockstar/Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey. "Being from Minnesota, Millville was our national each year and being able to compete on the same track as guys like Carmichael, LaRocco and Henry was one of the highlights of my whole year. It's one of the most unique experiences I think any rider can have and it's cool to see MX Sports Pro Racing continuing with the tradition."
A wide variety of amateur classes are scheduled at each event, allowing athletes of all ages and skill levels the chance to take part in the action. Motocross is unique to other professional sports in that it offers the rare opportunity for fans and local participants to compete on the same weekend as the top professionals in the world with these designated amateur events.

MORGANTOWN, W.V. - After one of the most thrilling seasons in AMA Motocross history, MX Sports Pro Racing is pleased to announce the highly-anticipated 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship schedule.
Beginning in 1972, the AMA Pro Racing-sanctioned U.S. outdoor national championship has served as the most prestigious motocross championship on the planet, consistently showcasing the world's best riders.
The 2010 season will commence on Saturday, May 22, 2010, with the Hangtown Motocross Classic just outside Sacramento, Calif. From there, the series will travel throughout the country before coming to a dramatic conclusion on Labor Day Weekend with the Steel City Motocross National on September 4, 2010, in Delmont, Pa.
Each stop of the 12-race series will feature the premier 450 Class, which was won by Chad Reed in 2009, as well as the ultra-competitive 250 Class, which will be wide open as a result of '09 champion Ryan Dungey's move up to the premier 450 Class.
The Women's Motocross (WMX) will also be a highlight at eight rounds of the Lucas Oil Motocross Championships, led by reigning champion Ashley Fiolek. In addition to the premier racing classes, fans can also expect unique motocross-related entertainment and attractions to be added as the season approaches.
"The 2009 season was a transitional year for AMA Motocross, with lots of positive changes, and there's more to come," said Davey Coombs, vice president of MX Sports. "We feel the 12 circuits the tour is visiting now make up the very best tracks in the country, though we continue to search for new opportunities and areas to visit in the near future-especially in the southeast. It is our goal to be there in 2011, as the facilities we are eyeing are continuing to build their infrastructure and racing circuits."
Also returning for 2010 is one of the strongest media, promotional and television packages in two-wheel racing, produced in conjunction via partnerships at both SPEED TV and NBC. In addition, races will also be streamed live via the series website, which is located at www.allisports.com.
A special feature that new for 2010 is the opportunity for fans to purchase VIP tickets for each event beginning the day after Thanksgiving; Friday, November 27. These season VIP tickets will be on sale at www.allisports.com (visit the motocross section) and available for every event on the schedule. Reed Controls 450 Class Points Lead While Pourcel Pulls Ahead in 250 Class
MORGANTOWN, W.V. (August 18, 2009) - After a pair of dominating performances this past weekend, Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki's Chad Reed and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Christophe Pourcel lead the charge into this Saturday's Monster Energy Motocross National, round 10 of the 12-race Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship at legendary Budds Creek MX Park in Mechanicsville, Md.
The third and final round of the Monster Energy Triple Crown of Motocross will take place this weekend, providing an opportunity for Reed and Pourcel to take home $3,000 apiece. Monster Energy posted a $25,000 bonus for any rider that swept all three Triple Crown events, but wins by JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha's Josh Grant (450 Class) and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Jake Weimer (250 Class) at Red Bud stopped Reed and Pourcel from taking home the award following their round one victories at High Point. While no one will win the $25,000 bonus in either the 450 or 250 class this season, Reed and Pourcel are in position to take the $3,000 award for acquiring the most points in the three races.
Situated in the shadow of the nation's capitol, Budds Creek is noted as one of the series' most prominent venues. The track has played host to two U.S. Motocross Grand Prix races along with the 2007 Motocross of Nations. Since 1989, it has hosted an annual stop on the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. The passion and dedication of track owner Jonathan Beasley to deliver a world-class event to the racers, teams and the loyal fans is second to none. Beasley and his team will once again roll out the red carpet for enthusiasts from the entire Eastern seaboard. With such outstanding racing leading the way in each class, this Saturday's Monster Energy Motocross National is expected to attract tens of thousands from throughout the region.
The 450 Class will air LIVE on NBC, Saturday, August 22 at 3:00 p.m. EST, marking the final live broadcast of the season. The exposure from each race as a result of NBC's first class coverage has helped bring American Motocross to a whole new audience, helping push the sport into the mainstream. Coverage of the 250 Class will air on SPEED, Saturday, August 29 at 8 p.m. EST.
Last weekend at Unadilla, the premier 450 Class saw Reed, a two-time AMA Supercross Champion, notch his fourth win of the season and extend his series points lead to 82 over Honda Red Bull Racing's Andrew Short. In what has been a dominant season for Reed, he swept both motos for the third time this season.
En route to his third overall victory in the 250 Class, Pourcel collected two moto wins and moved ahead of Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki's Ryan Dungey. The duo was tied atop the standings heading into the event.
During the 2008 national at Budds Creek, both classes were dominated by eventual series champions. James Stewart won his 14th consecutive 450 Class moto and seventh overall of the season. In the 250 Class, Ryan Villopoto was on a dominating run of his own, winning his 13th consecutive moto and sixth overall of the season before going on to win his third 250 Class championship.
Tickets are available are available at the box office or online at www.buddscreek.com and www.allisports.com. Weekend tickets: Adults - $50, Children (6-12) - $30, 5 and Under - Free; Saturday tickets: Adults - $30, Children (6-12) - $10, 5 and Under - Free. Save $5 with advance purchase.
