Suzuki Posts Double Contingency for Amateur Racers at the
5th Annual Monster Energy Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross

MORGANTOWN,
W.Va. (February 28, 2014) - The 5th Annual Monster Energy Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross (RCSX) is set to kick off next weekend,March 9 and 10, at the historic Daytona International Speedway. The AMA-sanctioned RCSX, an American Motocross Major event, is pleased to announce that Suzuki is offering double in contingency prize money this year, totaling nearly $60,000 for amateur racers.
Taking place just one day after Saturday's Daytona Supercross by Honda, many of the industry's top supporters will stick around to scout the upcoming talent and provide trackside support to the amateur racers. As a longtime supporter of 15-Time Champion Ricky Carmichael, Suzuki will return to the RCSX at Daytona for the fifth consecutive year in 2014. Suzuki's amateur support team will once again provide a strong presence on Sunday and Monday.
In addition to posting the most contingency of any manufacturer at this year's Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross, Suzuki is offerring racers who sign up for the 2014 Contingency Program a chance to compete for the opportunity to earn their spot for a two-day riding school with Ricky Carmichael through Suzuki's Camp Carmichael program.
"Suzuki Motor of America is pleased to be affiliated with Ricky and all the work that he does for Amateur racing," said Pat Alexander, Suzuki's Amateur Race Support Manager. "Suzuki's offer of double contingency dwarfs all other manufactures' programs and we look forward to the end of the season when the top Suzuki riders will earn a place to attend Camp Carmichael!"
After signing up for the 2014 Suzuki Contingency Program, riders who compete in any of the 2014 Suzuki Motocross Contingency Races and place in the top five will earn points towards the two-day riding school. Twenty-four racers are invited (12 - RM-Z250/450 Riders and 12 - RM85/L Riders) in the end and Suzuki will be helping out with the rider's travel costs. Suzuki amateur racers will have the opportunity to get riding tips from the GOAT himself on how to improve their corner speed, perfect those holeshots, blitz through the whoops and improve their speed and style through rhythm sections. He'll also cover topics such as fitness, training and bike set up. Suzuki's Camp Carmichael is the only place where you can get this special one on one instruction with RC, and it's only for Suzuki riders!
The RCSX class structure includes classes for youth riders on 50cc bikes all the way up to vet and senior classes. The race will follow a supercross format, using heat races and last chance qualifiers to seed the field of riders into a main event in each class, over the course of two days. Unlike the Loretta Lynn Ranch format, riders do not need to qualify at other races in order to participate in the Daytona event.

Courtesy of  Racer Productions

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (February 28, 2014) - Racer Productions, along with RacerTV, producers of GNCC's exclusive Internet- and television-based coverage, announce today the telecast and online streaming schedule for the 2014 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Maxxis. Featuring a total of 71 hours of race coverage from this year's 13-round GNCC Series, sanctioned by AMA, NBC Sports Network and RacerTV.com will once again combine to showcase the most comprehensive coverage in series history.
GNCC Live on RacerTV.com kicks off in conjunction with this year's Mud Mucker season opener in Bunnell, Fla. on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday with Round 1 of Pro ATV racing and continues on Sunday afternoon with Pro bike racing at 1 p.m.
Embarking on its second year of production this season, GNCC Live continues to provide in-depth race coverage using state-of-the-art broadcast equipment and innovative technology. The popular webcast will once again showcase live coverage of every Pro ATV and Pro bike race this season, totaling approximately 65 hours of live racing coverage throughout the season.
Longtime GNCC Announcer Rodney Tomblin will return as the host of GNCC Live, working alongside 2011 GNCC XC2 Pro Lites Champion and current Factory FMF/KTM XC1 Bike Pro Steward Baylor Jr., who will provide guest commentary for Saturday's ATV show, while Factory Yamaha-backed GNCC XC1 ATV Pro Johnny Gallagher will step into the booth during Sunday's bike show. As longtime GNCC Racers and well-accomplished athletes, both Stu and Johnny will provide unique insight and first-hand knowledge about the racing conditions. Outside the booth, Jen Kenyon will once again provide the latest breaking news from the pits, while also interviewing riders before and after they hit the course.
"In my twenty-plus years in the racing industry, this may be the most excited I have ever been," said GNCC Live host Rodney Tomblin. "Knowing the endless possibilities of bringing the racing action live to viewers at home through GNCC Live on RacerTV.com like it has never been done before has breathed a whole new life into my already burning passion for this sport. I am excited to work with such a talented team that loves this sport as much as I do."
In addition to its live coverage of the AMSOIL GNCC Series, RacerTV will also broadcast the most exciting action from each round on NBC Sports Network after each event. Beginning Saturday, May 10 with coverage of the Mud Mucker GNCC, NBC Sports Network will air 30-minute telecasts to include the most intense racing action of the weekend, ranging from Pro ATV and bikes to 4x4 ATVs, and even Side-by-Side racing from select events throughout the season.
"GNCC Live provides flag-to-flag coverage of the pro races, giving off-road enthusiasts a front row seat to the action even if they aren't able to attend an event," said RacerTV Producer Jason Hooper. "However, the all-new format on NBC Sports Network not only offers up additional content for those who are already tuning in, but it also provides viewers outside of this sport an all-encompassing view of what GNCC Racing is all about - more action, more intensity and even more racing on two- and four-wheels!"
Hooper also added, "It was our goal to place RacerTV shows around the most popular motorsports programming on the network and we're excited to announce that five of 13 GNCC shows will air before or after a round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, which is immensely beneficial to our viewership."

Field of Dreams land officially purchased from City of Millville
NJMP prepares for highly anticipated off-road park; construction scheduled to begin next week
MILLVILLE, N.J. – In a major development for the region’s off-road enthusiasts, New Jersey Motorsports Park announced today that it has made a land purchase for the planned Field of Dreams off-road park from the city of Millville.
The sale, finalized today, is effective immediately.
“We have been working on this project for so long, and to finally see if coming to fruition is just a phenomenal feat and unbelievable feeling,” said Clayton Keeler, Field of Dreams managing partner. “All of the pieces of the puzzle are finally coming together and we are extremely excited to work with NJMP and create a facility like none other,”
“We have the partnership, location, experience, and team to make this Park one of the best of its kind.”
A total of four professionally designed and built tracks will make up the facility, to be located on Buckshutem Road in Millville, including a smaller course for younger and inexperienced riders, and the largest for participants with the most experience on two and four wheels.
Among the planned tracks, a straight rhythm course designed for amateur riders will set Field of Dreams apart.
“Red Bull recently created a Straight Rhythm Track for its pro racers that was simply a half-mile straightaway; truly innovative to the sport,” Field of Dreams general manager Richard Schmidt said. “When the team got together and started discussing the possibility to create such a track, I made a major push for it. It will bring something totally unique to NJMP Field of Dreams.”
The Park’s trails system will feature tighter, narrower areas for two-wheeled riders and wider spots for those on four. “We want our trail system to cater to all off-road participants,” said Keeler.
For those who don’t own their own off-road vehicle, a training and rental center is also included in Field of Dreams’ plans.
“The training and rental center will be a great addition to the facility. We’ll offer training to the novice that needs to rent bikes and gear, and the rider looking to improve his or her skills on their own equipment,” Schmidt noted.
Although official rates are not yet finalized, daily practice and annual membership options are expected shortly. Racing events, both professional and amateur, are also planned.
Brad Scott, NJMP General Manager/COO, thanked the public for their patience and support throughout the process.
“Our fans have been waiting for this announcement,” Scott said. “They’ve been incredibly supportive, and the Field of Dreams staff is ready to deliver on the plans for a world-class off-road facility.”

Reed Out Action for Supercross, Wilson to Fill In

Courtesy of Discount Tire Racing/TwoTwo Motorsports

It is with great disappointment that Discount Tire Racing/TwoTwo Motorsports’ Chad Reed announces that he must sit out for the remaining rounds of the 2014 AMA Monster Energy Supercross series after undergoing shoulder surgery to repair injuries sustained in a racing accident in San Diego. Reed entered round 6 of the series after taking a commanding win just seven days earlier in Anaheim, his second win of the 2014 season, and only two points shy of the series championship point standings. Despite breaking three bones in the San Diego crash, Reed put in a valiant effort in Dallas this past weekend to stay in the hunt for series championship, however his injuries were too severe for Reed to complete practice qualifying. While Reed will now turn his focus to the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, he is also excited to announce a new chapter for Discount Tire Racing/TwoTwo Motorsports: Dean Wilson!
Discount Tire Racing/TwoTwo Motorsports reached an agreement with Mitch Payton of Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki to allow Dean Wilson to race Reed’s Kawasaki KX450F at select East Coast rounds of 2014 Supercross series. Wilson has prior experience racing the KX450F in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross; however this will be his first attempt at racing in the 450 Supercross class.
For Reed, choosing Dean as his fill in was an easy fit. “For me I’m ready to heal up and get back into training and focus my time and energy on getting ready for Outdoors,” said Reed. “I’m excited for Dean because it is the team’s long term goal to have multiple riders on the team and Dean’s name has been kicked around the semi for a long time. This is our first chance to see how it goes with another rider in the mix. Not only is Dean a good friend, but is also somebody who I respect for his talent. I’m excited for the chance to work with him and not dwell on the fact that I’m out of the championship. I’m excited to put a headset on and go to the races as team owner and try to see what we can do and have fun with Deano.”
Upon entering his first 450 Supercross race, Wilson looks forward to the opportunity of learning under Reed’s guidance.
“Joining Discount Tire Racing/TwoTwo Motorsports is going to be an awesome experience for me. Obviously I know Chad pretty well and I got the phone call last Saturday after he decided that he wasn’t going to be racing. It was a pretty cool phone call to get that he wants me to race his bike! I’ve wanted to do the 450 rounds on the East coast just to keep racing because I feel like I’m riding pretty well at the moment. Mitch (Payton) and Reid (Nordin, Kawasaki race team manager) were really supportive of this move, as well as the other team sponsors. I just want to mix it up with the boys and have fun. There is no pressure so it should just be some good racing and some good experience for me.”
Coming off of the West coast share of the series, Mitch Payton is excited for Dean to get seat time on the East coast before the series heads back west.
“We’re very happy that Chad has reached out to Dean to fill in for him while he is recovering,” said Mitch. “Both Chad and Pro Circuit are really good friends as Dean and Chad are also. We believe Chad’s team is organized and ready to do battle and we think this will be good for Dean to get experience in the 450 class. Coming off his West coast it is good to keep him out there racing and getting seat time.”
Reed plans on attending most of the remaining Supercross races as team owner and as rider coach as Dean transfers his efforts from the Kawasaki KX250F to the KX450F.

“The chance for these future stars to be featured in front of millions of eyes on FOX Sports 1 is incredible,” said Carmichael, a five-time Monster Energy Supercross Champion. “These kids have given it their all each week and have been impressive to watch, so to know they’ll have their chance in the spotlight on FOX Sports 1 is something I could not have ever dreamed of.”
“I’m almost speechless,” said Greensboro winner and TUF Honda rider Jacob Hayes. “I would have never thought in a million years that I would be seen on TV winning my first pro race, let alone having that race broadcast on FOX Sports 1. AMSOIL Arenacross has been such a great experience for me thus far and it only gets better knowing my family and friends can watch me each week on television.”

Bid on Race-Worn Gear from Top Riders at SupercrossOnline.comMilitary Appreciation Auction with Operation HomefrontStewart, Villopoto, Roczen, Dungey, Barcia, Tickle, Brayton, Hill, Reed, and Weimer
AURORA, Ill. (February 12, 2014) – Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, andOperation Homefront have teamed up to host an online auction benefitting the organization after last Saturday’s successful and memorable Military Appreciation Race from San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium. Fans have the chance to bid on the race-worn gear of the sport’s biggest stars that celebrated our service men and women with special military designs.
A total of 10 riders contributed to the auction – James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, Ken Roczen, Ryan Dungey, Justin Barcia, Broc Tickle, Justin Brayton, Josh Hill, Chad Reed, and Jake Weimer. Interested bidders can log onto the official Ebay store hosting the auction – SupercrossMilitaryAppreciation – and peruse the various items that were donated.
Stewart’s special edition Seven jersey featuring digital camouflage on the sleeves was worn during the afternoon practice sessions in advance of the night program in San Diego and was autographed for the auction. The Yoshimura Suzuki rider went on to win the first ever Military Appreciation Race, ending a 15-race winless drought.
Villopoto’s red, white, and blue Thor gear featured military patches and icons. The auction set features a signed jersey along with pants, goggles, and gloves. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider finished second last Saturday night and continues to lead the championship standings.
Ken Roczen was one of a few riders to wear Fox Racing’s white camo gear. The brightly colored accents made it a fan favorite and an entire set is available at the auction featuring a signed jersey to go along with pants, a helmet, and pair of boots. The Red Bull KTM rider grabbed the final spot on the podium, coming in third in San Diego.
Dungey wore the same gear as his Red Bull KTM teammate en route to a fourth-place finish. Pants, a helmet, and a pair of boots also accompany his signed jersey.
Barcia’s unique Alpinestars gear featured various shades of green with red and yellow accents that helped it stand out. Both Barcia’s jersey and pants have been signed and are available at the auction. The Team Honda Muscle Milk rider finished sixth on Saturday.
Tickle wore the same white camo Fox Racing gear as his KTM counterparts for RCH Racing/Soaring Eagle Suzuki. His jersey and pant combo are available at the auction. Tickle finished eighth in San Diego.
Brayton’s O’Neal gray camo set stood out thanks to its tribute to Operation Homefront on the sleeves, front, and back. Brayton signed and donated both his jersey and pants to the auction as well as goggles. The Toyota/Yamaha/N-Fab/JGRMX rider finished ninth on Saturday.
Hill’s iconic green camo look from Shift proved to be a nice complement to the white camo worn by Fox riders. Hill’s jersey and pant combo is available at the auction. The RCH Racing/Soaring Eagle Suzuki rider posted an 11th-place finish in San Diego.
Although his night ended in heartbreak, Reed’s green camo Shift gear was hugely popular. The Discount Tire Racing/TwoTwo Motorsports rider donated his jersey and pants to the auction following a 12th-place finish.
Weimer unfortunately never got a chance to show off his Answer gear to the San Diego fans after an injury in practice, but the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider still donated a signed jersey to go along with pants and a brand new set of goggles.
Fans simply need to log onto the SupercrossMilitaryAppreciation Ebay store to start bidding. The auction is now live and can also be accessed via SupercrossOnline.com, the official website of Monster Energy Supercross. The auction will end on March 8, 2014.
For the first time ever, the entire Monster Energy Supercross season will air live on FOX Sports. Bel-Ray Racers Earn Top 10 Finishes in San Diego

Courtesy of Bel-Ray

Jason Anderson Retains Points Lead with Podium Finish

FARMINGDALE, N.J. (February 10, 2014)- The 2014 Monster Energy Supercross Series made its last stop in California on Saturday night. The San Diego Supercross, held at Qualcomm Stadium, marked the first-ever Military Appreciation Night for the series, with special opening ceremonies and one-off gear and graphics showing military support. Bel-Ray racer Jason Anderson continued to be the top Bel-Ray racer at the event, with a second place in the 250 class. This result gave him sole possession of the series points lead.
Anderson was once again the fastest rider in timed qualifying and set himself up for a positive heat race and evening of racing. This all ended abruptly as Anderson came in contact with another rider and was on the ground just feet from the starting gate. But Anderson regrouped. He picked himself up off the ground, dusted himself off and set out to gain a qualifying position. He was able to finish 6th place and qualify for the main event. A top 5 start lead put Anderson in a good position for the 15-lap main event. He was second by the second lap and into second place by the mid-way point; but the leader was too far out of reach, and Anderson would earn a second place for his efforts. He now sits on top of the points standings as the sole leader.
In 450 class racing action, Bel-Ray-backed RCH Suzuki racer Broc Tickle scored the top Bel-Ray results. Tickle’s 8th place finish matches his season-best results. A holeshot in the main event put Bel-Ray racer Andrew Short at the front of the field. Aggressive passes by other riders slowed Short down a bit, but he persevered and scored another top-10 finish for the 6th time this season. Following Short with an 11th place finish was Bel-Ray RCH racer Josh Hill. After suffering a broken collarbone in Oakland on January 25th, many assumed Hill would be off the bike for an extended period of time. But Hill showed the industry that they should never underestimate him and lined up for the main event this weekend less than two weeks after surgery. Even a crash during afternoon practice, where he landed on his damaged collarbone, couldn’t stop the determined Hill. He was rewarded for his perseverance with an 11th place finish.  Bel-Ray-supported Rockstar Energy KTM racer Ivan Tedesco finished 13th, and BTO Sports-KTM-WPS racer Matt Goerke finished 15th.
All three of Bel-Ray’s supported race teams and all of the riders rely on Bel-Ray lubricants to protect their machines and provide maximum power. Bel-Ray’s Works Thumper Racing Synthetic-Ester 4T Engine Oil is one of the products chosen by the teams to keep their machines performing their best.
Works Thumper Racing Synthetic Ester 4T Engine Oil is a 4-stroke synthetic motorcycle racing oil that has been developed for full works competition use and is designed to withstand extreme racing conditions.
The supercross series heads east to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for Round 7 on February 15.

Bowers Sweeps Main Events to Secure Fourth Overall Victory of AMSOIL Arenacross Season in Sacramento

Hometown Rider Gared Steinke Wins Western Regional Arenacross Lites

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (February 8, 2014) – AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, made its west coast debut on Saturday night from the California state capital inside Sleep Train Arena. The sixth round of the 2014 season produces a dominant performance from defending Arenacross Class Champion Tyler Bowers who swept each of the night’s Main Events to capture his championship-leading fourth overall win of the season aboard his Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis machine. In the first round of the Western Regional Arenacross Lites Class, Sacramento-area native Gared Steinke, of Woodland, took the victory aboard his Motosport Hillsboro KTM.

Bowers grabbed the holeshot in the first Arenacross Class Main Event with his teammate, and championship points leader, Zach Ames in second and TiLUBE/PBR/TUF Racing Honda’s Jacob Hayes in third. The trio of riders opened a gap on the field and maintained their spots throughout the 15-lap Main Event to finish 1-2-3.

Bowers selected the inversion for the second Main Event, picking no inversion and setting the tone for an intense battle for victory.

As the gate dropped on the final Main Event, Bowers once again asserted himself in the lead with Ames on his rear fender. This time, local rider Daniel Blair, of Lodi, positioned himself in third aboard his Frontier Lubricants KTM. Hayes got shuffled out of the gate and emerged in eighth place, never factoring into the battle up front. Bowers held a consistent advantage over his teammate throughout the race and the duo widened their margin on the field every lap. Behind them, Farmers Insurance/Reynard Mods Suzuki’s Cory Green took over third on Lap 2 and maintained the spot through to the finish.

Bowers’ wire-to-wire effort in each Main Event resulted in his most dominant effort of the season, but the advantage he gained in the championship standings was minimal as Ames’ pair of runner-up finishes gave up just two points. TiLUBE/PBR/TUF Racing Honda’s Kyle Regal (4-4) grabbed the final spot on the overall podium.

In Head-to-Head Bracket Racing, Bowers defeated Motosport.com/MJM Express/Spinechillers Racing Kawasaki’s Michael McDade to give him one additional championship point on the evening.

Ames’ lead in the Arenacross Class standings now sits at three points over Bowers.

The opening round of the Western Regional Arenacross Lites Class Championship kicked off a 10-race battle for the title that will ultimately end at the final round of the season. With the hometown crowd behind him, Blair moved into the early lead of the 18-lap Main Event with KMS KTM’s Dave Ginolfi and TZR Woodstock KTM’s Scott Zont in tow. Steinke began the race in fourth. Blair led the first six laps of the Main Event but experienced misfortune while fending off Ginolfi and dropped to seventh. Ginolfi, Zont, and Steinke assumed the top three spots and began a captivating battle at the front of the field that carried on through the remainder of the race. Ginolfi began the final lap with the lead in hand, but the battle intensified as Steinke, who moved into second, applied pressure and made an aggressive move to steal the win. Gateway Cycles Kawasaki’s Steven Mages, who fought his way into podium position, slipped past for second, while Ginolfi fell to third.

AMSOIL Arenacross continues next weekend with the seventh round of the season from Nampa, Idaho, and the Idaho Center. Two nights of racing begin on Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15, at 9 p.m. ET each night.

Nicoletti to Substitute for Grant in San Diego

Courtesy of JGRMX

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Phil Nicoletti will substitute for Josh Grant this Saturday Feb. 8 in San Diego Calif. at Qualcomm Stadium for round six of the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. Grant suffered a torn muscle in his shoulder during the Phoenix, Ariz. event on Jan.11.  Always a determined competitor Grant has tried to race through the pain since, but it has proven to be very difficult. He and the team feel that resting and healing so he can regain his speed and strength before racing again is the best decision.
Nicoletti joined the team prior to the start of the 2014 season as part of a new pilot program designed to assist promising talent while also providing a substitute rider ready to fill in on a moment’s notice. Nicoletti has been practicing on a team bike fine and is acclimated and comfortable on his YZ450F. He has been training at Club MX in Chesterfield, S.C. and is fully prepared for Saturday’s event without any extra effort needed on his part, or the team’s. Nicoletti, who finished as high as seventh overall in 2013 as a privateer at the roughest track on the outdoor circuit, Moto X 338 in Southwick, Mass., is excited about his first opportunity to race for the team this year.
With support from JGRMX, along with Thomas Fichter, CEO of N-FAB, and Dr. Maresca, of St. Lawrence Radiology, Nicoletti is scheduled to race six events in 2014, in addition to any needed substitutions. Grant’s condition will be evaluated next week and his status for the Arlington, Tex. race on Feb. 15 at AT&T Stadium has yet to be determined. Nicoletti’s first race as a third rider on the team will be Feb. 22 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga.
The San Diego race will honor the over one million service men and women in the armed forces with the first ever Military Appreciation Race, in support of Operation Homefront, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides assistance to service members and their families with a focus on wounded veterans who served on or after 9/11. The promoter of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, Feld Motor Sports will make a monetary donation to the Operation Homefront.  Fox Sports One will air the race live beginning at 10:30 p.m. (EST).  Timed qualifying will stream live on supercrossonline.com beginning at 5:00 p.m. (EST).
