FARMINGDALE, NJ – May 31, 2011 – Bel-Ray Company, Inc. – Reed Makes it 2 in a Row
Round 2 of the AMA National Motocross Championship series took place on Saturday, May 28th in Freestone, Texas. Two Two Motorsports / Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed came into the weekend tied for the points lead with series' rival, Ryan Dungey, and he became the sole points leader when the dust settled at the end of the day.
The oppressive Texas heat and humidity was no match for the Australian native as Reed dug deep and showed the class what he was made of. After setting the second fastest time in the mornings' timed qualifying session, Reed was ready for a successful afternoon.
The first moto saw Reed get a Top 5 start and he quickly found his way into second place. Ryan Dungey made his way up to Reed's rear fender and challenged him for several laps. He pulled away from Dungey and found his way past the moto leader, Christian Craig, and into the lead that he would not relinquish. At the checkered flag, it was Reed with the win.
The second moto again saw Reed with a good start and he was quickly into second place. He tried an alternate line to try and gain time on moto leader, Ryan Dungey, and went down. Quickly back up and underway, he regained second place, but Dungey was too far out front. Disaster struck Dungey as his bike broke less than 2 laps from the end. Reed inherited the lead and the moto victory. His third a row. The first moto saw Reed get a Top 5 start and he quickly found his way into second place.
