ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING'S COLTON HAAKER FINISHES 2ND AT ROUND 6 IN SEATTLE!

Courtesy of Husqvarna Motorcycles

COLTON HAAKER STILL LEADING IN THE SERIES POINTS HEADING INTO ROUND 7
Round 6 of the AMA Endurocross took place last night at the Xfinity Arena in Seattle, Washington. The track consisted of three back-to-back wood pits, two rock sections, the trickiest matrix of the season so far, and the infamous water hole. Lap times for the Pro Class ranged from about 50 seconds to 1-minute.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Colton Haaker took the fastest lap during the practice rounds at 51 seconds. His momentum continued into the days racing where he claimed the fastest time for the hot laps, keeping him points leader heading into the night show.

As the gate dropped for Heat 1, Colton Haaker leapt out into the lead, claiming the holeshot. Haaker rode smoothly and by lap 3 he had a whole section lead. He remained unchallenged by the competition and took the win. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Mike Brown started the second heat out with a jump out of the gate, rounding the corner in a solid 3rd place position. Lap 2, he made a fast pass into 2nd place and battled to keep that position until lap 4 where he made a small mistake at the water hole, which dropped him into 4th. He held this position until the checkered flag, which caused him to transfer to the LCQ round.

Mike Brown, determined to make it to the main event, charged out of the gate, rounding turn 1 in 2nd place. Needing to finish in either 1st or 2nd to advance, Brown pushed himself around the track making a small mistake in the wood pile, which cost him valuable seconds. By lap 3, he was riding in the 3rd position, where he finished, not advancing into the main.

Night time hot laps were highly anticipated due to the extremely close racing and fast lap times between Colton Haaker and Cody Webb. Haaker rode through the track quickly with not one mistake and was able to come out with a win by only three tenths of a second!

Excitement filled the arena during the gate drop for the main event. Colton Haaker jumped out front for another holeshot but dropped into second place on lap 2. For the next 6 laps, Haaker rode flawlessly with first place on his radar. He maintained his speed and put down the fastest lap at 50 seconds on lap 8. For the remainder of the race, Haaker rode consistent and held his second place spot until the checkered flag.

The AMA EnduroCross Championship continues with round seven in Boise, Idaho on November 5th.

EnduroCross Rnd 6 Seattle Results:
1. Cody Webb (KTM)
2. Colton Haaker (Husqvarna)
3. Ty Tremaine (KTM)

MX Sports Pro Racing and NBC Sports Unveil 12-RoundLucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Schedule for 2017

All 12 Venues Return, with Opening Round Scheduled for May 20

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (October 21, 2016) – Today, MX Sports Pro Racing and NBC Sports unveiled the schedule for the 2017 season of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. The schedule will once again consist of 12 rounds in its summer-long journey to crown a champion, with each venue returning. The season will commence on Saturday, May 20, with the Hangtown Motocross Classic in Rancho Cordova, California, and will once again feature exclusive broadcast coverage on NBC, NBCSN, MAVTV and the NBC Sports App.

Each stop of the 12-round championship will consist of two points-paying motos in both the premier 450 Class and 250 Class, resulting in a total of 24 motos apiece that will ultimately determine a champion. Since its inception in 1972, the Pro Motocross Championship has been arguably one of the most difficult titles to win in all of motorsports thanks to its grueling nature. That defining trait has also made it the most prestigious championship in the sport, with Ken Roczen (450 Class) and Cooper Webb (250 Class) emerging triumphant in 2016.

“The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is the root of American motocross and its legacy is undeniable. Both the teams and riders understand the history of the sport and how truly difficult it is to win this coveted championship, so there’s an immense sense of pride in the battle for both the Edison Dye Cup and Gary Jones Cup,” said Davey Coombs, President of MX Sports Pro Racing. “Most of the tracks on the schedule have been hosting Nationals for more than two decades. There’s such a rich history and tradition that both the riders and the fans feed off of, making this championship a truly special experience.”

For the fourth consecutive season the championship will kick off with back-to-back rounds in California, with the Hangtown Motocross Classic giving way to the Glen Helen National in motocross’ proverbial home of Southern California on May 27, over Memorial Day Weekend. Each track represents much of what the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship embodies, with Hangtown serving as the longest-running National on the schedule at 44 years and Glen Helen serving the role of what very well may be the most dynamic and challenging track in the world.

Lakewood, Colorado’s Thunder Valley MX Park, just outside Denver, on June 3, will give way to the first of three off weekends before the High Point National in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, opens the eastern swing of the championship that sits at the heart of the schedule on June 17. This month-long stretch will include stops at Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tennessee (June 24), the unparalleled Independence Day celebration and experience from RedBud MX in Buchanan, Michigan (July 1), and the legendary sands of Southwick in Southwick, Massachusetts (July 8).

Following another break in action, the Spring Creek National in Millville, Minnesota (July 22), and the Washougal National in Washougal, Washington (July 29), sends the championship back westward for two of most scenic stops on the schedule. These back-to-back rounds will set the stage for the stretch run to the championship, which kicks off following the final off weekend on the schedule.
Iconic Unadilla MX in New Berlin, New York, will signify the start of a three-week showdown to crown the 2017 champions on August 11, with one of the most storied events in American motocross. From there Mechanicsville, Maryland’s Budds Creek MX Park will host the penultimate round of the championship on August 19, before Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship’s new season-ending tradition from Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, closes out the summer on August 26.
“The current schedule for the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship brings the fastest riders on the planet and the world’s most prestigious off-road motorcycle championship to virtually every portion of the country,” added Coombs. “We will compete in every time zone and will visit 11 states en route to finding out who will add their name to the legendary list of titleholders, forever etching themselves in the annals of American motocross history.”

2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Schedule

“Win a 450” Winner Frank Artusa Picks Up 2016 Suzuki RM-Z450 from Motorcycle Mall in New JerseyWinning Bike Made to Look Exactly Like Ken Roczen’s Championship-Winning Machine

MX Sports Pro Racing announced today that Frank Artusa, the winning recipient of the annual “Win a 450” raffle during the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, picked up his 2016 Suzuki RM-Z450. The raffle raises funds to benefit the Asterisk Mobile Medical Center, an emergency care facility available at each round of the championship to racers and crew at no cost, with more than $25,000 raised this past season.

Artusa, an East Rockaway, New York, resident made the short trip to Motorcycle Mall in Belleville, New Jersey, to pick up his Suzuki, which was made to replicate the RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s/Suzuki Factory Racing machine of Ken Roczen, the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 450 Class Champion. The graphics kit even featured a red number one plate to commemorate the German’s second title and RCH Racing’s first team championship.

“When I found out my name was selected for the ‘Win a 450’ raffle I was speechless. This was such a surprise and the opportunity to pick the 450 of my choice is just too good to be true,” exclaimed Artusa. “I love Suzuki and I’m a big fan of Ken Roczen, so to know my new RM-Z450 looks just like the champ’s is awesome. I can’t wait to take it to the track!”

The Monster Energy FMX High Rollers Contest is a must-see competition. The one-of-a-kind course took over a week to construct and utilizes nearly as much surface area and dirt as a Supercross track. Designed to challenge riders, this course features some of the most technical elements ever seen in an FMX track design. Highlights include a 120' ramp, three 13' quarters, two (new) 18' quarters for the quarterpipe big air competition, two standard FMX ramps and a super kicker.

"The Monster Energy Cup is a headline Monster event and adding the freestyle component of motocross with an all-star line-up will definitely elevate the overall event and fan experience this year," said Monster Energy Vice President of Sports Marketing, Mitch Covington.

The Monster Energy Cup Pit Party is a big part of the fan experience as thousands come early to take part in the festival-like atmosphere and meet Supercross' elite, including Ryan Dungey, Ken Roczen, Chad Reed, Marvin Musquin, Eli Tomac and more.

The Monster Energy Cup Pit Party takes place outside the stadium from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT. and is free of charge with a valid Monster Energy Cup ticket. The Monster Energy FMX High Rollers Contest will start at 1:30 with the Dirt Shark Biggest Whip competition, followed by Freestyle Motocross (FMX) at 2:30 p.m., and then the FMX Quarterpipe Big Air competition at 4:30 p.m.

About the Monster Energy Cup:
The Monster Energy Cup is an annual showcase of the world's top Supercross riders in a one-night-only battle for the coveted Monster Energy Cup trophy and the shot at winning $1 million, the largest prize in motorcycle racing. Unlike any other race, the Monster Energy Cup challenges riders in their fight for victory with three 10-Lap Main Events on a custom-designed track, inspired by five-time Monster Energy Supercross Champion Ricky Carmichael.

The Monster Energy Cup posts a $250,000 purse, with the winner guaranteed to walk away with a $100,000 check, and any rider that wins all three Main Events will take home $1 million. This feat has occurred just once in the history of the Monster Energy Cup, when Ryan Villopoto made history during a dominant performance in 2011.
