N-Fab/TiLUBE/Yamaha Race Report

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (June 24, 2013) – Round five of the Pro Motocross Championship went off this past weekend in Budds Creek, Md. with the Red Bull Budds Creek National. Once again Mother Nature was smiling on the Budds Creek facility and a picture perfect day welcomed the N-Fab/TiLUBE/Yamaha riders.
Phil Nicoletti and Chris Blose both qualified easily into the motos via the 13th and 27th positions.
Moto 1 saw both Nicoletti and Blose getting off to good starts, rounding the first turn, both riders were inside of the top 20. While battling for position on first lap disaster struck, Nicoletti and Blose would go down hard. Fortunately, they both would be able to remount and begin a charge back to the front. Riding well and fighting hard for positions, Nicoletti moved up to 18th with Blose in 27th at the halfway mark. Nicoletti was continuing to make his way up through the pack in search of valuable points finishing Moto 1 in 15th. Unfortunately, Blose suffered from a mechanical because of his earlier crash but successfully finished the moto in 32nd.
Moto 2 got off to a much better start for Nicoletti as he rounded turn one in eighth. Blose would once again struggle with lap on issues and go down while fighting for positions. Again he would remount and begin a charge to the front. As the crossed flags few, marking the half way point of the race, Nicoletti was riding fantastic in sixth and Blose was looking good in 29th. When the checkered flag flew, Nicoletti would cross the line in sixth, while Blose would pick up a few more positions finishing in 23rd. Their second Moto scores secured a seasons best ninth (Nicoletti) and 30th (Blose) overall finish for the N-Fab/TiLUBE/Yamaha riders.
“I felt really good in qualifying today,” said Nicoletti. “Moto 1 started out well but I made a mistake and went down. For sure I was not going to give up so I just rode as hard as I could to salvage as many points as possible. Moto 2 I really wanted to get back what I gave up in Moto 1. I am pumped to get sixth and know I have the speed to be there every weekend. I can’t wait till next weekend.”
“I am really not sure why I keep having problems on early on in the moto,” said Blose. “My plan was to get through the first few laps without incident and just make my passes so I am inside the top 20. My speed is good but and I will keep working as hard as I can during the week.”
The Pro Motocross Championship travels to Southwick Ma. for the Moto X 338 National on Saturday, June 29th. Be sure to stop by the N-Fab/TiLUBE/Yamaha truck to show your support and to have your picture taken with Chris Blose and Phil Nicoletti from 9:00 – 12:30 p.m. See you there!
