Payson, UT (May 7, 2018) – The seventeenth round of the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship Series, made its way to Las Vegas, NV, for the final round of the season. As race fans enjoyed Bubba Burgers off the grill in the team pits, it was a top ten night as team rider Blake Baggett finished in 3rd and Benny Bloss put in his best ride of the season in 6th.

Baggett Vegas 2018
Blake Baggett came into Las Vegas ready to finish the season strong. In heat one, Blake got a good launch out of the gate and rode inside the top five early on. He made a few quick passes in the race, riding smooth to finish 3rd. In the last main event of the season, Blake once again timed the gate perfectly and jumped into 3rd place early. He rode an excellent race, keeping the pace and hitting his marks every lap, and ended the race in 3rd place, his fifth podium of the season. His podium finish locked down 4th place in the final championship points.
“It was a good race,” said Baggett. “I had good starts all night, and with the track being difficult, it helped being at the front. I’m happy with how I rode and to end the season on the podium.”
Benny Bloss Vegas 2018
Benny Bloss had his best night of the season. He blasted out of the gate in his heat race, rounding the first turn in second. Showing confidence, Benny made a run for the lead through the tough whoop section early on. He kept pace, sliding back a few spots to finish 5th. Another good start in the main event had Benny deep inside the top ten. The Galfer-supported rider was on rails as he worked his way forward, finishing a season-best 6th place. He ended the season on a high note as he was awarded the 450SX Rookie of the Year award.
“I had a great night,” said Bloss. “Tonight, I showed my speed and that I belong up at the front. It felt great to put in my best ride of the season here at the last round to end the supercross season on a positive.”
With Dakota Alix not making the 250SX East/West Showdown, Anthony Rodriguez was the lone team rider in the main event. He didn’t have the race he was looking to end the season with as a start at the tail end of the pack kept him from moving forward. Anthony rode to a 19th-place finish. Even with the bad night, Anthony finished the season 9th in the 250SX East points standings.
As Supercross comes to an end, Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS now shifts focus and prepares for the opening round of the Pro Motocross Nationals at Hangtown MX in Sacramento, CA.
