FARMINGDALE, N.J. (July 26,
2016) – Bel-Ray
sponsored racers and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing riders Max Nagl and
Max Anstie secured podium finishes at the FIM Motocross World Championship
Czech Republic. Nagl claimed his first MXGP victory on the 2016 season, while
Anstie finished third in the MX2 Class on July 24.
Nagl started round 13 of the FIM Motocross World Championship in
second place and maneuvered his way into first place by the second lap. Nagl
remained in the lead for the rest of the race to secure the win. In the second
race, Nagl was able to work his way into third place by the end of the first
lap. In the sixth lap, Nagl was in first place and continued to keep his lead.
“It was a great GP for us,” said Max Nagl. “Despite only having
the 14th gate pick, I managed to get two great starts in the final
motos. I wanted to avoid being passed by any means, so I gave it all to remain
out front until the end. My plan was to put pressure on him and that’s exactly
what happened. He made a mistake a few laps before the end and when I got the
lead I just went for it. Getting two race wins for my first overall victory
this season is just great. It’s so good for the team and a great confidence
booster for me as well.”
After not getting his desired start in moto one, Max Anstie was
able to recover and finish third overall in the MX2 class. After starting moto
one in 10th, Anstie was able to launch his way through the field into
second place. For moto two, Anstie worked his way to the second by the halfway
point. He made a quick move into the lead near the end, but suffered from a
small crash before finishing in third.
“It was a solid weekend for sure and we can be happy with it,”
said Anstie. “All of my practice sessions and races were good and I felt pretty
good on my bike. It was nice to get a podium result in this track, even though
I knew we could have done better. In moto one I didn’t get a good start and had
to battle through the pack for second. Then in moto two…I tried really hard to
pass him for the overall win, but it didn’t end up so well. I’d used a lot of
my energy trying to come forward in moto one so there was not much left in the
tank. It’s just one of those things.”

Republic include Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing riders Conrad Mewse
