The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team traveled down to Southern California for the second round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, held at the Glen Helen National in San Bernardino, Calif. on Saturday. The team had a solid showing with Jason Anderson nailing down a podium finish in the 450 class and Zach Osborne maintaining his lead in the 250 class championship.

Fastest qualifier Jason Anderson was top-10 at the start of the first 450 moto and came out of the first lap in fourth. He inherited the third-place spot after Christian Craig went down while leading and continued to charge as before conceding the position to Marvin Musquin around the halfway point. He held strong the remainder of the race and finished fourth. He pulled a massive holeshot in the second moto and led every lap until there were two laps to go when he conceded the position to Eli Tomac. He finished second, giving him 4-2 for third overall on the day. He is currently third in 450 rider point standings.

“This weekend was definitely better than last weekend,” said Anderson. “I qualified first, which was pretty cool. I started up front in the first moto but I got a little tight so I ended up fourth. I pulled a big holeshot in the second moto and led all the way up until two laps to go until I got passed by Tomac. All-in-all it was progress so it was a good day."

Coming off a win at last week’s season opener, Zach Osborne pulled the holeshot in the first 250 moto before sliding back to third. He charged ahead and waited for his opportunity to strike before making an impressive pass for second in the second lap. He continued to put in fast laps and inched closer to the leader before washing out his front end in a corner with two laps to go. He remounted quickly and held his position to finish second. He was top-10 at the start of the second 250 moto and came out of the first lap in sixth. He went on the attack and set a blistering pace as he made the pass for fifth in the second lap then made the pass for fourth shortly after. He was on the move and inched closer to the third-place spot. He continued to charge until he started swapping through the whoops before going down and crashing into the fence with three minutes to go. He remounted quickly and kicked his way back into the race while only losing one position. He stayed consistent the remainder of the race and finished fifth. He went 2-5 for fourth overall on the day, and maintains his lead in 250 rider point standings.

“Glen Helen was pretty good,” said Osborne. “I had a couple mistakes that cost me, and carried a bit of an injury in, but it was a decent weekend. I’m glad to get out of here unscathed and I’m ready to make my way to some good tracks."

Jordan Bailey was mid-pack at the start of 250 moto 1 and put in a hard charge to make it up to 14th by the third lap. He stayed consistent to finish 14th. He got a good start in the second moto and focused on moving through the pack, making it into the top-10 before the end of the first lap. He rode strong in the top-10 for the majority of the race before finishing 13th. He went 14-13 for 13th overall on the day, and is currently 17th in 250 rider point standings.

“It was chilly today,” said Bailey, “but the track held up pretty well. I definitely made progress. I didn’t get off to a good start in my first race but I made a lot of passes to finish 14th. I got a better start in my second moto and was ninth for the majority of the race but then got shuffled back. I’m looking forward to a better finish next weekend in Colorado."

Michael Mosiman was mid-pack at the start of the first 250 moto but suffered from multiple crashes throughout the race. He remounted each time and charged ahead to finish 18th. He started in a better position in the second moto and continued to push as riders fell back. He was looking strong until he went down hard, remounted, then went down again later in the race. He forged ahead and finished 18th. He went 18-18 for 17th overall on the day, and is currently 15th in 250 rider point standings.

“It was a different day here at Glen Helen,” said Mosiman. “I’ve been sick this week so it was tough. I felt good on the bike, though. I got collected in a pileup and went down a couple more times the first moto. I did a little better the second moto and was in 14th, then guys started dropping off around the halfway mark and I caught way up. Then I crashed again and tumbled for awhile, then I crashed again. It was a tough day, but I’ll learn from it and will come back swinging next week."
