Carlsbad, CA — Dragon’s Davi Millsaps impressed the racing world by winning the first race of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season on Saturday January 5th in Anaheim, California.  Millsaps had a near perfect night winning his heat race, the Nuclear Cowboys Hole Shoot Award and leading the first 17 laps of the main event.  The only time he faltered was late in the main when Trey Canard passed him for the lead.  But Millsaps regrouped and passed Canard on the white flag lap electrifying the crowd and taking home his first win since 2010. Wearing the Dragon Vendetta Rockstar goggle, he proved himself in a top notch field of the world’s best Supercross riders and is now poised for a run at the overall 2013 AMA Title this year.
“It was a great night for me,” said Millsaps. “This is my first win since 2010, and I was just trying to keep calm out there. It has been a long time since I have led a race, so it was hard to calm my nerves.”
Millsaps, who finished runner up in the 2012 AMA season, signed on with Dragon and Rockstar Energy Racing to start the 2013 season off and has kicked things off with a bang.  The 24 year-old racer has a long list of accomplishments including being the 9-time AMA National Amateur Champion and finishing 2nd overall in the AMA Supercross standings in 2012.
