DUNGEY STILL LEADS AFTER SAN FRANCISCO CRASH
Team Suzuki Press Office - January 31.
Rocktar Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey crashed as he led Saturday night's AMA/ FIM Supercross Championship fourth round in San Francisco, but remounted to take fourth place and keep his series lead intact.
With a shortened practice schedule due to rain that fell in San Francisco in the days leading up to the race, riders were given a total of 15 minutes of practice before the heat races. After timed practice, Dungey was in the second spot with a time of 53.337. During Heat 1, he was second for most of the eight laps, but he clipped a Tuff Block in the final laps and finished sixth.
As the gate dropped for the Main Event, Dungey came out with the holeshot. At his best, he had more than a nine-second lead on the field about half way through the race. The rhythm section he had troubles with during the heat race proved to be his nemesis and Dungey's boot caught in a rut, resulting in the racer separating from his bike. With the gap he had given himself with great line choice, Dungey was able to get back on his bike in second place. The 20-year-old rookie from Minnesota crossed the finish line in fourth spot after struggling with a bent clutch lever and a bent front brake rotor, which left him essentially without a front brake for the rest of the race.
"After practice, I felt good," Dungey said. "I think we made some good changes to the bike. I felt confident in the heat race, but I had a little tip over, so I tried to regroup. I came out and got a great holeshot in the Main and then I caught my foot and threw it away. I salvaged it for fourth, which is not too bad. I'm thankful that I'm alright and healthy." His fourth-place finish in San Francisco was enough to keep him 12 points ahead of second place.
Team Manager Roger DeCoster was feeling confident going into the race, and afterwards was happy that his racer was uninjured. "It could've been a lot worse," DeCoster said. "We're leaving here still with the points lead; we gave up a few points, but considering after his crash he had no front brake and no clutch and he still came out in fourth place, that's still pretty good. I'm sure he's going to be sore, but there's no serious injury. The bike was working well, so this week we probably have more to do with a chiropractor than a mechanic."
Austin Stroupe, Dungey's Rockstar Makita Suzuki team mate, who is filling in on the RM-Z450 in the Supercross class for Matt Moss, missed the race due to illness. He is expected to return to action in San Diego.

Kawasaki will go pink for Breast Cancer Awareness on February 13th.
Courtesy of Kawasaki
Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. today announced plans to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research and the Susan G. Komen For The Cure® organization. The company will teach non-riders to ride motorcycles during a 24-hour dirt bike rider training marathon on the eve of the February 13 Monster Energy® Supercross race in Anaheim, Calif.
The Anaheim event, round six of the 2010 Monster Energy Supercross Series, will feature a pink motif throughout the program. Riders and teams will wear pink and the motorcycles will also carry the color to draw more attention to breast cancer awareness.
To help promote the cause, Kawasaki will host five training schools during a 24-hour period on Friday, February 12. The schools, which are free to the public with a donation to breast cancer research, are four-hour introductory courses that will be held at Kawasaki's U.S. headquarters in Irvine, Calif. The dirt bike course is an ideal way for beginners to learn the fundamentals of off-road riding and basic two-wheeled dynamics. Throughout the day, professional instructors will teach fundamentals, while Kawasaki celebrity guests will be on hand to cheer on the new riders - and maybe even offer a riding tip or two.
Participants not only have the opportunity to learn to ride and help fight breast cancer, they will also receive an amazing array of freebies, including a ticket to the Anaheim Supercross the next day, a track walk and an exclusive tour of the Monster Energy Kawasaki pit area.
"Everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer," said Jan Plessner, Kawasaki's Public Relations Manager. "We wanted to do something unique to show Kawasaki support and at the same time, provide a large-scale and fun opportunity for new riders to get trained."
To reserve your spot in one of the limited-space classes, please contact Lauren Oldoerp at l.oldoerp@freemanmccue.com or (714) 557-3663 ext. 203. Was this post helpful? Add yours to our service or subscribe to our feed above.

AMA SUPERCROSS CHAMPION JAMES STEWART
UNDERWENT SURGERY TODAY, FRIDAY, JANUARY 29TH, 2010
LOS ANGELES, CA – Team San Manuel Yamaha’s James Stewart underwent surgery this afternoon, to repair a broken scaphoid in his right wrist. Following Round 3 of the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, in Anaheim, CA, Stewart continued to experience severe pain in the wrist. Although previous x-rays had not indicated there was a break, an MRI performed yesterday and reviewed by medical experts today, revealed the bone was broken. Surgery was performed immediately by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Arthur Ting, of Fremont, CA and was completed without incidence.
As a result of the surgery, Stewart will not be competing in San Francisco this weekend. His return to the race track will depend on how quickly he is able to recover post-surgery and will be evaluated and determined on a weekly basis. “James is a true champion. The fact that he rode as competitively as he did making the podium at Anaheim 2 with a broken wrist (unknowingly) is testimony to that. He’s anxious to heal and get back on the race track as soon as possible,” said Larry Brooks, Team Manager.

Maxxis Offers $315,510 in GNCC Cash Contingencies
ATV and motorcycle racers in the GNCC know that choosing Maxxis can reward them with a spot on the podium - and in 2010, all racers can qualify for sweet cash contingencies from the company.
You read it correctly- CASH! Not just discounts, coupons or free products, but cold, hard cash. And these cash awards are up for grabs in ALL classes. How could the deal be any sweeter? Well, payouts are available for first through fifth place!
"Historically, Maxxis has offered cash for certain classes and free tires for the rest. This year, we've gone to an all-cash contingency since racers are having a harder time than ever coming up with the money for things like gas, hotels and all other race expenses. And of course, the extra cash will help when they need to replace their well-used Maxxis tires," said Maxxis' senior sales representative Harry Tripp.
Riders must run Maxxis tires on all four wheels for ATV and front and rear for motorcycle, and must display the specified number of Maxxis decals on their vehicles. Full instructions are on the contingency forms. To view or download forms, please visithttp://www.maxxis.com/MotorcycleATV/Contingency-Programs.aspx.

AURORA, Ill. – AMA Supercross class points leader Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., brings a 15-point lead into tomorrow night’s Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, at San Francisco’s AT&T Park and a two-race win streak.
Since 1974, the first rider to win two AMA Supercross class main events in a season has gone on to win the championship 17 times. Dungey, who is riding in his first full season as a rookie in the AMA Supercross class will compete for his third consecutive win this season.
"To get our second win was unbelievable and I can’t thank the guys on the team enough,” said Dungey, who rides for the Rockstar/Makita Suzuki team. “Now, I'm just going to try to carry the momentum and remember its one race at a time. I also want to have fun, enjoy it, and let the rest come. I enjoy San Francisco, and last year they did a great job on the track with preparation, so I’m looking forward to the race on Saturday."
Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki’s Team Manager was confident that Dungey could content for the podium positions coming into the season and is impressed with his early success in the AMA Supercross class.
"I knew going into the season that Ryan was a podium guy. I was confident in him, and he’s doing even better than just getting on the podium, said DeCoster. “He’s the most consistent and he’s winning. At the same time, the team needs to keep its feet on the ground and do one race at a time. We’re doing well, but the championship is a long ways off. We cannot get carried away and think this is it. It’s only the third race out of 17."
Defending AMA Supercross class champion James Stewart, who rides for the San Manuel Yamaha team is no stranger to winning in San Francisco as he is the only rider in history to win in San Francisco in the AMA Supercross and AMA Supercross Lites classes. Last weekend in Anaheim marked only the sixth time in his career that he’s finished third in AMA Supercross class racing.
Monster Energy Kawasaki heads to San Francisco hoping to get back on the podium with Ryan Villopoto, of Poulsbo, Wash. After avoiding a mud race in Anaheim, Villopoto hopes the weather cooperates again in San Francisco.
“I hope it isn’t a mud race,” said Villopoto. “We had a great track at Anaheim and anytime we can avoid mud is best. I’ve been working on a few things this week and I’m ready to challenge for the win.”
In the AMA Supercross Lites class, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer, of Rupert, Idaho, is looking to stay perfect after he has won the first three races of the season.
“I’m just staying in my routine,” said Weimer. “I want to keep doing the same things and stay successful. There really is no secret to winning, you just have to work hard and be ready to take advantage when you can. So I’m just going to keep putting in the laps during the week to stay on top of the box.”
Weimer’s teammate Josh Hansen had his best finish of the season at Anaheim and he is looking to parlay that into a trip to the podium this week.
“I’m right there and I know I can win,” said Hansen. “It is time for me to get on the podium and put together a complete race. I’ve been fastest in practice. I’ve grabbed a couple of holeshots and I’ve won a couple of my heats but I need to put all that together in the main event.”
Honda Red Bull Racing’s Andrew Short equaled his best showing of the season last week, coming from behind to finish in fourth place aboard his CRF450R, elevating him to a tie for third in the AMA Supercross class points chase.
“I’m really happy with the way I rode at Anaheim and I definitely feel like the overall result didn’t reflect my effort put in,” said Short. “I didn’t get a great start and had to work really hard to come from behind. Considering all the rain and lack of track time in the lead-up to the event, I’m definitely proud of the way I rode and my result. I share third place in the series points, which is a great place to be heading into in San Francisco, and again they’re predicting a wet race—we’ll see.”
GEICO Powersports Honda’s Kevin Windham finished the first lap in 13th place and put in a gutsy effort to take fifth place. Millsaps got a mid-pack start and battled hard to reach as high as sixth place but then dropped two spots to finish eighth.
Last week, Troy Lee Designs Honda’s Wil Hahn put in the best race of his season, finishing in second position. GEICO Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard rallied aboard his CRF250R to overcome his slow—outside the top ten—start, taking the checkers a close third.
“I put myself in a tough spot by not getting a good start,” said Canard. “I knew I had to ride a smart race if I was going to catch the riders in front and just kept chipping away to eventually get third. I’m happy to be second in the series points after three rounds an looking forward to San Francisco this weekend.”
Cole Seely scored his best finish of the 2010 season on his Troy Lee Designs Honda CRF250R, by grabbing fifth spot while GEICO Powersports Honda’s Blake made the best of his mid-pack start to take eighth place.

2010 AMA Arenacross Notes: Kansas City
Courtesy of Feld Motorsports
AURORA, Ill. – As the 2010 AMA Arenacross Series enters its fourth round of the season this weekend and makes its return to Kansas City’s Kemper Arena, the headlining story a quarter of the way through remains Babbitt’s Monster Energy/TiLube Kawasaki’s Tyler Bowers. After a total of six races, Bowers has grabbed the win all but one, including the last five in a row.
Currently, the Kentucky native holds a 24-point lead over his teammate Chad Johnson, who coincidentally is the only other race winner in 2010, and appears to be in no hurry to slow down the momentum. Johnson has without a doubt been the second-best rider in the series, working his way through the field on more than one occasion en route to a solid podium result. If the two-time champion can garner some consistency on his starts, he could give Bowers a run for his money.
Despite the nearly full-race advantage over the field, Bowers still has a full nine rounds and 13 races before the season comes to an end, meaning there are 325 main event laps in which he needs to avoid trouble. In a discipline where the racing is so tightly contested and on-track space is at a premium, trouble tends to find a rider at some point. However, if Bowers continues to capitalize on his strong starts, it will be hard to catch him.
Saturday night’s showdown also marks the opening round of the 2010 AMA Arenacross Lites Western Regional Championship. After six exciting races of Eastern Regional competition that produced a parity-heavy five different winners, the youth movement from the West Coast takes center stage in what is sure to be an equally unpredictable title fight.
The AMA Arenacross Series’ last visit to Kemper Arena was in 2008. After a year hiatus, the world’s most intimate form of dirt-bike racing returns with one of the most talented fields in history and the resurgence of the 450cc motorcycle in the premier AMA Arenacross class.
Located in the heart of the country, Kemper Arena has been a staple of the AMA Arenacross Series for many years. As one of the most well-known venues in the country, it is also one of the largest in terms of capacity on the series schedule, capable of holding 19,500 fans.
The arena rose to fame thanks to its illustrious résumé of college basketball competitions. The nearby University of Kansas Jayhawks call Kemper Arena their second home while the NCAA has hosted the Final Four at the arena as well.
Since opening in 1974, Kemper Arena has become one of the landmark venues in the middle portion of the United States. In addition to numerous sporting events, it has also played host to several of the world’s most famous musical artists like Elvis, Kiss, AC/DC, Michael Jackson and Garth Brooks. On Saturday night, it will transform into a man-made dirt battleground, showcasing some of the most exciting racing on the planet.
The first gates drop on the Kansas City Arenacross Saturday, January 30 beginning at 7:30 p.m. The action concludes with Amateur Day on Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m.
Advance tickets are available for this weekend’s Kansas City Arenacross at the Sprint Center Box Office, Ticketmaster charge by phone and ticketmaster.com. Tickets cost $2 more the day of the race.
Fans in attendance also can take part in the Track Party on Saturday from 5-6 p.m. for the chance to meet the riders and get autographs. Simply recycle any MONSTER ENERGY can at the gate entrance for FREE admission. Must have valid Saturday event ticket to enter.
Tickets for all rounds of the 2010 season can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com and www.arenacross.com.

More than 600 racers from 12 countries and yet another sellout at the ’09 Orleans Arena MMSX has all signs pointing at another hugely successful event for 2010!
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2010) – MiniMotoSX welcomes two loyal sponsors back to the World’s biggest mini bike race™ as MX industry titans GEICO Powersports and Monster Energy have stepped up as the title and presenting sponsors, respectively, of the 2010 GEICO MiniMotoSX, presented by Monster Energy, set for Friday, May 7th at Las Vegas’ Orleans Arena.
“The level at which both GEICO Powersports and Monster Energy came on board with MiniMotoSX this year is a direct testament to how big this event’s become, as well as the staying power of mini bike racing in the motocross industry,” said Lance Bryson, Director of Sales & Marketing for GEICO EnduroCross. “MiniMotoSX looks forward to partnering on various promotions with GEICO Powersports and Monster Energy in the coming months, culminating with MiniMotoSX kicking off the weekend’s festivities at the final round of Monster Energy Supercross.”
New for 2010 will be the MMSX World Final race intended to crown the fastest mini bike racer on the planet. The top three Youth and Expert 10” and 12” riders will be joined by the top ten international racers for one insane main event with $5,000 in podium prize money at stake for the Experts!
“The new World Final will be the war to settle the score as to a year’s worth of bragging rights to the coveted King of MMSX,” said Source Interlink Media’s Mike Karsting. “United States’ best versus the top international riders. You couldn’t ask for a more thrilling gate to cap off the night’s show!”
Also, for the first time ever, MMSX at the Orleans will feature electric bikes competing head-to-head with the combustion bikes in the 16” class. After years of being an exhibition class, electric bikes will finally get the chance to see if they can hold it down against the gasoline-powered bikes. Will they be able to keep up? The annual GEICO MiniMotoSX is the largest indoor motorsports competition of its kind. With more than 600 registered riders in 2009 the event literally allows for mini bike enthusiasts to become part of the show. As one racer put it: “At GEICO MiniMotoSX you don’t just show up and watch racing in Vegas – you boot up and get on the track yourself to race in front of a packed house at the Orleans.” Featuring numerous classes at all age and ability levels, GEICO MiniMotoSX delivers an unforgettable day of racing action for both fans and racers alike, along with an affordable ‘Vegas experience’ given the hotel and ticket package at the Orleans Hotel and Arena. Ricky Carmichael to be Sponsored by Monster Energy in 2010 and Beyond
Courtesy of
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Continuing to show support to a remarkable athlete that over the years has done more to elevate the Monster Energy brand in the world of action and motorsports than any other, the Monster “M” claw will grace the green and black No. 4 Chevrolet Silverado of Ricky Carmichael in the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Joining forces with Turner Motorsports, LLC, Carmichael will compete in the entire 25 race NCWTS.
In the history of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), no other rider has won as many championships (15) and races (150) as Carmichael, earning him the nickname the Greatest of All-Time (the GOAT). He was also a record five-time AMA “Rider of the Year.”
The 30-year-old Clearwater, Florida native competed in 16 NCWTS races last season for Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) scoring two top-10 finishes before moving over to Turner Motorsports for the final two Truck Series races of the year, where he drove the No. 31 Chevrolet. He also piloted a KHI entry in two ARCA Racing Series presented by REMAX and Menards races in 2009.
Carmichael will wheel the Monster Energy sponsored truck in all 25 NCWTS events. In addition he will steer a Monster Energy Chevrolet in nine ARCA races, beginning with the season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.
“Monster has been a sponsor of mine for five years,” said Carmichael. “So it’s really an honor for them to continue to expand their motorsports efforts with me. I learned so much as a driver working with Kevin (Harvick) last year. He encouraged me to make the jump to Turner Motorsports because of the number of races I was going to be able to compete in. I know seat time is the key for me becoming a successful driver. Last season was a great year for me, but I am really looking forward this season.”
“We’re quite pleased to be back in NASCAR and supporting Ricky in 2010,” said Nick Gagliardi, Monster Beverage COO. “Ricky has been instrumental in making Monster Energy the No. 1 energy drink in America, and as we help him to reach his goals in racing, he’s going to help us in the marketplace with an entirely new sales and marketing program we’ve structured around him.”
Mike Fritts, who served as Carmichael’s crew chief in his first stock car endeavor in 2007, will again assume the role as crew chief for the 2010 season. The No. 4 Monster Energy team is locked in for the first five races of the season based on last season’s championship points.

ROCKSTAR MAKITA SUZUKI PRIMED FOR SAN FRANCISCO
Team Suzuki Press Office - January 28.
After Ryan Dungey's storybook start to the season, Rockstar Makita Suzuki is preparing to take to the track in San Francisco this weekend for the fourth round of the AMA/ FIM Supercross Championship.
So far, Rockstar Makita Suzuki has taken home the winner's trophy at two out of three races and Dungey hasn't finished lower than second all season.
Team Manager Roger DeCoster is pleased with the way the season has started. "I knew Ryan was a podium guy," DeCoster said. "I was confident in him and he's doing even better than just getting on the podium. He's the most consistent racer out there and he's winning." With the help of DeCoster and the rest of the team, Dungey has led 43 out of 60 laps in 2010.
Despite the great start to the season, the team is focused. "The team needs to keep its feet on the ground and do one race at a time," DeCoster said. "We're doing well but the championship is a long way off. We cannot get carried away and think this is it."
Dungey showed a lot of patience on the track for Anaheim 2 and he was very calculating in his race approach. Starting in about fifth place, Dungey methodically moved his way up until he took over the lead on lap 14. "When you have the guys ahead of you, it's important to not get over your head," Dungey said. "It was still early in the race and anything could happen; I didn't want to throw it away but at the same time I wanted to make those passes." Dungey finished the race with more than three seconds on the next competitor.
"This week, I'm going to work on some stuff that we need to work on, that we could be better in," Dungey said. "We're just going try to carry the momentum and remember it's one race at a time and also to have fun, enjoy it, and let the rest come." With 72 accumulated points, Dungey is currently the leader in the Supercross class.
The Suzuki RM-Z450 that both Dungey and his team mate Austin Stroupe pilot in the Supercross class is also a winner this year. The 2010 fuel-injected 450 nabbed the holeshot in every Main Event so far and it has gotten the holeshot in five out of six heat races. There is no doubt the RM-Z has plenty of power straight off the gate and the racers are using it to its full potential.

American Suzuki takes great pride in its longstanding support of motocross racers. That support continues in the 2010 racing season with more than $2.2 million in posted contingency. These funds will be available at 300 events across the country - more than any other manufacturer. Suzuki will pay the owner of any 2008, 2009 or 2010 RM85, RM-Z250 or RM-Z450 purchased new from a dealership for top 5 finishes at every contingency event, and the top 10 at any of the seven major amateur national events. Those important events include the Lake Whitney Spring National, the GNC International Finals, the NMA World Mini Grand Prix, the Mammoth Mountain MX, the NMA Grand National Championships, the Unlimited Sports Winter Olympics and the AMA Amateur National Championships. In addition to this generous monetary support, Suzuki will also be providing free trackside assistance at the seven amateur nationals as well as other selected events.
"American Suzuki continues to support motocross enthusiasts like no other manufacturer. Every dollar invested in the Motocross Contingency Program is going to the core of our sport - every local and regional racer who attends their weekly event in pursuit of victory. With the addition of the all-new, fuel-injected RM-Z250 and our race-proven RM-Z450, Suzuki racers across America will have a head start on the competition," stated Brian Noah, Suzuki Motocross Support Specialist.
As always, it pays to race a Suzuki. For program details, rules, registration and more, visit www.suzukicycles.com/racing.

Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010
All Roads Lead to Rome for FMX World Elite
After the most spectacular showdown in the history of Red Bull X-Fighters in London in 2009, the premier freestyle motocross series in the world returns in 2010 with new riders, new locations and plenty of new tricks. This year will once again see the crème-de-la-crème of the international FMX scene battle it out for the coveted title of Red Bull X-Fighters Champion.
Jostling for a place with old classics such as the traditional curtain raiser in Mexico City (MEX) and the legendary two-day event in the Spanish capital of Madrid (ESP) will be new and exciting locations for 2010. The second event of the six-stop Tour will take place in the shadow of the Pyramids and the world famous Sphinx in the city of Giza (EGY), where the dry heat and blazing sun will be sure to push the athletes to the limit. The next highlight follows just weeks later, as the Red Square and the Kremlin in the Russian capital of Moscow (RUS) host the world’s 12 best freestyle motocross athletes. Following Moscow, London (UK) will be recharged once more to electrify the crowd and the riders. The Red Bull X-Fighters finally head to the Eternal City, Rome (ITA), to crown the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour Champion.
Last year it was America’s Nate Adams who claimed the title in front of a sell-out crowd of 20,000 at London’s Battersea Power Station following a thrilling season full of twists and turns. This time around, Adams is back to try to defend his title and secure his place as one of the all-time greats of Red Bull X-Fighters. Among his most dangerous challengers will be multi-world record holder Robbie Maddison (AUS), who will be looking to finally secure victory in the overall standings after placing third and second, respectively, in 2008 and 2009.
In 2010, Red Bull X-Fighters is no longer an invitational. Instead of holding a ranking event, qualifying will be done according to performance and the World Tour ranking. The top six riders will be pre-qualified. This means that Adams (USA), Maddison (AUS), Eigo Sato (JPN), 2008 Tour Champion Mat Rebeaud (SUI), Dany Torres (ESP) and Levi Sherwood (NZL) are already seeded for the season opener in Mexico, based on their standings at the end of the 2009 season. Four additional spots will be battled out by six riders, who have been selected by the international Red Bull X-Fighters jury following an own application process which was started in autumn last year. Two Wild Card riders will complete the starting list. “This method will guarantee a fair competition on the highest sportive level with only the very best riders competing at each single Tour stop,” explained Sports Director Tes Sewell.

Tonight on DMXS Radio

Every season there is a surprise or feel-good story that fans can unite in cheering for and San Manuel’s Josh Hill is certainly one of those riders. After a forgettable year in 2009, Josh seems to have found a great fit with his new team, as his results have shown. The last time we had him on the show, during the off-season, he was contemplating getting a degree in Criminal Justice at DeVry as a back up plan if he failed to land a ride. We think Josh would have been a great CSI tech, but we’re certainly glad he is back racing and on the podium where he belongs.
Another great subplot to the supercross season is the emergence of Troy Lee Designs team as a legitimate podium contender as they continue to mix it up with the industry’s best every week with their manager David Pingree calling the shots. Ping has once again assembled a solid team that not only race well together, but actually seem to like each other while doing so. We’ll get his always entertaining perspective on the season so far and his plans for unleashing New Zealand’s Ben Townley back on the motocross world this summer.
The all-new Nuclear Cowboyz Freestyle Motocross tour is coming to the Georgia Dome in our backyard on Saturday, February 13, 2010. The tour has assembled the world’s greatest cast of FMX riders, including legends like Adam Jones, Mike Mason, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, Ronnie Faisst, and our good friend, Nate Adams, to take the sport to a whole new level in this ground breaking two-hour scripted performance that is getting awesome reviews industry wide. Nate “The Destroyer” Adams will be on to give us some insight and a behind the scenes look into the next chapter of FMX. Check out www.nuclearcowboyz.com for ticket sales and more information. We will be giving away some free tickets on the show tonight, so be sure to tune in live for your chance to win.
For those of you that have listened to our show for many years, you know we love us some Tucker Hibbert. The Monster Energy Arctic Cat’s top rider will be going for a possible 10th overall medal this weekend at ESPN’s Winter X-Games 14. Tucker has been killing it on the national snocross tour and hopes to continue that steak into his eleventh Winter X Games appearance. Tucker will also be trying his sled skills in the new Knock Out competition which is based on the Moto Step-Up at the Summer X Games. We always support him throughout the winter since he always comes back to motocross when the snow melts. Make sure you watch and support him on ESPN and ESPN2 this weekend, and check out www.tucker-hibbert.com for more info.
Motoendurance.net’s Robb Beams is one the hardest working trainers in the business and with clients like Ashley Fiolek and Adam Cianciarulo you can understand why. Robb will be helping with the Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Championship and the Ricky Carmichael University on March 7-8, 2010, and will give us all the details tonight. You can get more info at www.MXSports.com about both events. We always enjoy having Robb on for his infinite knowledge on training and nutrition and will ask a few questions on those topics as well.
DMXS Radio is going on it’s 10th-year-anniversary and we are joining with some friends that have been with us, and supported us, from the beginning this Friday night for some comedy club fun. We invite anyone in the Atlanta area to join us at the Buford Variety Theater on Friday night to see our good friend Jarrod Harris and other comedians perform at this impromptu DMXS reunion. Courtesy of GNCC Racing
Morgantown, W.Va. (January 27, 2010) - Racer Productions, producers of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series, is proud to announce the hiring of Dean VanLeeuwen as the GNCC Sponsor Coordinator of the series.
VanLeeuwen will draw on five years of experiences as ATV Event Coordinator for Gear Racewear to ensure the smooth running of the vendor and pro pit area at the GNCC events.
"Coming to work for Racer Productions is something I have wanted to do for quite awhile and I'm very happy that our time has finally come to work together," VanLeeuwen said. "For me, it's a perfect fit. I can draw off of the relationships that developed in the several fantastic years I spent with Gear Racewear, of which I'm very grateful for, plus I get to be a part of what is the center of the MX and off-road universe. As the GNCC sponsor coordinator, I'm very much looking forward to the opportunities, challenges and excitement of the upcoming 2010 race season and being successful doing my part in making the GNCC events and all of Racer Productions events the very best they can be."
VanLeeuwen joined Gear Racewear in 2003 and worked under John Ayers as ATV Event Coordinator, coordinating with teams and promoters at events and implementing the production plans for each event. "Dean has worked a lot of events in his career," said Jeff Russell, GNCC Trail Boss. "His years of experience will be a great asset to GNCC Racing. With Dean helping sponsors and running the vendor and pro pit areas, that will take the burden off of me and put me back on the track with Buren Hamrick, ensuring an even better experience for the riders as well as sponsors and vendors."

So far, Rockstar Makita Suzuki has taken home the winner's trophy two out of three races, and Dungey hasn't finished lower than second all season.
Team Manager Roger DeCoster is pleased with the way the season has started. "I knew Ryan was a podium guy," DeCoster said. "I was confident in him, and he's doing even better than just getting on the podium.
"We're doing well, but the championship is a long ways off. We cannot get carried away and think this is it."
Dungey showed a lot of patience on the track for Anaheim 2, and he was very calculating in his race approach. Starting in about fifth place, Dungey methodically moved his way up until he took over the lead in lap 14.
"We're just going try to carry the momentum and remember it's one race at a time, and also to have fun, enjoy it, and let the rest come." With 72 accumulated points, Dungey is currently the leader in the Supercross class.
The Suzuki RMZ-450 that both Dungey and his teammate Austin Stroupe pilot in the Supercross class is also a winner this year. The 2010 fuel-injected 450 nabbed the holeshot in every main event so far, and it has gotten the holeshot in five out of six heat races. There is no doubt the RM-Z has plenty of power straight off the gate, and the racers are using it to its full potential.
Round 4 of the AMA Supercross will take place at AT&T Park in San Francisco on January 30.

AMA MX Annual NPG Summit
Courtesy of MX Sports
The 12 race organizers that host races in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship will all gather this weekend in San Francisco, Calif., for the annual National Promoters Group (NPG) summit. The meeting will take place in conjunction with the fourth round of the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series this Saturday evening, January 30.
The promoters will meet with series organizer MX Sports Pro Racing and their partners from Alli Sports, as well as Next Level Sports, AMA race officials, series sponsors and several athletes to discuss strategic planning for this summer's tour. In addition, promoters will compare ideas and suggestions on how to ensure the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Series continues to be the world-leading motocross championship.
"All of the AMA Motocross promoters and their families are looking forward to enjoying a great weekend of Monster Energy AMA Supercross in San Francisco," said Davey Coombs, MX Sports Vice President. "It's been a fantastic series so far and I think all of our promoters can learn from the excellent show that Feld Motor Sports puts on for their fans every Saturday night. We really appreciate Feld's hospitality and the fact that they will be hosting our group for their event."
The NPG was founded in 1997 as a way for the various AMA Motocross promoters to work together in order to produce a cohesive, consistent outdoor motocross championship. Beginning with the 2009 season, MX Sports Pro Racing has taken over the commercial and marketing rights for the historic series, but the NPG continues to play a vital role in ensuring the series continues to prosper.
The 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship begins on May 22 with the Hangtown Classic, just outside of Sacramento, Calif. For fan and racing information on the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, log onto www.allisports.com.

Ricky Carmichael University Releases Curriculum
Courtesy of MX Sports
After an early morning check in, the school starts out with a breakfast, where all the participants will meet Ricky and his crew of decorated instructors. Riders will then suit up and go through an individual riding analysis, with each student assigned to an instructor. Following that, students will first work on proper body positioning, while utilizing the organized drills that RC himself used to help hone his skills. Drills will focus on flat turns, rhythm sections and improved braking techniques.
"I have spent quite a bit of time trying to put together the most important pieces of what I have learned through all my years of racing," said Carmichael. "This program is really cool, and I can't wait to personally run and discuss the braking and cornering drills, which I think is one of the easiest places on the track to make up time. I will be suited and riding, and won't hesitate to run some of them myself."
Participants can expect to work with the close knit members of Ricky's team, which has become known as "Camp Carmichael" over the years. The final line up of all-star instructors will be announced in the coming weeks, but participants can expect additional coaches with credentials validated by national championships.
RCU is an exclusive and unprecedented opportunity for Motocross riders young and old to get personalized one-on-one training with the greatest rider of all time -- Ricky Carmichael and his team. The event is being held in conjunction with Daytona International Speedway and on the same course that the pros will ride during the legendary Daytona Supercross By Honda. Due to the exclusive nature of this event, participation is limited to the first 100 riders that register. For more information on RCU, please visit www.mxsports.com.
