FONTANA, CA – Seeking to reach new audiences, Falken Tire, a leader in high performance tire technology for both cars and trucks, started the 2011 racing season on a high note through its sponsorship of Monster Energy AMA Supercross competitor Ryan Villopoto, who earned a very dominating first place in front of a sold-out crowd at the season’s first race this past Saturday at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA.
As part of Falken’s promotion of the series as the Official Truck Tire, the company conducted a number of events onsite, providing enthusiasts with popular Falken swag and other giveaways, including a raffle for valuable prizes. In addition, the stadium was filled with on-track Falken signage and the paddock held a special display featuring the company’s modified Toyota Tundra and Tacoma, along with its Formula Drift Championship Monster Energy Falken Mustang. The entire effort was highlighted by the presence of four of Falken’s popular Spokesmodels and an on-site DJ.
“This is an important audience and market for us, and we intend to promote our brand through a variety of opportunities,” said Nick Fousekis, Falken Director of Motorsports. “The best is of course our endorsement from Ryan, and being a part of his first win of the season makes our involvement in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross that much more exciting.”
Ryan also will be featured in Falken’s new television commercial which airs during each Supercross event televised by CBS. The first airing will be 12:00 noon Eastern on January 23.
Falken will feature its Wildpeak All-Terrain tire, and the rest of the tire company’s line-up, throughout the season. Wildpeak A/T has reinvigorated the all-performance sport utility and light truck tire market through its maximum traction, exceptional on-road response and optimized off-road handling and is now available in 17 Large Outside Diameter (LOD) tires, with sizes from 33- to 37-inches, along with a strong inventory of 15-inch to 20-inch diameters in metric and LT metric with many plus-sized applications.
The next race takes place at Chase Field in Phoenix, January 15. For more information, visit www.supercrossonline.com
