COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan 25th, 2009 – AGV is pleased to announce that it
has signed Travis Pastrana. Travis who is widely regarded as one of the
greatest talents and greatest innovators of the sport of motocross and
freestyle, will be wearing AGV’s new motocross helmets for his “two-wheels
adventures” and AGV-manufactured helmets for his rally car competitions.
TP199’s achievements are already legends: 5-times US amateur motocross
titles, 2-times Canadian amateur motocross champion, World Freestyle
champion at age 14, member of Team USA at the Motocross des Nations, AMA
Pro National champion, AMA 125 East Supercross champion, most successful
competitor in the history of the X Games with multiple Gold medals and
most recently back-to-back champion at Rally USA.
The 26 year old Pastrana joins a storied roster of champions and legends
who have competed in AGV over the years from Giacomo Agostini, Angel
Nieto, Barry Sheene and Gennady Moiseev to Ezra Lusk, Max Biaggi, Marco
Simoncelli and Valentino Rossi.
Pastrana joins a strong team of AGV riders that includes Honda Red Bull
Racing’s Davi Millsaps and Ashley Fiolek in the USA and Team Rinaldi

Philippaerts in the FiM Motocross World Championships.
“Getting Travis on board is huge for AGV,” said AGV Dainese USA’s Head of
Operations, Roberto Sadowsky. “Working with athletes who are at the top of
their sports to help develop product is what AGV helmets have been doing
for the last 63 years, it is part of the AGV Dainese’s DNA. Along with
Davi and Ashley Fiolek, we see TP as a huge part of what’s next for AGV in
the motocross and off-road industry.”
“My head is something I can’t afford to take risks with and the AGV helmet
provides the best fit and more protection than anything on the market,”
said Pastrana. “I was surprise how light it was at first but after riding
a few hours with it, I can say that I haven’t used anything that light and
vented in the past.”
Part of the Dainese group, AGV helmets are the results of 63 years of hard
work in finding the best solution in terms of safety and design. A
tradition carried on by some of the most important riders of all times who
helped AGV to make motorcycling history. Among them Giacomo Agostini,
Angel Nieto, Barry Sheene, Kenny Roberts, Gennady Moiseev, Randy Mamola,
Johnny Cecotto, Ezra Lusk, as well as Formula 1 racing drivers such as
Niki Lauda and Emerson Fittipaldi.
Today the legend is carried on by the 9 times MotoGP World Champion
