PAYSON, UT (February 9, 2016) – The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Amateur National Motocross Championship – more commonly known as Loretta Lynn’s – has become the most anticipated amateur motocross event for up and coming riders over the years. The 2016 season will consist of 55 Area Qualifiers, beginning on February 13-14 at MMX Racing in Marysville, CA.
The Area Qualifiers take place across eight regions in 34 states, spanning from February to May. If a rider places in a qualifying position during the Area Qualifiers, they will be advanced to the Regional Championship for their area, which takes place in June. If riders go on to win a qualifying position at the Regionals, they are assured a spot at the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Amateur National Motocross Championship, held at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN, for a weeklong event from August 1-6, 2016.
Rocky Mountain ATV/MC will be offering their Race Gas program again this year for all participants in the Area Qualifiers, Regional Championships, and the main event at Loretta Lynn’s. The Race Gas gift cards will consist of a $10 gift card for every Area Qualifier participated in, and a $20 gift card for each of the Regional Championships and the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Amateur National Motocross Championship.
“The Race Gas program has had a huge impact on the racers that participate in the Area Qualifier system,” said MX Sports Director Tim Cotter. “This program is a testament of the commitment that Rocky Mountain ATV/MC has to the AMA Amateur National Championship program, and the racers and their families that participate.”
“We are excited to continue our sponsorship for Loretta Lynn’s again this year,” said Dan Thomas, CEO of Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. “The riders here at Loretta’s are the future professionals of our sport, and we know the dedication and work they put in to make it to this event. We are pleased to support the amateur racing community through the season with our Race Gas program and are excited to see the regional qualifiers at the championship this summer.”
