Renthal Riders Dominate Motocross and Offroad Standings As We Hit Halfway Mark of the Season

Renthal Riders Dominate Motocross and Offroad Standings As We Hit Halfway Mark of the Season
In the AMA Pro Motocross series we’ve seen the consistency of TwoTwo Motorsport’s Chad Reed pay off as he leads the points over Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, who has had the speed to win on any weekend but just hasn’t had the consistency of Reed.  In the Lites class, it’s been all about the dominating performance of the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team with their riders handing over the red plate like a hot potato after each round.  Dean Wilson has managed to keep the points lead heading into the off weekend over Blake “El Chupacabra” Baggett who sits 2nd in points and their teammate Tyla Rattray sitting 3rd.  In the WMX series, Ashley Fiolek ripped off two massive holeshots this past weekend at Red Budd to go 1-1 for the overall and extend her points lead over 2nd place.
In the FIM World Motocross series we have seen the Red Bull Teka KTM team consistently up front and new red plate holder Antonio Cairoli working his way back into the top spot of the series standings after an impressive win at the Swedish round.  Rockstar Energy Suzuki’s Clement Desalle sits 2nd in points as the series heads to Germany this weekend.  Speaking of Germany, this weekend’s race will see hometown kid Ken Roczen looking to expand his points lead in the MX2 class over his Red Bull Teka KTM teammate Jeffrey Herlings.
North of the border in the Monster Energy Canadian Motocross nationals, after 4 of 9 rounds have been completed, it has been total domination by the Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing squad of Colton Facciotti and Dusty Klatt in the MX1 class with both riders sitting 1-2 in the points respectively.  In the MX2 class it’s more of the same with Blackfoot’s Tyler Medaglia holding a healthy points leads over his nearest rival.
Switching to offroad racing, in the Can-am GNCC series it’s been a close battle between FMF Makita Suzuki’s Josh Strang and FMF KTM’s Charlie Mullins after 8 rounds.  The two have battled non-stop thus far and sit atop the Leaderboard heading into this weekend’s round in Ohio.
In the WORCS series, FMF KTM’s Kurt Caselli has been the most consistent up front, and with the most wins (2) leads Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert by comfortable margin in the Pro 1 class.  The WORCS series is currently on “Summer Break” and will resume racing in late August in Washington state.
All of the riders mentioned in this article use Renthal handlebars, sprockets and grips on their quest to earn titles in their respective disciplines.  With 153 World Titles and 132 US titles, Renthal Builds Championships.

KilBarger Racing Round 6 Red Bud Race Report

Courtesy of Kilbarger Racing
July 8th, 2011

Once again Izzi was on his game in qualifying and was just 3 seconds off the fastest time in the 4th spot. As for Levi, it was decided that he would be sitting out this round and as many rounds as he needs to get back on his program and start feeling competitive.
Izzi once again shot himself off to another top 10 start due to his Fast Core Mods Honda. After running 9th first lap Izzi started moving his #42 machine towards the front, and soon was into the 5th position by the sixth lap. On the tenth lap while still running top 5, Izzi would fall victim to electrical problems and was forced to DNF the moto. This would leave him 31st gate pick going into the second moto.

Second moto wasn't so nice to the #42 of Izzi; after getting off to a bad jump, Izzi had to work his way up. By the end of the moto it would look like Izzi would move all the way up to the 9th position. With his first moto's DNF giving him a 31st, his 31 - 9 would give him 15th overall on the day. Nico and the rest of the team are looking forward to the weekend off and start getting regrouped for round 7 at Millville.

Moto2 racing took place this weekend in Mugello, Italy and the Tech3 team of Bradley Smith and Mike DiMeglio competed. Coming off of podium finishes in the last 2 rounds,  Smith was able to put his front row starting position to good use. He was involved in a 3 way fight for the lead the entire race and even took the lead with just 3 laps to go. Smith was passed for the lead as the race came to a conclusion and finished 3rd place in the event. His fine finish pushed him into 3rd place in the season's points standings for the world championship. He now holds a 16 point lead heading into the next round I n Minnesota on July 16th.
In World Grand Prix MX1 racing, TM Factory Racing rider Tanel Leok had a rough weekend with 14-30 moto finishes for 18th overall this past weekend in Uddevella, Sweden. He retains 13th overall in the season’s points standings heading to Germany this weekend.
TM Factory Racing teammate Thomas Chareyre used his consistent 2-4-2 race finishes to take 2nd overall in the Supermoto World Championship event held in Andorra. He holds a 2 point lead in the series' standings heading into the next event on August 28th in Italy.
