After a well deserved break, many of Bel-Ray Racing‘s teams and riders resume competition this week around the world.
In AMA National motocross racing, TwoTwo Motorsports / Bel-Ray Racing’s Chad Reed comes into the Spring Creek MX Park National in Millville, Minnesota holding the red plate as the current points leader. Reed has won the overall at 4 of this season’s first 6 events, including the previous round in Michigan. He holds a 16 point lead over series rival, Ryan Villopoto coming into this weekend’s racing action. Joining the #22 of Reed in the 450 class are Bel-Ray Elite riders #96 Lowell Spangler, #449 Dakota Kessler and #606 Ronnie Stewart and #446 Frankie Lettieri in the 250 class.
Moto2 racing racing resumes in Germany for the German Grand Prix with Tech3 team rider Bradley Smith on a roll. His 3 consecutive podium finishes are a record for a British rider and he is looking to improve on his 3rd place finish from Italy just 2 weeks ago. He is currently in 3rd place in the season’s points standings, just 16 points out of 2nd place. Teammate Mike DiMeglio has been struggling all season long but is looking for the breakout ride in Germany, a track he won on in 2008.
After a rough weekend in Germany, TM Factory Racing rider Tanel Leok is looking to improve his World Grand Prix MX1 finishes this weekend in Latvia. His 15-27 moto finishes in Germany were good enough for 19th overall, Leok is still in 13th place overall in the season’s points standings.
After Round 4 of the CMRC National Championship series in Morden, Manitoba, Canada the Kini / Red Bull / KTM / IMX / Bel-Ray Racing team of Kieran Leigh and Mason Phillips are both currently in 8th place overall in their respective classes as the series heads to Gopher Dunes in Tillsonburg, Ontario this weekend.
