Payson, UT (May 29, 2018) – The third round of the 2018 Pro Motocross Championship series headed to the massive hills of the Glen Helen MX outdoor national this past weekend. Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS rider Blake Baggett dug deep, riding without a grip in the second moto to score a 7th place overall finish, while teammate Benny Bloss managed an 11th place finish and Dakota Alix soldiered to an 18th place finish in the 250MX class.

Blake Baggett had the tough Glen Helen track dialed as he lined up for moto one with the 4th fastest time of the day. The Hinson Racing-backed rider kept it wide open down the long start straight and found himself deep inside the top ten early in the race. He then worked his way inside the top five, holding down 5th place at the checkered flag. Blake had his work cut out for him in moto two. Blake rounded the first turn in second but went down in the next corner with both him and his bike getting run over multiple times, tearing off his left grip. Determined, he picked up his bike without a left grip and pinned it to put on the charge of the race from last place all the way to 9th by the end of the moto. His never-quit attitude earned him 7th overall, and he heads into round three 5th in championship points.
“It was a tough day,” said Baggett. “I felt good all day and had a great start in the second moto until I went down. After getting up, I just dug deep and did what I had to do. I am looking forward to Colorado as it is one of my favorite tracks.”
Benny Bloss had a good weekend and looked fast racing inside the top ten both motos. In moto one, he let his Dunlop tires dig into the Glen Helen dirt at the start and ran inside the top five early on. Benny kept the pace all moto, sliding back a few spots to 7th. While putting on a late-race charge for 6th place, he would go down on the last lap and finished 22nd as a result. He then turned it around in moto two as another solid start allowed him to battle at the front of the pack. Benny kept it wide open and finished 6th, earning him 11th overall on the day and – more importantly – 9th place in championship points heading into round three.
“It was an up-and-down day,” said Bloss. “I felt good, and my speed was there all day. I am happy with my riding, though It was unfortunate I went down at the end of the first moto. We leave Glen Helen healthy and look forward to Lakewood next week.”
Dakota Alix overcame being buried deep inside the top twenty in 250MX moto one, powering his way through the field to a 15th place finish. He again started inside the top twenty in the second moto, but he lost the front end and went down hard on lap three. Dakota got back up and finished the moto, earning him 18th overall on the day.
