FARMINGDALE, NJ – September 2 , 2011 – Bel-Ray Company, Inc.  – Bel-Ray Racing-Weekend Preview
As the summer draws to a close and racing winds down Bel-Ray racers are still in action. Our professional teams and racers will compete this weekend in Italy, Germany, and the United States.
The Tech3 Racing team will compete this week in Misano, Italy for the San Marino GP. Following an excellent finish at the Indianapolis Grand Prix this past weekend, Bradley Smith is looking for a podium finish. His 4th place finish in Indy upped his season points total to 92 making him 6th place in the series standings. With 6 races remaining Smith is just 4 points away from 3rd place in his rookie Moto2 season. Teammate Mike DiMeglio has been struggling all season long and is looking for a breakout ride this weekend as the season winds to a close. DiMeglio is 28th in the series points standings.
The World Motocross Championship Series returns to action in Gaildorf, Germany after a 2 week break. TM Factory racer Tanel Leok used the break to recover from a difficult crash at the previous round in Great Britain. After a 4th place finish in moto 1, Leok was landed on by a competitor in moto2 and could not finish the race. Despite the DNF, Leok is still 11th overall in the season points standings with only 2 rounds remaining.
TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed suffered his worst finish of the 2011 season last weekend at the National Motocross event in Southwick, MA. Reed had DNF’s in both motos and looks to this weekend’s Steel City National in Delmont, PA for redemption. Despite not scoring any points Reed is still in 3rd place in the series points standing 57 points out of the lead. Joining #22 Reed this weekend will be several other Bel-Ray backed racers. #96 Lowell Spangler, #420 Chris Duymich, #449 Dakota Kessler, #514 Anthony Roth, #587 Dustin Kendall, #606 Ronnie Stewart, #731 Steve Roman, #760 Ty Wozney, #865 Calle Aspegren, #866 Elia Zinetti, #867 Fredrik Noren, and #910 Mic Sowa are all scheduled to attend this weekend as well.
