HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – With the guidance of his doctors, Josh Grant has decided to repair a labrum tear in his right shoulder. The injury occurred during a crash while practicing the week prior to the opening round of the AMA Supercross Championship. Grant attended the race and tried his best to ride, but after qualifying for the main event he could not continue due to the pain and the inability to hold on well enough to ride safely.
Grant will undergo surgery Friday, and will spend the next six-to-eight weeks rehabilitating his shoulder before returning to action.
Grant’s Muscle Milk/Toyota/JGRMX teammate Justin Brayton is healthy and looking forward to round two of the AMA Supercross Championship, this Saturday, Jan. 16 in Phoenix, Ariz. at Chase Field. The original broadcast will air Jan. 17 on SPEED at 6:00 p.m. (EST).
