JLaw to Run No Fear MX Gear No Fear steps up and says “Yeah, we got JLaw’s back.”

Courtesy of No Fear
CARLSBAD, Calif. – One thing about the motocross community that’s no doubt endearing to its loyal members is the compassion companies show to the sport’s fallen riders. And while many injure themselves participating in the sport we all come together, some fall in other ways – such as 2008 WSX Lites champion Jason “JLaw” Lawrence.

One company has stepped up and chosen to back the fallen star with sponsorship assistance for the upcoming 2010 competition season. No Fear MX gear and casual apparel is confident Lawrence is on track to getting his act back together and returning to the high level of competition he enjoyed through amateurs and into the pro ranks.

“I can’t begin to explain how much this means to me, for a company as important to the MX industry as No Fear to have my back,” said Lawrence. “This gives me hope for another chance, something to work hard for.”

No Fear and Lawrence enjoyed a long-standing relationship through Lawrence’s highly successful amateur racing career. Teaming up for multiple amateur MX national titles, Lawrence did his part to elevate the No Fear brand amongst the dirt-covered teens that frequent Anytown, USA, MX tracks. His punk rock style even back then lent itself powerfully to No Fear’s aggressive attitude and contemptuous brand image built in motocross and throughout the action sports world.

“No Fear still believes in Jason as a racer. But, more importantly, we believe in him as a person and welcome him back to the No Fear family,” said company founder Mark Simo. “We’re looking to give him a second chance, lend him a hand in his recovery process and supply him with some sick gear and support as he works hard to return to the greatness he enjoyed in 2008.”

Added Crown AMG’s Scott Sepkovic: “I’m looking forward to Jason making a positive change in his life. And the fact that No Fear has come on board, in talking to Jason, has certainly helped that process along.”

Murrieta, CA - KTM Motorsports and Jägermeister are proud to announce the start of a partnership that lists the number one selling imported liqueur in America as the title sponsor of the 2010 motocross team.

KTM and Jägermeister first began their relationship in 2009 as Jägermeister stepped up as a corporate sponsor for the MDK/KTM Factory Team. "Besides the obvious answer that the corporate company colors match well, there are many reasons we are proud to extend our relationship with Jägermeister. Top on the list being the demographic of their customers and their enthusiasm for keeping the sport of motocross alive while supporting the lifestyle of our main enthusiasts," commented KTM President Jon-Erik Burleson.

For 2010 KTM will focus on the motocross series. The new team created from the KTM and Jägermeister partnership will be appropriately titled as the Jägermeister/KTM Factory Racing Team which will debut with sole team rider Mike Alessi in May of 2010 under leadership from Team Manager Casey Lytle.

"KTM is taking a direction opposite of the competition - a motocross only team for 2010," remarked Lytle. "Jägermeister is the most fitting sponsor for the direction that KTM would like to take in the motocross community. KTM's direction is to focus on interacting with our customers on all levels. Together KTM and Jägermeister have laid out plans for multiple events in the coming year that will focus around motocross riding with active involvement from our customers."

Alessi's dare-devil approach to motocross riding and constant interaction with his fans goes hand-in-hand with the lifestyle of Jägermeister consumers. "From music tours to trikes and Jagerettes to tap machines, Jägermeister continuously seeks new and innovative ways to integrate the brand into our consumer's lifestyle," stated Bill Henderson, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising at Sidney Frank Importing Company, Inc. "We are excited to continue building momentum with the KTM partnership and our increasing participation in the motocross arena."

The first event will be the kick off of the Jägermeister and KTM relationship at the Jägermeister/KTM Christmas Party to be held Friday, December 11, 2009 at Pala Raceway. This Christmas celebration is sure to be a hit. While all enthusiasts are invited out, all KTM riders will receive special treatment with a pass to ride FREE for the day if they show up with their KTM. Courtesy of MX Sports
MORGANTOWN, W.V. - After one of the most thrilling seasons in AMA Motocross history, MX Sports Pro Racing is pleased to announce the highly-anticipated 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship schedule.

Beginning in 1972, the AMA Pro Racing-sanctioned U.S. outdoor national championship has served as the most prestigious motocross championship on the planet, consistently showcasing the world's best riders.

The 2010 season will commence on Saturday, May 22, 2010, with the Hangtown Motocross Classic just outside Sacramento, Calif. From there, the series will travel throughout the country before coming to a dramatic conclusion on Labor Day Weekend with the Steel City Motocross National on September 4, 2010, in Delmont, Pa.

Each stop of the 12-race series will feature the premier 450 Class, which was won by Chad Reed in 2009, as well as the ultra-competitive 250 Class, which will be wide open as a result of '09 champion Ryan Dungey's move up to the premier 450 Class.

The Women's Motocross (WMX) will also be a highlight at eight rounds of the Lucas Oil Motocross Championships, led by reigning champion Ashley Fiolek. In addition to the premier racing classes, fans can also expect unique motocross-related entertainment and attractions to be added as the season approaches.

"The 2009 season was a transitional year for AMA Motocross, with lots of positive changes, and there's more to come," said Davey Coombs, vice president of MX Sports. "We feel the 12 circuits the tour is visiting now make up the very best tracks in the country, though we continue to search for new opportunities and areas to visit in the near future-especially in the southeast. It is our goal to be there in 2011, as the facilities we are eyeing are continuing to build their infrastructure and racing circuits."

Also returning for 2010 is one of the strongest media, promotional and television packages in two-wheel racing, produced in conjunction via partnerships at both SPEED TV and NBC. In addition, races will also be streamed live via the series website, which is located at www.allisports.com.

A special feature that new for 2010 is the opportunity for fans to purchase VIP tickets for each event beginning the day after Thanksgiving; Friday, November 27. These season VIP tickets will be on sale at www.allisports.com (visit the motocross section) and available for every event on the schedule. EnduroCross Finale - Blazusiak and Brown Win Heats - Aaron Earns 2nd Overall
Red Bull/KTM rider Taddy Blazusiak came to the Orleans Arena for the final round of the EnduroCross Series with the Championship wrapped up and the goal of winning the final round and a $50,000 Triple Crown prize.

Judging from the afternoon practice laps and first heat, it looked as if it might be his night. Blazusiak had the second fastest hot lap of the afternoon behind his teammate Shock Doctor/KTM rider Mike Brown.

Brown and Blazusiak were split up in the first two heat races. Brown started heat number one with a holeshot and an amazing battle with Christini/KTM rider Geoff Aaron. Brown and Aaron switched the lead position multiple times before Brown made the pass stick taking the win and the first qualifying position into the main.

Blazusiak was up next in heat number two. Blazusiak had a great jump off the gate but hit a plant in the first corner and went down. Another rider fell on top of him and the two struggled to get back up. Luckily, Blazusiak kept the bike running and once he regained composure he put on an impressive charge through the pack. By the second lap Blazusiak had moved from last to 2nd position and was closing in on lead rider Gary Sutherlin. Another lap down and Blazusiak caught Sutherlin in the rocks and made the pass for the lead. He pulled on the field and finished the race approximately a ½ lap ahead of the next closest rider.

The third member of the team, Shock Doctor/KTM WORCS rider Justin Soulè also made an appearance at the final round of EnduroCross. Unfortunately, Soulè crashed in his heat and semi and wasn't able to qualify into the main event. As a consultation he was entered into the highly popular night race, an event where the stadium lights are turned off and the riders have to race only by headlights. Soulè started up front alongside Husaberg rider Joakim Ljunggred. The two rode side by side for the first half lap until Soulè got held up in the rock section. Soulè lost a few positions getting through the rocks and was able to charge back through and finish the race in 4th position.

In the main event, Blazusiak had a decent start rounding the first corner in 3rd place while Brown's wheel spun on the gate and caused him to have a last place start. Blazusiak quickly moved into 2nd position at the tire jump and was soon side by side with Ricky Dietrich. As they came to the right hander after the tire straight Dietrich moved over and into Blazusiak. With no where to go Blazusiak hit the ground hard causing injury to his leg. "I knew something was wrong as soon as I crashed but I am a racer and I came to win, so I was not going to retire early," commented Blazusiak. He soon recovered and was back on track in 7th place. Out front, Dietrich had taken the lead followed closely by Aaron.

As the race continued, Brown continued to put pressure on the field working as hard as he could to move up in position from his poor start. Brown spent a lot of time trying to get around stuck riders in the treacherous rock section. "The rock section was tough because so many riders got held up there and I would lose time each lap trying to get around them or waiting for them to pick themselves up so I could get by," remarked Brown. At the end of the race, Brown eventually passed up to 9th position where he finished for the night. "I love racing EnduroCross because you never know what will happen. I had great lap times all night but if you don't have luck to go with your speed in the main event you can find yourself in the back of the pack."

Blazusiak passed a few riders after his first crash before he had a second encounter with the ground. After the second crash, Blazusiak put forth a remarkable effort to try and catch the top three but fell short of that goal in the eight lap race. Aaron maintained his 2nd place position to end the season with a podium finish while Blazusiak crossed the line in 5th. After the event Blazusiak had his leg examined for what looks like a possible ACL tear on his right knee. "I will go in for further examination when I return home. I am bummed with how the evening turned out but am still happy to have the championship and plan to return to defend my title in 2010." Blazusiak will be joined once again by Mike Brown as the two KTM Factory riders contending the AMA EnduroCross series next season.

Since 1992 this AMA sanctioned event has featured bar-to-bar racing between some of the nations up and coming pros as well as fast amateur riders. The event is arenacross racing in tight quarters, which makes for a super exciting show. Four year old pee-wees on the tiny bikes to the pros it will an action packed event. Last year there were 39 pro riders in each class, which qualified down to the best 15 for the main event. The spectators got their money’s worth as Zach Osborne, Tyler Bright, Robbie Horton, Jim Chester, Joshua Thomas, and Jim Neese battled for the win. Osborne took the win, but it was Horton who hung tough and won the series championship.

It will be two full days of racing with a full program each day. Practice is at 12:00 noon and the main events are at 7:00pm both days.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ricky Dietrich Wins Vegas EnduroCross Final Colton Haaker wins E3 Spark Plugs Junior Championship

Courtesy of Endurocross
LAS VEGAS, NV (November 21, 2009) –  After a close second place finish at the opening round, Ricky Dietrich, the defending EnduroCross Champion suffered an injury at round two of the 2009 Geico EnduroCross Series presented by E3 Spark Plugs and was not a factor in the championship.  But tonight, Dietrich played the role of spoiler.  KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak had the $50,000 Geico Triple Crown bonus on the line if he could win the Vegas final.  But Blazusiak did not get a great start and went down hard while trying to make up time on the first lap.

Muscle Milk KTM’s Mike Brown set the fastest hot lap to get the day started.  Blazusiak had the second fastest time ahead of Sherco mounted Graham Jarvis, a top trials rider from the UK that is proving his ability at EnduroCross type events on both sides of the pond.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Destry Abbot competed in the Baja 1000 the day before and made the long drive to Vegas pay off by collecting the $500 Girardi Wealth Management Holeshot award to start the main event.  His lead was short lived however as there was a lot of bumping and banging during the first lap and most of the field got stuck in the in the large rock pile.  Christini KTM mounted Geoff Aaron took the lead and appeared to be on his way to his second main event win of the season but Dietrich pushed hard to close the gap and made a pass for the lead on lap six.  Aaron held onto second while Damon Huffman won a race long battle with Lucas Oil backed Colton Haaker for the final podium position.  Taddy Blazusiak recovered from his first lap crash to finish fifth but has an extremely sore knee.

Blazusiak had already clinched the 2009 Geico Powersports EnduroCross championship and Geoff Aaron finished second ahead of Huffman.  By finishing fourth overall in the series, Colton Haaker won the inaugural E3 Spark Plugs’ EnduroCross Pro Junior Championship, the series within a series that allows riders aged 16-21 to compete for an AMA number one plate.  Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder finished fifth overall and second in the chase for the Junior Championship.

The Las Vegas EnduroCross final also played host to three classes of Amateur Grand Championships.  Riders qualified by finishing in the top two at the previous five rounds to earn a place in the Amateur finals in Las Vegas.  Geico backed Eric Rodgers won the Open Amateur title.  Sixteen year old Ryan Sandoval won the TrialsCross title and Joe Kopp, the former Grand National Dirt Track champion won the Vet Grand Championship.

Racer Productions Announces 2010 Grand National Cross Country Proposed Pro Rules

Racer Productions Announces 2010 Grand National Cross Country Proposed Pro Rules
Morgantown, W.Va. (November 19, 2009) - Racer Productions, producers of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series, has announced the proposed rules for the 2010 tour in the XC1 and XC2 pro classes.
These proposed pro rules are tentative, and will not be finalized until the GNCC Rider Meetings that follow the GNCC Awards Banquet on December 4-5. This allows the GNCC community time to view the rules and allow for a public comment period.
The most significant proposals highlighted are for the bike classes. Racer Productions has established a minimum age requirement that will be implemented over a one-year grace period. The 2010 minimum age requirement for the XC2 Pro Lites class will be 15 years old and 17 years old for the XC1 Class. In 2011, these ages will increase to 16 and 18 years old for the respective classes.
The second proposal for bikes allows the use of 250 two-strokes in the XC2 Pro Lites Class. This change is consistent with the AMA Amateur Racing Rulebook.
The proposed rules can be viewed by clicking here.
After the banquet rider's meeting the tentative amateur rules will be posted for public comment as well.
To provide suggestions or comment on the proposed rules, please email Technical Manager Jeff Canfield at Jcanfield@gnccracing.com. Jeff Canfield, Race Director for MX Sports Pro Racing, has been recently assigned to the position of Technical Manager for GNCC Racing.
The 2010 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series begins with the West Gate River Ranch GNCC in River Ranch, Florida, which runs February 27 through March 2, as part of Bike Week.
For more information, check out the official series website at www.GNCCRacing.com or call 304-284-0084.
