METAL + MOTOCROSS + MAYHEM = RED BULL METALLICROSS
Melting Pot of Motocross to Feature Post-Apocalyptic “dream track” designed by
James Stewart, Travis Pastrana, Ronnie Renner, David Knight and Geoff Aaron

Los Angeles, CA – August 10, 2010 – This October, the stars will align to create one of most unique and challenging tracks motocross has ever seen. Five of the world's best motocross athletes will come together to design and build a "dream track" blending several two-wheel off-road disciplines. The athletes - James Stewart, Travis Pastrana, Ronnie Renner, David Knight and Geoff Aaron - will bring to life a track that unites design elements from supercross, motocross, endurocross, freestyle and trials. Each of the five riders will contribute a portion to the total design, and the result will be a mash-up of everything they’ve always wanted to put into a race track, but were never allowed to do. This motocross melting pot will be known as Red Bull Metallicross, and will be held at the venerable Pala Raceway on Saturday, October 23.

With some of the best talent in motocross serving as designers, the track will definitely be revolutionary, but it will also have a theme to bump the excitement up a few more notches. As Red Bull Metallicross implies, it will not only feature top-level motocross action, but “metal” music as well. Rock and metal bands will perform on the track in-between each round of racing, and the event will culminate with a special performance by a top heavy metal group.

Red Bull Metallicross is open to pros and amateurs alike, but the track will not be for the faint of heart. The track will be as unforgiving as it will be revolutionary, and will feature: a nearly two story drop into the first turn; a 12-foot-high step-up; dirt-to-concrete whoops; a creek crossing; stretches of sand; a stair set made of railroad ties; explosions and geysers of flame. The racing format will also add some new wrinkles and twists to traditional racing. There will be several heat races, a last chance qualifier and wildcard elements that will keep the fans riveted to the action on the track and give every rider a true chance to prove themselves.

“When I was approached to help design a section of the Red Bull Metallicross track, I jumped all over it,” said Stewart. “I have always had some pretty crazy thoughts about obstacles and elements to a track. Now with this special event it gives me the blank canvas I need to put these crazy elements together. You can look forward to some wild stuff that will take each athlete's absolute best to navigate and survive.”

“Metallicross is going to be the raddest event ever. I'm pumped to be a part of something so revolutionary to the sport,” said Renner. “We have a chance to help design our own real life video game…this event is going to be all-time!”

Aspiring racers will have the chance to earn a spot in the main event during one of two regional qualifier events. The top 10 riders from each qualifier will move on and pit themselves against some of the best professionals in the world at the Red Bull Metallicross main event. Qualifiers will take place at the following locations:

September 25: E-Street MX, Riverfront Track, Sacramento, Calif.
October 2: Pala Raceway, Pala, Calif.

“Pala Raceway is honored to host Red Bull Metallicross, as we know from previous events how far Red Bull pushes the envelope,” said Ryan Ouellette, president MXMPI/Pala Raceway. “While we are in the middle of getting ready for the Pala National, we can hardly wait to begin construction on the course and progress the sport.”

Team TLD Race Report...Millville MN

Courtesy of TLD Racing
MA Motocross - Spring Creek

Spring Creek Motocross Park was the site of round seven of the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Nationals in Millville, Minnesota. The Troy Lee Designs/ Lucas Oil/ Honda team posted solid finishes and surged forward in the point standings in two of the three classes they competed in.

Ben Townley turned a mediocre start around quickly in moto one by racing forward to fourth in the opening laps of the race. Ben struggled to find a rhythm but still ended the moto in fourth, setting him up for a good overall finish. In moto two Townley shot to the lead on the opening lap and looked to be on his way to a moto win. Then, just before the end of the second lap, Ben lost his front end in a turn and went down. The fall cost him multiple spots and he would spend the rest of the moto picking riders off. Ben was well outside the top ten after his crash and finished the moto in fifth, leaving him fifth overall on the day.

"Yeah, it was a little frustrating today," said Townley. "The first moto I couldn't seem to get it going. That was tough but my finish was still good enough that I could end up on the podium if I had a good second moto. In the second moto I got right to then front and I was feeling pretty good about the track. I made a stupid mistake and fell over and that was it. I did the best I could to make up spots but I really wasn't happy with getting fifth."

Townley's determination would move him forward in the point standings to third overall. Ben now sits just a handful of points out of second.

Tarah Gieger raced to a second and a fourth in Millville for yet another third overall finish. The podium finish locks Tarah into a solid third in the point’s race.

Cole Seely had a rough day in Minnesota. The young rider started moto one in sixth but a crash on the second lap would cost him a significant amount of time and he would enter the race again a lap down. Moto two started badly as Cole rounded the first turn mid-pack. Seely put his head down and charged, coming up to 14th by the motos end, which included a nasty rain storm that turned the track into a slimy mess. Despite the great ride in moto two Cole would only finish nineteenth on the day.

The team heads to Washington State next week seeking wins and podium finishes at the infamous Washougal Motocross Park.

ames Stewart takes flight at Red Bull Flugtag Miami

Courtesy of Red Bull
After weeks of carefully sculpting, polishing, and tweaking his YZ450F to make it sea- and air-worthy, James Stewart finally tried his hand at the Red Bull Flugtag event on Saturday in Miami, Florida in front of more than 85,000 spectators.
James' confidence was soaring pretty high right before his flight: “Since I’m a Red Bull rider and can’t actually be judged in the event, I figure I might as well just go ahead and break the distance record so that everyone remembers me,” James said with a grin.
Unfortunately for James, however, flying a stationary motorcycle off of a 25-foot-high platform (with no motor) wasn’t quite as easy as he thought it might be; though James did put in a solid attempt, his distance was quite a bit shy of the winning team’s flight/descent of 54 feet. Still, it was all in the name of fun for the 2009 Supercross champ, and he definitely accomplished that goal.
“Red Bull Flugtag in Miami was a blast! It took me out of being so serious from what I normally do, which is racing," said Stewart. "Red Bull does so many cool things and being one of their athletes, the opportunities are just unlimited. I want to go for the record again!”

Edit Draft James Stewart to Soar at Red Bull Flugtag Miami

Courtesy of Red Bull
he rumors have been circulating for quite a while now, and it’s time to announce that the rumors are absolutely true! James will be competing this coming Saturday, July 10th at Red Bull Flugtag Miami aboard the most bizarre YZ450F you’ve ever seen! What in the world is Flugtag, you might ask? Red Bull Flugtag challenges teams of everyday people to build homemade, human-powered flying machines and pilot them off a 30-foot high deck in hopes of achieving flight! Flugtag may mean “flying day” in German, but all these crafts ultimately splash into the waters below. They are judged not only on their flight’s distance, but creativity and showmanship, as well.

"I'm excited to compete at Red Bull Flugtag because my craft is awesome and the guys building it are super-smart and have really gotten into it," said James. "But I'm a bit nervous about pushing it off a 30-foot drop!"

To help challenge the flight record that currently stands at 155 feet, James enlisted the engineering help of Randy Yoho to modify his Yami, and the human rocket power of good friends Anthony Paggio and Eric Sorby to help get him off the ground...and into the water.

See the attached image for a sneak peek of James and his funky flying machine. Check out a quick video posted by Vurb Moto at http://www.vurbmoto.com/theatre/797/james-stewart-miami-flutag/

Lakewood Race Report...Troy Lee Designs Racing

Courtesy of Lucas Oils/Troy Lee Designs Racing
AMA Motocross - Lakewood, CO

Round six of the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Nationals marked a milestone for the TLD race team. Ben Townley finally got the monkey off his back by finishing second at the Thunder Valley facility. His result marked the first podium for the team in the premier class and Ben's first podium on a 450 as well. His teammate Cole Seely had the best finish of his young career with a ninth overall in the 250 class. Tarah Gieger struggled with bad starts and crashes and ended her podium streak with a seventh overall.

In the first 450 moto Ben nearly had the holeshot but settled into second around turn one. Ben lost his front end in a wet turn a couple laps later and would fall back to seventh. He put on a charge to get back to the front and tipped over again in a corner. This fall would really take the kiwi out of his rhythm and he could only get back to sixth at the finish. He was less than pleased with his moto one result. Moto two started with Ben in third place off the start. This time Ben was patient and took his time in the opening laps as he followed Dungey and Short around the course. Ben eventually made a move around Short and opened a comfortable cushion over the fellow Honda rider. BT rode a steady race to the checkers for second and second overall on the day.

"This feels really good to be up here," said Townley from the Thunder Valley podium. "It's been a long time since I've been up here and I feel like it has been a long time coming for me. With the injuries I've had it has certainly been a long, difficult road and this finish takes a huge weight off my shoulders. I can't thank the whole Troy Lee Designs/ Lucas Oil/ Honda team enough for their support. We've been making progress every weekend and I think things are just going to keep getting better."

Cole Seely has yet to have the results outdoors that he is capable of. Cole got off to a terrible start in moto one but quickly worked his way into the top ten. Once he got into ninth he was all alone with nobody in front or behind him and he settled into a nice pace for ninth, the best finish of his career. He followed that moto up with another terrible start in moto two. Again, Seely put his head down and started chipping away at the deficit in front of him. He made it to tenth and then tipped over in a rutted corner, losing two spots before he could remount. He charged forward again and made a pass for eleventh only to have that rider cut under him and knock him down again. He made yet another run at his assailant but ran out of time and finished in twelfth and earning ninth overall.

"I feel like I'm definitely making progress," said Seely. "My fitness hasn't been where it needs to be but it is definitely coming around. Now I just need to put all the pieces together and get a start, ride hard and hold the pace. I'm looking forward to Red Bud to see if I can continue to improve my results."

Tarah Gieger started way back in the opening moto of the WMX race. She made a good run to the front and was in third when a crash set her back. She remounted and moved up to fourth at the finish. Moto two looked good as Tarah started in second position. Before she could make a run at the lead she flew off the track at the bottom of the downhill and went down. She made a great run forward only to be knocked down by one of the more aggressive gals in the race. She would only get back to seventh and have to settle for seventh overall.

The team will now head to Red Bud, Michigan for one of the best events of the summer at the Red Bud Track and Trail Facility over the fourth of July. Come by and get a team poster and an autograph from Ben, Tarah and Cole this weekend in Michigan.

Budd's Creek Race Report...Troy Lee Racing

Courtesy of Troy Lee Designs
AMA Motocross - Budds Creek

The hot and humid weather at Budds Creek Raceway didn't stop Ben Townley and Wil Hahn from having impressive rides at round four of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Even team rookie, Cole Seely, logged his best overall finish outdoors with an eleventh place.

Ben Townley opened the day with a solid ride in moto one of the 450 class. After working his way up to fourth position, Townley looked to have a firm grasp of the position. Then, with only a few laps to go, something went wrong. Townley began to slow and would lose time and positions due to a malfunctioning fuel pump. The fluke incident dropped Ben from fourth to fourteenth by the time the race was over. He came out firing in moto two and again charged towards the front, this time settling into the third spot. Josh Grant would challenge for the position late in the race but Ben held on to put his TLD/ Lucas Oil/ Honda ride up on the podium and earn the Muscle Milk Recovery Ride of the Day award.

"It feels good to end the day on the podium," said Townley. "I've not been able to put two solid motos together yet, riding the way I know how to ride and that is frustrating. Today was just one of those things that happens sometimes in racing. I feel like I was in good position to be on the podium overall but it will have to wait. Colorado will be tough but if we can have a good week I think we can accomplish our goal there."

Wil Hahn continues his hot streak off the gate by running near the front in the first 250 moto. He proved that he is fit enough and fast enough to run at the front by holding fifth position down in the first moto. The second moto was even more impressive as Wibur pulled a big holeshot and led the first several laps of the race. He would drop to fourth by hold off Christophe Pourcel for fourth in the moto, an impressive ride for the Texan. Wil's 5-4 motos landed him fifth overall on the day.

Cole Seely struggled with his endurance in the heat but still went 13-11 for eleventh overall on the day. The talented rider is still learning what it takes to compete at the absolute highest level of motocross racing.
You can come meet the team at round five of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship in Denver, Colorado this weekend.

TLD Race Report...Hangtown

Courtesy of Troy Lee Designs
t was a busy weekend for the TLD crew as they had riders in all three classes of competition at the season opening round of the AMA motocross championship. When the day was done every rider on the team had something promising to build from for the next eleven rounds.

Ben Townley fought through a case of nerves as the gate dropped for his first 450 national in two years. The former world champion ran near the front all moto long and gave up one spot near the end of the race when he stalled his bike in a tight corner. The second moto was even more encouraging as BT made a charge to the front of the pack that saw him pass into second and begin to close in on the race leader. A small mistake near the twenty-minute mark would cost him several positions and a shot at an overall podium finish. His 6-7 motos were good enough for a sixth place finish overall.

"I was quite nervous before the start of the race," said Townley at the days end. "I'm feeling pretty good about my speed though and I think by the time I hit round two or three my fitness will be where it needs to be in order to race for wins. I'm really happy with the team at the moment and now that the first round is out of the way I feel like we can really focus on the task at hand. It was a good start for me."

Will Hahn and Cole Seely represented TLD well in the 250 division. Cole spent much of the first moto in sixth position until a fall forced him out of the race. Wil suffered a bad start but fought all the way to 13th by the motos end. The second moto started with a big Wil Hahn holeshot. Wil led for a couple laps and then spent the race dicing with the worlds best 250 riders at the front of the pack. He would score a 6th in moto two giving him eighth overall on the day. Cole didn't get the start he needed but he managed to work into 17th and earn a handful of points by the end of the race. Both 250 riders are looking fast and ready to race at the front, they just need to get good starts and stay on two wheels.

Tarah Gieger scored the team's only podium finish of the day, a fact she was quick to point out to her male teammates. The star WMX rider rode consistently all day long and earned third overall with her 2-6 motos scores. Tarah was certainly not content with a third and she is already looking forward to another shot at a win in Texas.

"I really didn't get a chance to ride the way I know I can," Tarah explained. "I couldn't get comfortable with the track all day and I hit a stalled rider in the second moto that knocked me down and had me riding from the back the whole race. Texas is a good track for me and I'm looking forward to getting out there."

The TLD/ Lucas Oil/ Honda team will set up at Glen Helen Raceway this weekend for the GP round in California. Ben Townley will use the event as another stepping stone towards his goal of winning the 2010 AMA national championship. Look for the #101 flying around the hilly circuit in San Bernardino this weekend. The rest of the team riders will focus on preparing for the next round of the AMA series in Freestone, Texas in two weeks time.

TLD Lucas Oil Racing Race Report

Courtesy of TLD/Lucas Oil Racing
On what was undoubtedly one of the most brutally demanding supercross tracks ever built, Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda rider Wil Hahn gritted out a second place finish and moved himself to second in the series standings. His teammate, Cole Seely, toughed out a seventh place finish despite a poor start.

Lining up for the main event it was clear that Hahn meant business. His lap times were good and he knew he was prepared to ride at 100% for the entire fifteen laps. The Young rider from Texas was third coming around the first turn but ran into the back of Trey Canard when he fell in turn two. The mishap dropped him to fifth where he would begin an impressive charge towards the front. By the time he moved into second the leader was already several seconds ahead and the margin was too much for Wil to close. Although he wants a win baldly, Hahn rode well and he was proud of that.

"Man, I really felt like tonight was my night to win," He said after the race. Adding, "I know it's coming... I've been working way too hard not to win one of these. I can't take anything away from (Broc) Tickle though; he rode great tonight. He was flying out there. Next week we'll just get back to work and see if we can get a win in Salt Lake City."

Seely was mired in the pack and lost all of his tear-offs early, forcing him to remove his goggles. The race became about survival for him after that point. Cole would soldier on to a seventh but he was visibly disappointed with the way his night went.

"That definitely wasn't how I wanted the night to go," Cole explained. "All night I just felt tight and like I was fighting the bike. When I reached up on the second lap of the main to pull a tear off and I grabbed all of them, I knew I was in trouble. I tried wiping them as long as I could but I couldn't see a thing. I had to throw them and it made it tough to get close to anyone after that. I need to have a good race next weekend to bounce back from this."

The team will now head to Utah for the final round of the west region series. Wil has a five point lead over Canard and he is nineteen points down on Jake Weimer. It is a long shot to win the title but crazier things have happened.

The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series heads to Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on Saturday, May 1.

Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 All Roads Lead to Rome for FMX World Elite

Courtesy of Red Bull
Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010
All Roads Lead to Rome for FMX World Elite

After the most spectacular showdown in the history of Red Bull X-Fighters in London in 2009, the premier freestyle motocross series in the world returns in 2010 with new riders, new locations and plenty of new tricks. This year will once again see the crème-de-la-crème of the international FMX scene battle it out for the coveted title of Red Bull X-Fighters Champion.

Jostling for a place with old classics such as the traditional curtain raiser in Mexico City (MEX) and the legendary two-day event in the Spanish capital of Madrid (ESP) will be new and exciting locations for 2010. The second event of the six-stop Tour will take place in the shadow of the Pyramids and the world famous Sphinx in the city of Giza (EGY), where the dry heat and blazing sun will be sure to push the athletes to the limit. The next highlight follows just weeks later, as the Red Square and the Kremlin in the Russian capital of Moscow (RUS) host the world’s 12 best freestyle motocross athletes. Following Moscow, London (UK) will be recharged once more to electrify the crowd and the riders. The Red Bull X-Fighters finally head to the Eternal City, Rome (ITA), to crown the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour Champion.

Last year it was America’s Nate Adams who claimed the title in front of a sell-out crowd of 20,000 at London’s Battersea Power Station following a thrilling season full of twists and turns. This time around, Adams is back to try to defend his title and secure his place as one of the all-time greats of Red Bull X-Fighters. Among his most dangerous challengers will be multi-world record holder Robbie Maddison (AUS), who will be looking to finally secure victory in the overall standings after placing third and second, respectively, in 2008 and 2009.

In 2010, Red Bull X-Fighters is no longer an invitational. Instead of holding a ranking event, qualifying will be done according to performance and the World Tour ranking. The top six riders will be pre-qualified. This means that Adams (USA), Maddison (AUS), Eigo Sato (JPN), 2008 Tour Champion Mat Rebeaud (SUI), Dany Torres (ESP) and Levi Sherwood (NZL) are already seeded for the season opener in Mexico, based on their standings at the end of the 2009 season. Four additional spots will be battled out by six riders, who have been selected by the international Red Bull X-Fighters jury following an own application process which was started in autumn last year. Two Wild Card riders will complete the starting list. “This method will guarantee a fair competition on the highest sportive level with only the very best riders competing at each single Tour stop,” explained Sports Director Tes Sewell.

Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010
April 16th: Mexico City, MEX
May 14th: Giza, EGY
June 26th: Moscow, RUS
July 22nd/23rd: Madrid, ESP
August 14th: London, UK
October 1st: Rome, ITA

ONE Industries Announces RIDERS F1RST Featuring David Bailey

ONE Industries Announces RIDERS F1RST Featuring David Bailey

The inaugural RIDERS F1RST event featuring David Bailey was held on Friday night to celebrate the Icon and introduce a new program by ONE Industries to provide help for injured riders.

This year’s event was held at Oakley world headquarters in southern California and brought together key figures in the industry as well as some of the most successful riders in the world. The evening celebrated David’s achievements and raised awareness and money for a good cause.

RIDERS F1RST is a charitable organization established by ONE Industries to provide support to athletes who have suffered career-ending injuries and are in need of substantial help.  With the help of David Bailey, the goal is to find these people and address their needs with the money raised by the program to make a big difference in their lives.

ONE Industries will produce a limited run of 300 complete sets of racewear including a helmet, jersey, pants, and gloves. The first ten sets of gear were offered to the highest bidders in a silent auction at Friday night’s event, with the winning bid on the #6 set hitting $10,000!

Neil Calvesbert, CEO of ONE Industries said “The event was a great starting point for RIDERS F1RST, we got the ball rolling with David and this is something we will continue to drive forward. We all know the big name riders who get hurt but there are so many more riders at all levels that need a helping hand. The gear got a great response not only at the event but also when Ivan Tedesco wore it at Anaheim on Saturday. I want to thank David Bailey for helping us turn this idea into a reality and everyone who supported the event, Oakley, Racer X, Red Bull, Todd Huffman, Chris Williams and all of the athletes and industry people who came together despite the terrible weather last week”.

David Bailey adds, “Everything ONE industries does is carefully planned and well executed, but this project is their best yet. I'm honored they revived the 1986 florescent gear, but more honored to have a platform to help those who are and have been suffering.”  He continues, “I've been down before and I know how devastating it can be even though I had a lot of support. There are many who have been forgotten and it is time to lift them up and give them hope”.

Tonight on DMXS Radio

Courtesy of DMXS Radio
Fresh off the Red Bull: New Year - No Limits record-setting rally car jump of 269 feet, Travis Pastrana once again set the bar higher for anyone crazy enough to follow and added to the impressive ongoing living legend’s list of accomplishments. We will catch up with the infamous global star tonight to see what’s next on his to-do list and get his take on the racing so far this season and see if he plans to line up on the gate anytime soon.

The stars did not align for Timmy Ferry this year as nagging injuries and a down economy conspired to keep the popular Floridian off the gate at Anaheim 1 for the first time since 1983. Well, maybe not that long, but he was surely missed either way. His name has been bantered about as a replacement rider already this season so we will hear directly from Red Dog to separate fact from speculation. Let’s hope it works out because we all want to see him back racing sooner than later.

Mind of the Demon: The Larry Linkogle Story is a haunting and cautionary tale about one of the sport’s most independent and rebellious spirits ever to throw a leg over a dirt bike. This human story about one man’s struggle with drug addiction will shed light on the never-publicly-told story of the rise and fall of Larry Linkogle through interviews of those that know him best. This award-winning and motivational story is written, directed, and produced by FMX industry veteran Adam Barker, and narrated by Lemmy Kilmeister of Motorhead. The film will be screened at Slamdance January 23 & 26, and X Dance: Action Sports Film Festival on January, 24. Check out www.slamdance.com and www.x-dance.com for more information. We are stoked to welcome Larry and Adam on the show tonight.

We had to get Racer X’s Davey Coombs on the show tonight to help us break down and digest the incredible events that transpired in Phoenix last weekend. I don’t know if anyone, short of James Cameron, that could have scripted a wilder start to the supercross season. We will go over both classes tonight with DC and get the latest on the fallout and what it means for the rest of the season.

Don’t forget to jump in the chat room during the show to post your own questions to the guests, bench race, and take a shot at winning some cool swag from Vurb, SHIFT, Ogio, Racer X and more.

Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda Announces 2010 Race Team

Courtesy of Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda Racing
Team Troy Lee Designs/ Lucas Oil/ Honda is proud to announce their 2010 Supercross / Motocross racing team roster. After making huge strides last year the team is again making big moves in their efforts to become one of the premier teams in the sport of motocross. Returning for their second year, Lucas Oil will remain the team’s title sponsor for both Supercross and Outdoor Nationals. Leading the squad for this year is former World Champion and 250 supercross champion Ben Townley. Backing him up are Wil Hahn, Cole Seely and Christian Craig.

"This is going to be a big year for us," says team owner Troy Lee. "I feel like we had some good momentum last year; we have some great sponsors on board, and a new group of riders that I know will turn some heads at Anaheim. We are ready to go racing!"

“We are pleased with the selection of riders for the 2010 TLD/Lucas Oil Team, ” said Bob Patison, Executive Vice-President of Lucas Oil Products.  “The team continues to evolve and I believe that we could see some strong podium finishes in the upcoming season.”

Ben Townley is coming off a few seasons with injuries but he is finally 100% healthy and ready to get back to winning races. He’ll begin his comeback at home in New Zealand this winter and may follow that up with a few GP’s to prepare for the US motocross series. Ben’s first race here in the States will be the first national motocross in Sacramento, California in May.

“I’m really excited about this opportunity,” says Townley. “This team has surrounded themselves with really good sponsors and people that I trust. I think we are going to do great things together in 2010.”

For the West coast Supercross series the team has recruited two very talented young riders. Wil Hahn has been on the cusp of having a breakout season and he’s ready to make it happen in 2010. Wil won heat races last year and had a second place finish in Jacksonville after leading for much of the main event. His transition to the Honda has been a smooth one and heads will turn when they see the number 49 machine on the track this year.

“I’ve never felt this confident or this comfortable on a bike before,” says Hahn. “The transition was super-easy and I’m stoked with how hard everyone works over here. This is going to be a big year for me. I can’t wait to get to Anaheim and get after it.”

Christian Craig was the first rider signed to the team over a month ago. After getting off to a great start, Christian crashed during a practice session and suffered a serious injury to his back. Thankfully, he will make a full recovery and we hope to see him back on the bike some time this summer. Christian’s bike will wait for him under the team awning and he will be on hand to sign autographs at select events.

The team’s final rider is Cole Seely. Cole is entering his sophomore season way under the radar but with a lot to prove. His rookie season was filled with ups and downs but his flashes of speed were enough to catch our attention. With the support of the team we expect big things out of Cole and he is ready to deliver. He will be sporting the number 200 this year and he will undoubtedly shock people with his ability.

The Troy Lee Designs/ Lucas Oil/Honda team is ready to go racing. With the help of some really amazing sponsors we plan on making this the best year the team has ever had. It’s going to be a crazy ride. Be sure to come by the team hauler and say hello at any of the west coast supercross rounds or motocross nationals that you attend.

The Troy Lee Designs Lucas Oil Honda race team would like to thank all of the companies that have supported our racing efforts over the years. They include Lucas Oil, American Honda, Red Bull, Wings for Life, PPG, Seaspan, Alpinestars, Avia,  Couts Heating and Cooling, Dunlop, Epic Cameras, McQueen Racing, Oakley, Pacific Collision, Pro Circuit, Rossignol, Santa Cruz, Selle Italia, Skullcandy, All Sport Dynamics, Cornwell Tools, Cycra, Leatt Brace, Light Speed, Muc-Off, N Style, Nameplate, ODI, QTM, Brembo, Talon Hubs, Rethnal, RK Chain, Twin Air, VP Racing, Hinson, Flexfit.

Courtesy of Red Bull
http://www.travispastrana.com/#/en/CURRENT/News/The-Great-Divide/The-Great-Divide/

When the sun broke over the Rocky Mountains this morning, Travis, along with his friends Special Greg and Eric Roner, set out to conquer the "Great Divide Trail." The 2,493 mile trail begins in Montana and continues South along the Rockies before ending in New Mexico. Pastrana will ditch the familiarity of his motorized vehicles for a full-suspension mountain bike supplied by Giant Bicycles.

The trip will take approximately 39 days and Travis will make scheduled stops at post offices along the way. New gear, supplies and underwear will be exchanged for autographed postcards from Travis to randomly selected fans. Yes, you heard correctly, Travis will be sending out postcards to fans selected from his Facebook fan page (http://www.facebook.com/travispastrana). Disconnected from technology, Travis has reverted to the old school methods of "snail mail" to communicate with fans throughout his journey.

Follow Travis's journey by checking out www.travispastrana.com for updates.

Courtesy of AMA Endurocross
By EnduroCross standards, Red Bull KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak dominated the main event tonight in Guthrie Oklahoma . But the battle for second was anything but boring as the large crowd cheered on a five rider battle over second that finally went to Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Damon Huffman. The final spot on the podium went to Zip Ty Racing Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder, a top Canadian off road racer that has been steadily improving his EnduroCross skills over the past year.

Christini KTM mounted Geoff Aaron took forth position ahead of Lucas Oil, Kawasaki backed Colton Haaker and Mike Brown who all held podium positions at one time during the main event. AmPro FMF Yamaha’s Kyle Redmund battled Mike Brown to the finish but settled for the seventh position ahead of Nick Brozovich, Destry Abbot and Patrick Smage, the current U.S. Trials champion and Jamie Lanza.

Kawasaki's Damon Huffman picked up a well earned second place after a battle with third place Cory Graffunder.

Northland Kawasaki ’s Jamie Lanza earned the $500 Girardi Wealth management holeshot in the main event but finished eleventh due to a severely twisted brake lever. Blazusiaki quickly took over the lead and rode a mostly mistake free race until he hit the ground on lap six but still maintained a relatively safe lead. The battle for the podium was intense with Damon Huffman holding the position early before giving it up to Mike Brown who in turn fell and handed it to Colton Haaker. It was then Husqvarna’s Graffunder that held the position before giving it up to Huffman who charged back towards the front after crashing twice and falling as far back as fifth.

Taddy Blazusiak takes first place, followed by Kawasaki's Damon Huffman and Husqvarna rider Cory Graffunder in third.
Ricky Dietrich, the defending EnduroCross champion suffered a foot injury during his qualifying “hot lap” that forced him to the hospital for x-rays during the time that he should have taking part in his heat race. The x-ray fortunately showed no broken bones but he was unable to compete on this night. Another notable rider that did not qualify for the main was multi time ArenaCross Champion Josh Demuth, who came up one position short by finishing third in the Last Chance Qualifier but it was an impressive first attempt at EnduroCross.

Guthrie, OK Geico AMA EnduroCross Expert Main Event Results
1. Taddy Blazusiak - KTM
2. Damon Huffman - Kawasaki

Robbie Maddison backflips over London's Tower Bridge

Press Release from Red Bull

Freestyle motocross star Robbie Maddison took a sleeping London by surprise last night as he performed a spectacular backflip over an open Tower Bridge in the British capital. The 27-year-old Australian took to the air at 2:55 a.m. and soared nearly one hundred feet over the Thames River.

LONDON, July 13, 2009 - The early hours of Monday morning saw Maddison become the first rider in history to take on Tower Bridge on a motorbike. The Australian used the famous London landmark as a take-off and landing ramp as he cleared the gap above the Thames River after the iconic bridge had been raised. With an approach speed of approximately 40 mph, Maddison took off from the north side of the bridge, performed a no-handed backflip, and held his landing in front of the south tower of one of the world’s most famous landmarks.

Maddison joined forces with Red Bull once again to make his UK dream a reality, having already chalked up the world’s longest ever motorbike jump (350 feet), and the highest ever vertical ‘step up’ at the replica Arc de Triomphe in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve 2008, along with a drop of more than 85 feet down to a landing ramp below.

Maddison said: “The whole experience was awesome. Since the jumps in Las Vegas I’ve been set on doing something special here in London so the Red Bull team and I have been secretly scoping out Tower Bridge for months. We had a matter of minutes on the bridge and had to time everything to the second, there were so many factors to get right, but we pulled it off.

People say I’m crazy, but I just want to push the boundaries of my sport and my body to the limit and I love taking on these huge challenges. It was an incredible feeling to fly between the two towers and over the Thames.”

Maddison will return to London on August 22 to take part in the final stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2009 at Battersea Power Station. He won the Calgary stop of the series in May.

The 2009 Red Bull X-Fighters Texas event will air this Sunday, July 19, at 1:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. PT on ABC, immediately following the British Open.

Many people helped make this event possible, including Visit London (www.visitlondon.com) and the owners of Tower Bridge, the City of London Corporation (www.cityoflondon.gov.uk).
