Yamaha Extends Relationship with JGRMX

Courtesy of Yamaha Motor Corp.

Cypress, CA.  September 22, 2014 — Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA is pleased to announce the extension of our relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGRMX) through a new contract that will see the successful team race YZ450Fs in both the AMA Supercross and Outdoor series for at least the next two years. On top of that, Yamaha is proud to welcome two new riders to the Yamaha JGRMX family.

After an illustrious amateur career, Justin Barcia started off his professional career with a bang, winning the AMA Rookie of the Year award in 2009. He followed that early success with two 250SX East Coast Championships. That same success followed Barcia when he moved up to the 450 Class, as he won two 450SX Supercross races in his first season and took home the 2013 AMA 450 Class Rookie of the Year award. Already a proven winner with an intensity that is unrivaled, Barcia is looking forward to the start of the 2015 Season.

“I have met everyone over at Joe Gibbs Racing and already feel like part of the family, I am excited to start riding and training for the 2015 season,” said Justin Barcia, who has been recovering from ankle surgery earlier in the season.

Joining Barcia on the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX team is perennial underdog fan favorite Weston Peick. A long-time Yamaha rider Weston had a breakthrough season in 2014 and looks forward to carrying that momentum into the 2015 season now that he’s back on a YZ450F.

“I couldn’t be more excited to see what the future holds for the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX team. With Barcia and Peick under the tent and the improved 2015 YZ450F at their disposal it should be a very exciting year,” said Yamaha Motor Co. Racing Division Manager, Keith McCarty.

Justin Hill to Red Bull KTM for 2015 Season

Courtesy of Red Bull Ktm

Murrieta, CA – The Red Bull KTM Factory Team is excited to announce it has signed Justin Hill to race the 250 SX West Supercross Series and the Lucas Oil Pro 250 Motocross Championship for the 2015 season.

Hill hails from the state of Oregon where he lived throughout his amateur motocross career. It was at a young age that Hill became recognized as an upcoming star after securing multiple amateur motocross titles which led to a factory ride in his rookie season in 2013. During that season he earned two top five finishes in the 250 SX West Supercross Series.

In 2014, Hill landed on the podium five times in the 250 SX West Supercross Series. His first professional career win was at the San Diego Supercross. He also took a win at the Las Vegas East/West Shootout. Hill was sitting inside the top ten in points in the 250 Motocross class earlier this season before a shoulder injury sidelined him at Millville forcing him to sit out the remainder of the series.

“Obviously Justin’s improvement in the past year caught our eye,” stated Red Bull KTM Factory Team Manager Roger De Coster. “We saw him take two wins in the Supercross series and saw a lot of potential in his outdoor results as well. We are excited to have him join our team this season and feel he will complement our other rider, Marvin Musquin, very well giving the Red Bull KTM Team a competitive rider on each coast in the Supercross series.”

Hill was equally excited about signing with Red Bull KTM, stating, “I’m really happy to get the opportunity to join the Red Bull KTM Factory Team and work with Team Manager Roger De Coster. I’ve always been a big fan of Roger and what he has accomplished throughout his career. I’m looking at this as a fresh start with an exciting brand and an opportunity to join a race-focused company which is a perfect fit for me.”

Troy Lee Designs Racing Switches to KTM for 2015 and Beyond

Courtesy of Troy Lee Designs Racing

Murrieta, CA – Troy Lee Designs (TLD) announces a multi-year deal with KTM Motorsports which will see the Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Red Bull / KTM team riders compete in both the 2015 AMA Supercross Series as well as the 2015 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship aboard Red Bull / KTM supported motorcycles.
s1200_image (1)
Structured as a multi-year alliance, the cooperative effort will include both the factory supported Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Red Bull / KTM race team in addition to creating a newly defined infrastructure that will partner the successful KTM initiated Orange Brigade amateur program into the TLD operation. The mission of the initiative will be to create a world class structure which will bring talented young motocross racers into the KTM program, and in doing so, provide them with all of the technical assistance and professional guidance needed to help them achieve their goals in the sport, be they amateur national titles or AMA Pro Racing Number One plates.

“I can’t even put into words how excited we are to be teaming up with KTM,” says Troy Lee of the new racing collaboration. “We dream big over here at TLD, and in order to get to where we want to be, we needed a company that not only lives and breathes, and most importantly, believes in racing, but also one that has the infrastructure and equipment to help us reach our immediate, near and long term goals in the sport. More than any other company in modern history, KTM has proven to the motocross world that they are here to win and they will do absolutely anything that it takes to make that happen. To my way of seeing things, KTM takes a racing stance of ‘we need to race and race to win, then we’ll worry about selling motorcycles later.’ That’s just amazing to me and a philosophy both I and my employees want to be a part of. First and foremost, Troy Lee Designs is a racing company and the attitude KTM displays will motivate all of us to go above and beyond in our mission to become the planet’s elite program for developing young talent into The World’s Fastest Racers.”
s1200_image (2)
Added Jon-Erik Burleson, President of KTM North America, of the comprehensive TLD amateur and professional racing cooperative: “For the past four years we have been building a program to start with our Orange Brigade kids at an early stage and bring them all the way through our program to the professional level. By adding the TLD program, we can finally say all of the core components are there. They have a proven 250 program and a keen interest in farming from our already strong amateur program. Add to that the amazingly creative brand of Troy Lee Designs and we not only get a racing program, but a great collaboration of our two brands that will be really exciting to see develop over the next few years.”

Furthermore, the new partnership between Troy Lee Designs and Red Bull / KTM will see the world famous TLD design firm and paint shop collaborating on a spectrum of new and innovative projects and products which will blend the style and creativity TLD is globally recognized for, with the world class, competition-proven racing equipment design, built and refined by KTM.
