MX for Children Charity Creates Season-Long FundraiserJackpot Challenge Opens Opportunity to Win a Backstage Pass to Monster Energy Supercross

SEATTLE - MX for Children announced today that it has once again teamed up with Feld Motor Sports® to offer fans across the country an opportunity to enjoy the Inside Line Experience – the ultimate backstage pass to the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season. The Inside Line Experience, which includes events during supercross races in Houston, St. Louis, Toronto, Seattle, and Salt Lake City, will culminate in Las Vegas this year.

The MX for Children Jackpot Challenge raises funds for the Hydrocephalus Association, a 501(c)(3), which distributes the donations to the following children’s hospitals: Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital of Alabama, Houston’s Texas Children’s, Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital, Salt Lake City’s Primary Children’s, Seattle Children’s, St. Louis Children’s, and Toronto’s SickKids Hospital.  The funds go to support the hospitals’ research to improve the brain condition hydrocephalus – the #1 cause of brain surgery for children.

The Inside Line Experience rewards qualifying fundraisers with a unique opportunity to walk the track, tour a team trailer, watch the race, and participate in a meet and greet with some of the top supercross racers. The Jackpot Challenge winner, recognized as the top fundraiser, will be flown to Las Vegas to get the Inside Line Experience at the Monster Energy Supercross finale at Sam Boyd Stadium on May 5.

“I've done quite a few events now with MX for Children and love helping them out,” said L&Mc Racing Honda’s Andrew Short. “It's a great cause, and being a parent myself I know how important it is to help sick kids! “

“The funds raised improve treatments for hydrocephalus, a devastating brain condition, through the research of seven great pediatric centers across North America,” said Paul Gross, MX for Children founder.  “We have a lot of people who ask how they can help raise money if they do not live near one of our host cities, and with the Jackpot Challenge it allows everyone in the United States and Canada to get involved and try and earn a VIP Las Vegas supercross experience.”

“We are thrilled to once again to be teaming up with MX for Children to commemorate one lucky fundraiser for their charitable efforts,” said Dave Prater, director of supercross, Feld Motor Sports.  “The Inside Line Experience supports a great cause, so we are excited to honor the nation’s top fundraiser by providing the ultimate backstage experience during the Monster Energy Supercross finals at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium.”

Courtesy of Race Tech
Corona, CA- Race Tech is proud to announce a partnership with the Rockwell/FirePoliceMX Racing team for the 2012 AMA Supercross series.  Riders Bruce Rutherford, Killy Rusk, and Jason Potter will run Race Tech Gold Valves and HP Springs; along with Race Tech’s new valving settings and Ultra Slick Suspension Fluid to get the performance they need to compete at the front of the pack for the 2012 AMA Supercross Lites West Coast series.

Rutherford and Rusk return to the Race Tech team, and Race Tech is excited to welcome Jason Potter to their rider support program.  In 2011, Bruce Rutherford was the stand out privateer in the west coast Supercross Lites series taking multiple top 10 finishes.  KillyRusk continues to gain speed and experience; having a solid team backing to go with a bike setup he is comfortable with will help him reach his full potential this season.  Jason Potter looks to put his name back on the map after a severe wrist injury kept him sidelined throughout the whole 2011 season.

"Race Tech has been a huge part of our Fire & Police Motocross amateur program for over 22 years and we are really excited to be working together for the 2012 Supercross season. I look forward to continuing our great relationship at the professional level," stated Ed Wilson, the team manager for Rockwell/FirePoliceMX Racing.

“Partnering with the Rockwell/FirePoliceMX team is a great opportunity for Race Tech to continue to support a couple of riders who we have built a relationship with in the past.  Bruce and Killy have both done a great job on and off the track promoting our products. Adding Jason Potter to our team of support riders has the Race Tech crew excited.  Jason shows a solid work ethic and an ability to commit and attack the track that can’t be taught.  We hope the 2012 Supercross season is only the start to a longstanding relationship with Jason, as well as the Rockwell/FirePoliceMX team.  Working with top caliber riders and teams like the Rockwell/Fire Police MX squad allows us to continue testing and developing our products to ensure we are always delivering the best suspension possible to our consumers,” said Race Tech’s Director of Marketing, Chris Riesenberg.

Josh Demuth Retires from Competition

Courtesy of Feld Entertainment
AMA Arenacross
Fresh off the heels of the fourth round of the 2012 AMA Arenacross Series season from Wilkes Barre, Pa., three-time champion Josh Demuth has announced that he will retire from the sport in which he has achieved so much success.
The Babbitt's Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis rider currently sits fourth in the Arenacross Class standings, and posted seventh and sixth-place finishes following two nights of action two weekends ago from Wilkes Barre's Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
As a competitor in the AMA Arenacross Series for over a decade, Demuth has become one of the most prolific riders in the history of the sport.
The Texas native from North Richland Hills won back-to-back titles in 2002 and 2003, ending the five-year reign of Buddy Antunez. He continued to compete in various other series, including Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, before returning to the AMA Arenacross Series full time in 2009.
With a renewed drive to win a championship, Demuth posted two victories en route to a third-place result in the Arenacross Class standings.
The following season in 2010, his first with Babbitt's Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki, Demuth battled bar-to-bar with teammate Tyler Bowers throughout the season. Following a season-ending injury to Bowers, Demuth continued to push, fending off his third teammate, Chad Johnson, over the final month of the season to claim a third AMA Arenacross Series championship. The six wins marked one of Demuth's most dominant years, and solidified him as one of the best ever in the sport, along with Antunez and Dennis Hawthorne, the only other riders to ever win more than two titles.

Todd Jendro
(Senior Director of Two-Wheel Operations, Feld Motor Sports) says: "Josh's accomplishments speak for themselves. He's one of the riders who helped make this sport what it is today and he's been a fan favorite for many years. We'll definitely miss him out on the track, but there is no doubt he's leaving as a legend."
Denny Bartz (Babbitt's Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki Team Manager) says: "Since coming on board at Babbitt's back in 2009, it's been a pleasure to work with Josh. Our relationship with him goes back several years when he competed for us in the mid-2000's, and through it all, he's been one of the best riders I've ever had the pleasure of working with. We hate to see him go, but absolutely respect his decision. He's earned it."
At 32 years of age, Demuth is one of the oldest riders competing in the AMA Arenacross Series. However, he still has what it takes to compete with riders a decade younger, knocking on the door for the win throughout each of the nine main events so far this season. While there is no doubt still some fire in Demuth's tank, he felt like now was the time to walk away from the sport he loves for good.
Josh Demuth says: "Over years I've been beat up with a lot of injuries. It came to a point where I was struggling to get out of bed and race to where I thought I was capable. I was doing all I could (on the track) and couldn't win. I felt like it was a good time to walk away before I ride over my head and get hurt.
"Arenacross has been a home for me. I've been blessed to ride and perform as well as I have. I found a good little niche and it paid off. I got to set some records and make a great career for myself. I had some ups and downs, but I've had a chance to win a championship with my father. I dreamt of being a champion as a kid and I was able to do it, and make my dreams come true.
"It's gotten to the point where you never want to give up something you feel passionately for, and I tried to ride it out as long as I could, but your body and others things take their toll. I'm happy with how things have turned out."
Demuth's legacy within the world of the AMA Arenacross Series will never be in doubt, as he arguably served as the face of the sport in leading it into the new millennium. Fortunately for Demuth, he was able to share that with a lot of others.

Josh Demuth
says: "I want to thank all my fans, my family my friends and everyone that's supported me, whether I was hurt or riding well. I'm so thankful for everyone who was there for me - all my sponsors and those people who have helped me achieve so much success. They, along with the fans, made my career what it is, and they know who they are.
"I've gone longer than a lot of other riders out there, and it's hard to swallow at the end of the day. You never want to quit something you've done your whole life, but I'm happy with my decision. I've got a good job lined up with some friends and they ride dirt bikes, so I'll still enjoy riding. I'm going to keep at it, but I'll just be taking care of my family in a different way now. I'm looking forward to everything the future has to bring."
The AMA Arenacross Series continues the 2012 season in just a few weeks from Grand Rapids, Mich., and Van Andel Arena. The fifth round of the season will take place on Friday, Jan. 6, and Saturday, Jan. 7, with two nights of high-octane competition.

Rome, Georgia, December 12, 2011 ¬– Pirelli and JGRMX will continue their technical partnership through the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship season. With the recent addition of supercross rider James “Bubba” Stewart, team owner Coy Gibbs believes that the JGRMX/ Toyota/ Yamaha Team of Stewart and veteran Davi Millsaps, who will race exclusively on Pirelli’s Scorpion MX tires, has the potential to be a championship contender. “We are excited to continue our partnership with JGRMX,” said Pirelli North America Off-Road Manager, Josh Whitmire. “Working with a first class team and organization like Joe Gibbs Racing will allow us to continue the success of the Scorpion MX family of tires in the USA.” Millsaps echoed Whitmire’s sentiments: “Pirelli has been working really hard to develop for us the best possible tires. 2012 is going to be a great season.”
Whitmire continued, “Pirelli has won 56 World Championships to date, making us a leader in off-road tires worldwide.” This legacy of success has led to an expertise in engineering and optimum tires to support the Toyota/ Yamaha/ JGRMX Team at each of the 17 rounds next season.
Stewart, a multiple championship class winner commented, “I was really impressed with the commitment that the guys at Pirelli [showed] during testing, including bringing engineers over from Italy. I am looking forward to the 2012 racing season.”

NUCLEAR COWBOYZ® LAUNCHES AN ALL-NEW NORTH AMERICAN
FREESTYLE MOTOCROSS TOUR

Nuclear Cowboyz 2012 is an FMX theatrical event with an insane snowmobile flip performed by 2011 Winter X-Games Medalist Caleb Moore!

Vienna, VA – Feld Motor Sports, Inc. producer of Nuclear Cowboyz® launches an all-new freestyle motocross (FMX) North American tour, Nuclear Cowboyz 2012, premiering Friday, January 13 in Baltimore, Md.  Nuclear Cowboyz 2012 pushes the extreme into the certifiably insane with a futuristic narrative told through more freestyle action than ever before including an epic snowmobile flip!

Legendary Nuclear Cowboyz FMX tribes, the Soldiers of Havoc and the Metal Mulisha® return for a never-before-seen action-packed event that takes place in the war torn city of Los Angeles during the year 2150.  The tale unfolds as the two tribes’ survival is threatened and besieged by an evil force, The Tempest and her electrifying Cyborg Army. Catapulted into the heart pounding fury and frenzied excitement are the sizzling Nuclear Cowgirlz®, whose allegiance to their tribes only intensifies the Tempest’s rage to destroy the Nuclear Cowboyz. The Soldiers of Havoc and the Metal Mulisha’s battle is fought through fearless freestyle gravity defying stunts, combined with outrageous pyrotechnic and laser displays synchronized to heavy metal, rock alternative and electronic dubstep music.

Nuclear Cowboyz 2012 has the greatest cast of freestyle motocross, trials and quad riders ever assembled, including recent X Games 17 medalists Ronnie Faisst, Adam Jones, Mike Mason, and Winter X Games medalist Caleb Moore. Joined by world-class medalist riders Taka Higashino, Beau Bamburg, Derek Garland, Nixey Danielson, Brody Wilson, Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Dustin Miller, Wes Agee, Matt Buyten, Geoff Aaron, Keith Wineland, Derek Guetter, and Colton Moore, Nuclear Cowboyz 2012 takes unleashed power to its massive ramps in a freestyle performance of pure danger and raw combat.

“We’ve produced a new Nuclear Cowboyz show that brings together not only the most incredible choreographed stunts performed by the best freestyle riders, and we’ve stepped up the insanity by adding more rock music, bigger pyrotechnics, greater freestyle tricks including an awesome snowmobile flip, and new characters such as the evil Tempest and her Cyborg Army,” says producer Juliette Feld. “We’ve increased the magnitude of this production, increased the difficulty in the degree of stunts presented by medal-winning athletes so that you can’t help but be blown away by Nuclear Cowboyz 2012,” adds producer Kenneth Feld.

MSR MIni O Report

Corona, CA
December 6, 2011
The 2011 Winter Olympics have come and gone and we couldn’t be more pleased with how all our MSR athlete’s performed. Throughout the week our Wrekless Youth riders came away with eight podium finishes in the Supercross and Motocross events. New recruit Andrew Pierce made his trip well worth it by bringing home four Championship Titles along with three other top five finishes. Chase Sexton rode great all week and came so close to taking a Championship Title, but had to settle for a 2nd along with three other top five finishes. Aaron Plessinger rode great all week ending up with two 3rd overalls and another top five finish.  We can’t forget about Jeremy Hand, who found himself in a pile up during one of his first moto’s of the week in which resulted in a broken bone in his hand. He never gave up and continued to ride through the pain taking a 3rd overall and another top five finish.
MSR would like to congratulate not only these riders, but also every other MSR rider who made the trip out to Gainesville, Florida for the Winter Olympics. That’s it for the 2011 Amateur nationals and we are already looking forward to next season as our Wrekless Youth program continues to grow.
