ARMA Energy / Motosport.com / Yamaha Team Announcement

Courtesy of ARMA Energy/Motosport.com/Yamaha

Murrieta, Ca.- ARMA Energy / Motosport.com / Yamaha is proud to announce their 2015 SX team.
ARMA Energy / Motosport.com / Yamaha Team Announcement
Debuting Yamaha’s revised 2015 Yamaha YZ 450F will be #53 “Top Jimmy” Albertson, while Mitchell Oldenburg will contest the 250 East Coast Series. The #52 of Oldenburg will also race the premier class in certain West Coast rounds aboard the powerful YZ250F.
This all-new SX team effort has been spearheaded by Jimmy Sloan, who has partnered with Albertson. Sloan is no stranger to motocross, as he provides the best racing/practice facilities in California since acquiring and reviving Milestone MX and Perris Raceway in recent years. His passion to the sport has made Milestone MX the premier SX practice track for the hardworking “Pro Privateers” as well as upcoming racers. Both tracks cater to all levels/bike size of riding and invite you to visit.

We welcome ARMA Energy back to the top level of our sport! ARMA Energy had gained instant popularity for their unique great-tasting energy drinks, and under new ownership, redistribution of product has already begun.

There is mutual excitement with Motosport.com joining forces with the team for 2015, as they have been a major force of support not only for Albertson, but the whole off-road industry. Motosport.com is a leader in online “One Stop Shopping” for your motorcycling and ATV needs, including OEM parts and gear. Fans worldwide have also been enjoying Motosport’s  video productions of many aspects of racer’s lives on You Tube. Their additional “Title Support” for several SX teams shows the company’s dedication to “giving back” to the MX/SX community!

Rounding out the title sponsors is Yamaha Motor USA. Yamaha has always been revolutionary in motocross. The original “Monoshock” concept was brought to the public in the 70’s by Yamaha. Doug Henry took the championship in the 90’s on the all new YZ400 four-stroke in the midst of decades of two-stroke dominance, once again “raised the bar” for the competition. Currently Yamaha’s superior engine & chassis design of the 250 & 450 four-stroke MX machines will once again have other manufacturers eventually succumbing to their industry leading advancements. While Yamaha has history of “ground-breaking” advances in new technology, they have not forgotten their “roots,” as they still are one of the few manufacturers that allow enthusiasts to enjoy brand new YZ two-strokes in 50, 80, 125, and 250cc models. The 2015 Yamaha contingency has been announced! We are proud to join the “bLU cRU”, and our sponsoring authorized Yamaha dealer, “Wheels in Motion.”

The Team: Jimmy Albertson, a fan favorite privateer competed in 14 main events last year including a win in a semi event and four LCQ victories in the 450 class. When asked about his new role as a partnered team owner, he responded, “I have assisted in building two start-up teams, and my own program since going pro, so to have the opportunity to join Jimmy Sloan in our own effort is super exciting.”
ARMA Energy / Motosport.com / Yamaha Team Announcement
Mitchell Oldenburg will enter his third year in the pro ranks.  He achieved four top ten 250 SX results in 2014.  Albertson recognized his talents and work ethic, and hired the overlooked “underdog.” Mitchell commented, “To finally be on a team, and not worry about travel and bike problems is such a relief. I am so excited to be part of this team.”

Jim Lewis of Merge Racing Technologies will handle engine and suspension development. Rider mechanics are Gregg Albertson and Taylor Knight. Sloan and Albertson will co-manage marketing responsibilities.

Team Sponsors: FMF Racing, FLY Racing, and Dunlop tires will continue their long-term relationships with Albertson. Rekluse clutches will also continue support as they debut their new “Torque Drive” clutch to meet the most punishing demands of Supercross and motocross.
Strong new supporters of the team effort include MIKA Metals handlebars, Reflex levers  and  X-Trig clamps  in the “controls” department. The “power” department will feature Hot Cams, Vertex Pistons, DT1 Filters and VP Fuels.

The custom Yamaha “look” complimented with added strength, function, and durability will be due to Acerbis plastics, 180 Decals, Motoseat, Works Connection, and Bolt Hardware. Rounding out the bike package will be Talon hubs and Excel rims assembled by Dubya Wheels, and finished off with Brembo braking, RK chains, and Talon sprockets.

Industry leaders Scott Goggles and Alpinestars Boots, along with the new 2015 FLY Racing gear and helmets will provide the protection for the racers.

Casual to Diehard fans we welcome you!

Hope to see you at the races!

Ryan Sipes Partners with AirGroup Radiant Logistics

Courtesy of

Flaherty, KY - Sipes Racing, Inc. is excited to announce its new partnership with AirGroup Radiant Logistics as the title sponsor of the AirGroup/Rockstar Energy/Husqvarna Racing Team for 2015, featuring team rider Ryan Sipes.

Sipes, a four-time 250 supercross main event winner who raced for five Factory Supercross and Motocross teams over his eleven-year career, transitioned to off-road racing in 2014. For 2015, Sipes has put together his own race team and will focus on the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series as well as select AMA National Enduro and Pro Motocross Championship events.

Sipes is proud to announce AirGroup Radiant Logistics as his title sponsor, stating, “I’m ecstatic to be working closely with a core company like AirGroup.  Besides assisting with all my shipping needs, which are numerous when you run a race team, they are stepping up in support to help take my racing effort to a whole new level.  I am going up against the best riders on elite factory teams.  The support I receive from AirGroup is essential to my success.”

Jack Morrison, Manager of Off-Road Racing at AirGroup, said, “AirGroup has assisted Ryan’s racing efforts for several years, and we can see that Ryan is as dedicated to the industry as a whole as he is to his individual racing efforts.  We feel that Ryan’s motocross history, as well as his recent off-road endeavors, align well with our efforts to continue industry support and the support of our clients within the motorcycle community.  We are happy to be a part of his team.”

Sipes continued, “Running my own race team gives me the freedom to choose who I represent and promote.  I put everything I have into my racing and I strive to partner with companies who approach things the same way.  AirGroup supports the sport of off-road racing to the fullest extent, and that’s very important to me.  I’m really excited to continue my relationship with such a great company.”
Sipes will also stay with Rockstar Energy Drink for 2015.  “I’ve been with Rockstar for a few years now and it just keeps getting better.  The support I receive from them is priceless to my program.  Their dedication to winning is contagious!  I’m happy to be working with my Rockstar family again and really proud to wear that star on my helmet.  I love being a Rockstar athlete,” said Sipes.
James Hanson, Global Motocross Manager, said, “Rockstar Energy Drink is very pleased to continue our relationship with Ryan Sipes for the upcoming 2015 GNCC season.  We consider Ryan to be a member of our family and were ecstatic to see him pick up his first podium in the woods at Ironman.  We know that 2014 was a learning season as Sipes was up against riders who have been racing on those courses their entire lives.  It’s going to be very exciting to see his improvements next year as he fights for his first win!”

Sipes will race Husqvarna Motorcycles in 2015, specifically the FE 350 in GNCC/Enduro and the FC 450 in Pro Motocross.

Stated Sipes, “Husqvarna has a rich heritage of winning off-road and motocross races, being one of the pioneers of the sport.  I am excited to be a part of that legacy!  The bikes are amazing and more than capable of winning.  I look forward to keeping the Husqvarna brand out front and ahead of the competition.”

“We are thrilled to have a solid rider like Ryan choose to race on a Husqvarna!  He has a great personality and we are confident he will represent the brand well,” said Timmy Weigand, Husqvarna’s Off-Road Team Manager.

In 2014, as a rookie in the GNCC series, Sipes had a solid season and ended the year with an impressive podium finish in the final round at Ironman GNCC.  He also raced nine rounds of the Pro Motocross Championship Series, with his best finish being a fourth place overall at the Indiana National.

You can see behind the scenes of Ryan’s transition into off-road racing in the video series “Chapter 2,” presented by Rockstar Energy Drink, at www.vurbmoto.com.

FIM Announces Penalty in James Stewart Case

Courtesy of FIM

On 12 April 2014, Mr James Stewart, Jr. underwent an anti-doping test conducted by the FIM at the round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, held at the Century Link Field, Seattle, Washington. The urine sample obtained from Mr Stewart revealed the presence of a prohibited substance (amphetamine) listed in the category S6. Stimulant under a) Non-specified Stimulants and prohibited in competition under the FIM Anti- doping Code (CAD) in force.

On 17 June, in accordance with Article 7.6.1 CAD, the FIM provisionally suspended Mr Stewart with effect from 20 June pending the CDI’s decision adjudicating on the merits of the case. Since then, Mr Stewart has been provisionally barred from participating in any competition. The case was referred to CDI and Mr Anand Sashidharan of India was appointed by the Director of the International Commission of Judges (CJI) as CDI Single Judge to hear the case.

In consideration of Article 8.1.1 CAD and Article 3.3.2 of the FIM Disciplinary and Arbitration Code, Mr Stewart was heard by the CDI during a Hearing at the Best Western Hotel at Chavannes-de-Bogis, Switzerland, on 23 October 2014.

The CDI has now issued its decision. On the merits, the CDI found that it was undisputable that Mr Stewart had committed an anti-doping rule violation under Article 2.1 CAD which states in particular that “[i]t is each Rider’s personal duty to ensure that no Prohibited substance enters his or her body(...)”. The CDI further found that this was the first anti-doping rule violation recognised against Mr Stewart.

Taking into consideration all the evidence adduced, the CDI considered that, on the balance of probabilities, Mr Stewart had established how the prohibited substance had entered his body. Accordingly, the Judge was able to apply Article 10.5.2 of the CAD. Considering all the circumstances and having regard to Mr Stewart’s degree of fault and negligence, the CDI Single Judge came to the conclusion that the appropriate sanction to be imposed on Mr Stewart was a period of ineligibility of 16 (sixteen) months. The CDI further ruled that the period of ineligibility would commence on 12 April 2014 (date of the collection of the sample). Consequently, the period of ineligibility imposed on Mr. James Stewart will end on 11 August 2015 at midnight.

In accordance with Article 10.8 of the CAD, the CDI ruled that Mr Stewart is disqualified from all competitions in which he participated (including the four rounds of the 2014 national Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Series) subsequent to the collection of the sample (12 April 2014) and all results he obtained in those competitions are cancelled with all the resulting consequences including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes. The FIM will therefore modify the rankings of the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, accordingly.

An appeal against the decision of the CDI may be lodged by the parties before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne (Switzerland) within 21 days of the date of receipt of the CDI decision pursuant to Article 13.6 of the 2014 FIM Anti-Doping Code.

The full reasoned decision was notified to Mr Stewart on 12 December 2014 and will be published on the FIM website in due course.

Tickle Joins Roczen at RCH Racing

Courtesy of RCH Racing

RCH Factory Racing has re-signed Broc Tickle to ride the Suzuki RM-Z450 alongside 2014 AMA Motocross Champion Ken Roczen for the 2015 FIM/ AMA Monster Energy Supercross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.

Tickle (25) showed great promise in 2013 and also this season in the USA until being sidelined in March following a practice crash at the Toronto Supercross, where he sustained fractures of the T-6 and T-7 vertebrae, two broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

Since then, the Michigan rider has fully recovered from his injuries, making it an easy decision for team owners Carey Hart and Ricky Carmichael to include Tickle as part of the organizations 2015 rider line-up; giving RCH a potent one-two punch heading into next month’s season-opener at Anaheim in California on January 3rd.

Said Tickle: “I'm really excited to be back with RCH for 2015. We’ve had an awesome two years together and for Carey and Ricky to bring me back after my injury really shows what kind of guys those two are. They stuck with me and kept a spot for me. We were heading in the right direction until I got hurt in Toronto. I’m glad all that’s behind us and I feel great. I've been riding and getting ready for the Supercross season for the last month and I'm really pumped with the progress we’re making. All of the work the team has done building and testing with Ivan Tedesco over the summer has definitely paid off. The bike is amazing.

“I'm also really excited that Thor, Bell, X Brand and Sidi will be my personal sponsors for 2015,” continued Tickle. “Some of these are brands I've worked with in the past with great success and some are new to me. I’m looking forward to building strong relationships with all of them and having a breakout year with RCH Factory Racing.”

After winning the 2011 Supercross Lites West title for Monster Energy Pro Circuit, Tickle made the jump from the 250 to the team’s big bike the following season. A fifth-place finish in the final 2012 Supercross point standings and a ninth-place in the Outdoor-series netted-him a new opportunity for 2013 with RCH: The new combination proved to be a consistent mix for Tickle and RCH, with a solid first season paying-off in-the-form of eighth-place finishes in both Supercross and Motocross seasons.

Last season, Tickle kick-started the 2014 campaign with back-to-back eighth-place finishes at Anaheim One and Phoenix before a pair of incidents in heat races at A2 and Oakland kept him from competing in each race’s 450 SX Main Events. From there, Tickle only finished outside the top-eight once over the next six stops, including a career-best fourth-place-showing at Daytona International Speedway before the injury in Toronto.

“I’m very excited to be bringing Broc back for a third year with the team,” explained Hart. “He was showing major gains each week last year leading up to the Toronto Supercross. We’re all looking forward to picking-up where we left off - and having a very successful year of Supercross and Motocross.”

RCH Factory Racing has seen steady progress since Hart and Carmichael formed a joint venture in 2013 and achieved the pairing’s first podium-finish in April of this year at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Always trendsetters in the paddock, RCH continues to show the way with unique marketing initiatives and partnership activations, consistently influencing the feel and dynamic of the pit area. Tickle’s No. 20 RM-Z450 will showcase sponsorship from Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, Jimmy Johns, Dodge, Sycuan Casino, Bel Ray, Suzuki and Rockford Fosgate.

“We’re glad to have Broc back with RCH for 2015,” said Carmichael. “We were really happy with the progress he was making last year. You could see his confidence building as he got better every week. We all know he got hurt in Toronto but, up until then, he put together some solid races and had the finishes to show for it. We’re looking forward to having him around this year so he can finish what he started last season. I know that’s at the forefront of Broc’s mind, as well.”

In order to meet the demands for top of the line Race Tech products and services in the Northeast Region, Race Tech has teamed up with DHY in Deptford, NJ to become the latest Race Tech Service Center. With two technicians on staff trained and qualified to provide installs and support, DHY is ready to help assist you to experience the Gold Valve Advantage.

DHY has been family owned for over 30 years and is a Honda, Yamaha, Polaris, Victory, Slingshot, and KTM dealer along with providing a full service department in house. DHY's passionate staff loves motorcylces, has been a top 100 dealer for many years, and will service Dirt, Offroad, Street, Road Race, Touring, ATV, and UTV suspension.

Craig Miller from DHY is excited to team up with Race Tech. "Doing suspension is something we have always been interested in, and we often boxed up our customer's suspension and sent it out for service. We wanted to raise the bar in our area compared to other dealers, and no other dealers in the area offer in house suspension tuning."

"There are other suspension companies we could have chosen, but Race Tech sets themselves apart from the others by doing all types of suspension, not just dirt bikes or street bikes. They also do tons of testing and back their settings. Plus, with Gold Valves you get product for your money instead of using stock components for similar money," Craig continued.

"We have been hard at work at our headquarters in Corona, CA continuing to push the limits of suspension to ensure that only the highest quality products and services leave our doors. These efforts have brought us continued growth and an increased demand. Our customers on the east coast have been asking for us to provide the same great suspension products we offer at Race Tech to them on a local level, so we have strategically been selecting a handful of RT Centers to meet their needs. The crew at DHY understands the importance of both a proper install and providing a great experience for their customers, so we are excited about working with them," stated Race Tech's Director of
Marketing, Chris Riesenberg.

Yoshimura Release on James Stewart Suspension

Courtesy of Yoshimura

Yoshimura Suzuki Racing is reporting that James Stewart has received notification from the FIM with a penalty regarding his anti-doping violation. The news came eight months to the day from the test at this years’ Seattle Supercross event where he tested positive for amphetamines from his prescribed Adderall. The ruling lays out a punishment that severely affects the entire 2015 season for James and the Yoshimura Suzuki team. Suzuki Motor of America and Yoshimura Racing will continue their unwavering support for Stewart during this difficult period and like all the fans hope to see him line up at the gate as soon as his ineligibility is lifted.

“I’m extremely disappointed to say the least,” said Stewart. “We plan to appeal as I personally feel that the punishment far outweighs the situation; especially since I received both WADA and USADA approvals that prove I’m not cheating. I’m bummed for everyone involved: my family, my team, my sponsors, the promoters and most of all the fans. Unfortunately, I’ve had to be very quiet in regards to this situation but I’ll be telling the full story in the next couple weeks so everyone can understand what we’ve been going through. Thank you all for your continued support.”

Yoshimura Suzuki Racing’s James Stewart has announced plans to be at the season-opening round of the 2015 AMA Supercross Championships on Saturday, January 3 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim to support his team, teammate, sponsors and fans.

Yamaha 2015 Off-Road Racing Teams

Courtesy of Yamaha Motor Corp

The Yamaha bLU cRU off-road racing teams are now set for 2015, and the crews and riders are readying themselves and their 2015 Yamaha YZ450F and all-new Yamaha YZ250FX motorcycles, as well as their Yamaha YFZ450R ATVs for an exciting season of two- and four-wheel racing competition. The announcement was made by Keith McCarty, Motorsports Racing Division Manager for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A.

N-Fab AmPro Yamaha bLU cRU
About to embark on its 18th season with Yamaha is the N-Fab AmPro Yamaha bLU cRU team, which is led by 7-Time AMA Pro Enduro Champion, 13-Time ISDE Gold Medalist, and AMA Hall of Famer Randy Hawkins. The team will compete in the AMSOIL GNCC series, Kenda AMA National Enduro Championship series, and select GEICO Motorcycle EnduroCross events.

Riders include returning team member Jordan Ashburn from Cookville, Tennessee. Jordan, who recently traveled to Japan to race the all-new YZ250FX, winning the final round of the Japan National Cross Country series, finished a career-best third overall in the 2014 GNCC series. He will compete in 2015 aboard a Yamaha YZ450F in GNCC and regional events.

New to the N-Fab AmPro Yamaha bLU cRU team for 2015 is Australian rider Daniel Milner. A former member of the Yamaha of Australia-supported CDR Yamaha team, Daniel is a multi-time Australian Off-Road Champion and an Australian 4-Day Enduro winner. He’ll be racing a YZ450F in both GNCC and AMA National Enduro competition.

Also new to the team is Grant Baylor from Belton, South Carolina. Grant, who is a two-time GNCC XC2 Champion and was a member of the Championship-winning 2014 USA ISDE Junior Team, will race a YZ450F in both GNCC and AMA National Enduro.

Rounding out the N-Fab AmPro Yamaha bLU cRU team’s off-road motorcycle efforts will be 2014 WXC runner-up Becca Sheets and multi-time WMX Champion Jessica Patterson, who will both race the all-new Yamaha YZ250FX in GNCC competition.

In off-road ATV Racing, 2014 was the second year in the sport for the N-Fab AmPro Yamaha team, and they were consistently in contention to win both the XC1 and XC2 Championships throughout the racing season, with team riders Walker Fowler (XC1) from Rogers, Ohio, and Cole Richardson (XC2) from New Castle, Pennsylvania, tied for first in their respective classes going into 2014’s final round in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

In XC2, Cole gave N-Fab AmPro Yamaha its first GNCC ATV Championship, while Walker finished second in the XC1 Championship by a mere fraction of a second. It was one of the closest finishes in GNCC history, and the series’ largest-ever crowd of enthusiastic fans got to witness the excitement. Together, Walker and Cole finished the 2014 season with an amazing 14 combined race wins in the XC1 and XC2 classes.

The excitement is set to continue for the N-Fab AmPro Yamaha team and its fans because both Walker and Cole are returning to race in XC1 and XC2, respectively, and they’ll be aboard the now-assembled-in-the-U.S.A. Yamaha YFZ450Rs for Randy Hawkins’ team in 2015.

Raines Riding University/Atlas Yamaha/bLU cRU/OffRoadViking.com
Established by Six-Time AMA National Hare Scrambles Champion Jason Raines and off-road enthusiast Dwayne Leonard of Atlas Yamaha, the Raines Riding University/Atlas Yamaha/bLU cRU/OffRoadViking.com team will focus exclusively on GNCC’s XC2 class, where the team’s pair of riders will compete aboard the all-new 2015 YZ250FX.

Those riders include Ricky Russell of Duvall, Washington, who returns for his second season with the team. Ricky finished third in the 2014 GNCC XC2 Championship despite missing the final three races of the season due to an unfortunate wrist injury. Joining Ricky for 2015 is new teammate Austin Lee of Bedford, Indiana, who is moving up to the GNCC XC2 class after finishing a strong second place in the 2014 GNCC 250A Championship.

Yamaha Announces 2015 Racing Teams

Courtesy of Yamaha Motor Corp

Cypress, CA – For 2015, the Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., lineup of Supercross and Motocross teams is one of the largest and potentially most competitive collections of owners, managers, team technicians, and riders that the company has ever assembled.
“We’re very excited about the upcoming Monster Energy Supercross and Lucas Oil Motocross seasons,” commented Keith McCarty, Motorsports Racing Division Manager for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. “Especially with the number of teams and riders that want to compete on Yamaha YZ250F and YZ450F motorcycles in 2015. This shows the impact that these bikes have made on the sport, as well as the confidence that the teams and riders have in them as winning machines.”
Joining the previously announced teams, Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX and Yamalube/Star/Yamaha, are the following six additional “bLU cRU” teams:

CycleTrader.com/Rock River/Yamaha

For 2015, Yamaha continues its long-term partnership with the CycleTrader.com/Rock River/Yamaha team, which is led by owner Mike DuClos and manager Christina Denny. The team will campaign in both the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series and the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, with rider Ben Lamay returning to the 450 class aboard a YZ450F, and Alex Martin and Greg Gehrer in the 250SX West Coast and MX events, while rookie standout Luke Renzland will compete in 250SX East Coast and MX events. Rock River will also continue to operate Yamaha’s successful “Pro Parts” program, offering emergency OEM parts at a discount to all racers at all Supercross and Motocross events, including the Monster Energy Cup.

Strikt/Slaton/Yamaha

Led by team owner Bruce Slaton, along with team manager and three-time National Motocross champion Marty Smith, Strikt/Slaton/Yamaha returns for a second season of competition in the 250SX West Coast series aboard YZ250Fs. Returning riders Scott Champion and Zach Freeburg will be joined by new teammate Cole Martinez.

Barn Pros/Home Depot/Yamaha

Founded in 2011 by Barn Pro’s Steve Oslund and managed by former pro racer Scott Steffy, the Barn Pros/Home Depot/Yamaha team–with backing from the nation’s leading barn manufacturer and the largest home improvement retailer in the U.S.–will compete in the 250SX West Coast series with its three young guns, Conner Elliott, Chris Howell, and Ryder Steffy.

51FIFTY Energy Drink/Yamaha

In 2014, the 51FIFTY Energy Drink team took top-privateer honors, finishing 10th in the AMA 250SX West Coast Championship, but the team has higher goals for 2015. Team owner Carlos Vieira added former Factory Yamaha technician Craig Monty as the team manager, signed 2013 Canadian MX 2 Champion Austin Politelli, and joined the bLU cRU to race the Championship-winning YZ250F. A fundamental part of Carlos Vieira’s and 51FIFTY Energy Drink/Yamaha’s program is their commitment to fundraising for the “Race for Autism,” a campaign that is raising awareness and money to help find a cure for autism. At every West Coast round of the Supercross series, the team will actively promote the “Race for Autism” campaign in its pit area.

Blue Buffalo/Slater Skins/Yamaha

Owned and operated by John Slater, founder of Slater Racing Products and the creator of “Slater Skins,” the Blue Buffalo/Slater Skins/Yamaha team will compete in 450SX with Killy Rusk aboard a YZ450F, while Ryan Zimmerman will race a YZ250F in the 250SX East Coast Championship. The team’s title sponsor, Blue Buffalo All-Natural Pet Food, is the #1 selling pet food at big-box pet supply retailers Petco and PetSmart.

Thermo-Tec/Yamaha

For 2015, Yamaha returns to the highly competitive AMA Amsoil Arenacross series with former racer Junior Jackson’s Thermo-Tec/Yamaha team. Two of last year’s Arenacross race winners, Kyle Regal and Mike McDade, will compete for the team aboard YZ250Fs in the 15-round national indoor series. “Yamaha is excited to once again be involved in Arenacross,” McCarty said, “and with the advent of the Ricky Carmichael ‘Road To Supercross’ becoming the clear path to an Amateur rider’s eligibility for the Monster Energy Supercross series, partnering with a competitive team like Thermo-Tec/Yamaha makes perfect sense.”

Galfer steel braided lines are made to exacting standards right here in the United States, and offer excellent performance. The Spanish made brake pads come in a variety of compounds which allows racers to fine tune the feel and performance of their braking system which is why it’s the brake system of choice for the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Race Team.

Supercross Military Appreciation Race Returns in 2015

Courtesy of Feld Motorsports

AURORA, Ill. – In honor of Veteran’s Day, Feld Motor Sports® has announced the return of the Military Appreciation Race at the first ever Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, visit to San Diego’s PETCO Park on Saturday, February 7. The world’s premier off-road motorcycle racing series will once again pay tribute to the members of the United States Armed Forces in support of Operation Homefront, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides assistance to service members and their families with a focus on wounded veterans who served on or after 9/11.

In recognition of their dedicated honor and services, members of the military can save $10 on tickets at Ticketmaster with the code OPHOME. Military members will also be granted FREE access to the pit party by showing a valid military ID (limit one entry per ID).

Last year’s inaugural Military Appreciation Race received full support throughout the racing industry with riders and bikes adorning special military themes. Over 53,000 fans were on hand to pay their respects to the men and women who serve our country and witnessed defending two-time Champion and Team Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart cap the night off with his first win of the season.
Following the race, Stewart and many other Monster Energy Supercross athletes auctioned off their race-worn gear, raising over $25,000. Sponsor and team fundraising efforts resulted in a combined total of over $50,000 raised for Operation Homefront.

“It is great to be working again with Feld Motor Sports and Monster Energy Supercross this year,” said Jack Chirrick, executive director of Operation Homefront – California. “Last year, Feld Motor Sports helped raise more than $50,000, which provided much-needed emergency assistance to military families and wounded veterans. We anticipate that the needs of our military community will grow in the upcoming year, and partnerships like these are a vital part of ensuring we are there to assist our military families and wounded veterans when they cannot cover basic necessities like food and rent.”

In addition to the pledge of support from Feld Motor Sports, the Military Appreciation Race will once again host a charity auction following the San Diego race, featuring the gear worn by the riders during competition. Last year Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey, Chad Reed, Ken Roczen and more all donated their race-worn gear to the auction, and even more contributions are expected for the 2015 race.

“The Monster Energy Supercross community is known for coming together for a good cause and the inaugural Military Appreciation Race was a testament to that,” said Dave Prater, director of supercross, Feld Motor Sports. “With a year of awareness under our belt and a brand new venue in PETCO Park set to host the festivities, the experience will be even more compelling. We’re all looking forward to putting the spotlight back on our service men and women, and can’t wait to add to the memorable legacy we have in San Diego.”

Home to Major League Baseball’s San Diego Padres, PETCO Park opened in 2004 and sits in the heart of downtown San Diego within the famous Gaslamp Quarter. The 2015 Monster Energy Supercross season marks the first time ever the world’s best riders will compete in the shadow of the San Diego skyline, mere feet from the Pacific Ocean. The sixth stop of the 17-race schedule has long been one of the most popular destinations of Monster Energy Supercross with 31 years of tradition and signifies the final Southern California stop of the 2015 season. The San Diego area is home to several military installations, which makes this stop of Monster Energy Supercross a perfect fit to honor to the men and women that have served the country.

Tickets to the first ever race at PETCO Park are on sale now and start as low as $20 for Treadhead seats! Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or at the Petco Park Box Office (reopens on January 5). Headlining the 2015 Monster Energy Supercross television package will be the first-ever live FOX network broadcast from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Saturday, April 25 at 3pm E.T. FOX Sports 1 will broadcast 12 races live and FOX Sports 2 will broadcast 3 races live. Each race will include a next-day re-air on FOX Sports 1. In addition, the authenticated Fox Sports Go app will live stream each race.
