Tonight on DMXS Radio

Loretta Lynn’s AMA Amateur National Championships can be summed up in one word in my book. That word is simply "family." It can be used in the conventional sense with moms and dads supporting their children’s dreams, or a wife holding the pit board as her husband isn’t finished chasing his. Family can also define the best our sport has to offer that week as a collective family reunion held every year where the racing is just part of the experience. Either way, our family is the most important thing after the last checkered flag waves at the end of the day. This year our motocross family lost Ashlee Sokalski, and as her loved ones and friends said their final goodbyes to this beautiful young racer this week, we wanted to add our heart-felt condolences for their loss. Godspeed, Ashlee.

JDR Motosports KTM rider PJ Larsen won the 2010 Australian Motocross Nationals Pro Lites title in dominating fashion. We’ll catch up with our good friend tonight to see what he has planned for 2011 and beyond.

MX Sports' Davey Coombs had a scheduling conflict last week while traveling to Dilla, but we wanted to get the nationals point man right back up to the plate. There is a ton to talk about with the return of Stewart last weekend and the surprising turn of events in the Lites class that has the championship back up for grabs.

While we try and stay as objective as we can, there is no secret as fans of the sport that we just love us some Bam Bam Barcia. Knowing him since he was knee high to a grasshopper and the great family behind him makes him easy to pull for. In keeping with our love and respect for the women in this sport, we’ve lined up Lorraine Barcia for a glimpse behind the scenes into the ascent of the young prodigy. As one of the well-respected moms in the sport, she has played an integral part in Justin’s entire career and we look forward to catching up with her tonight.

Greg "Shut up or I’ll punch you in the face" DiRenzo is one of the most unique and colorful characters that our sport has seen in quite some time. He’s a mix of Tony Soprano, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Robert De Niro, and Mr. Clean. He’s not Trey Canard’s trainer anymore, but he’s still his #1 fan and follows the sport closely. We’ll see if we can do this interview without pissing him off.

Jessica Patterson has won the US Women’s Motocross Championship five times, but this year wants it back. She has refined her entire program in preparation for this title fight. We’ll catch up with JP$ as she prepares for their next race at Southwick after the break.

Concept 2 Rower’s Greg Hammond is an animal on the world’s most elite indoor rower, but he’s not afraid to spread the pain. Our sport does not have a bigger fan and their rowers are in the gyms of our fastest riders. That’s a pretty good combination and speaks to Concept 2’s commitment to fitness. They are offering a discount to any rider or alternate that qualified to race at LL’s and Greg will be on to discuss the details further. You can hit him up at GregH@concept2.com directly for information on their rowers or check out www.concept2.com for the product lineup.
